Thanks Lalitha, for a great contest. We truly did enjoy it. Congrats to KK Uncle's team! Good job, Vibs and Aish👏👏 We love chacha, so we are happy for him. It's very generous of you to share your award and sweets with us Vibs! Thanks very much😆😆 But we feel like we are winners anyway, as Lalitha said, because we enjoyed every minute of being with our Indrajeet in competition or in real life (aka) Praphulla! We love the guy so much, it was a pleasure to represent him and write poems about his life , I mean IJ!!😆😆

Thanks - an excellent choice. Since I suggested it, I'll take the fall if you get into trouble. 😆 But no, you needn't post it - I saw the pic 😆

Now that you mention it, I do remember the shapes of those goblets that rulers used to use. I wonder what the drinks themselves were like? Were they made of grapes - which would make them wines? Or other crops? If those drinks could be reproduced, I'd be interested in trying some.

Not to segway into the Dwapar yuga, but I'm assuming that these were the same drinks the yadavas had when they went for the picnic in which they destroyed each other? Interestingly enough, Ugrasena had banned alcohol (kinda like successive Gujarat governments have), but at Pravasa (? - the place where the yadavas had their picnic), the Yadavas did drink heavily, which was what led to their final brawl.

P.S. The funniest pic I saw in this Ramayan was Vali eating a banana in one hand, and a wine glass in another when Sugriv comes to challenge him. Has anybody in the Sagars actuallytried that combo, or did they just assume that as Vanaras, they can eat and drink anything😆😆😆 I'll try posting it if I can.

It's your call Godisone - you can either put a riddle, or you can announce the winners. If it's a riddle, just make it sudden death - if one team gets the right answer, they automatically win, but if they get it wrong, they automatically lose. How about it?

P.S. Chatter, congratulations on 8700!👍🏼

thanks chandra i m targetting 10000
and ur also not far from 1000

Mallika does not want a riddle as she is very busy, and Aiswarya told me she too doesn't want a riddle, so I guess I'll just announce a winner now.
And the winnner is........................................................Team Kumbhakarna!!!Great Job Guys!
And Team Indrajit also did a spectacular job! You all have a lot of creative talent!👏 👏👏👏
I for one enjoyed the first task the most. It was hilarious and a lot of fun reading those stories🤣, and of course, the poems and the songs were awesome as well!😛
Jiya, one of our judges, told me that she really enjoyed reading both teams' entires, and that you guys helped her learn a lot more about the rakshasas in Ramayan, so a job well done to both teams!⭐️
The important thing about this contest was not who would end up being the winner, because everyone is a winner, but how much effort was put into each task, and I can see that both teams put a lot of effort into their tasks.
Because of your hard work, I am getting two winning signatures done as a gift for both teams. I will submit them here after they are done. I hope you guys will like them!😳😃

Such rich food is okay for someone who only eats once every 6 months. In fact, it's a wonder that Kumbhakarna had a belly, with all that fasting. 😆

I will definitely have to pass on the treat - dunno about Mallika & Chatter. 😆

Need not worry about me getting into trouble - I think I'll be fine 😉. The pic was a fusion of both the options you suggested.

I think grapes could have been used but the cereals were more common, if I'm not mistaken. Rice, barley, wheat or stuff like that - I think it was more of the malt type. I don't think Soma was ever fermented but other drinks may have been. Soma was the best of it all in those days but there might have been other drinks too. I heard that The people who drink Soma juice were differnetiated from those who drink Suraa.
Regarding Soma, I read somewhere that some drgus like opimium were also used for its preparation (not sure about this, though).
I also read that it was extrememly expensive to finance its preparation and those who had it were absolutely rich and had as elevated status in the society.
It was described to have a characteristic sharp taste and was consumed either in its pure state or mixed with honey or milk (sometimes even curd and grains too). Rather than being an intoxicant, it was more of a stimulant and kept the person awake. I had also read that it was sweet smelling.
Soma was considered a sacred drink and it was not a privilege given to the common man (A person who had the wealth and potential to fulfill the food requirements of all those who depend on him for atleast 3 years was considered worthy of drinking Soma). Even the preparation of the drink was a sacred ritual.
I never knew that King Ugrasena banned alcohol.
And regarding the combination with a banana, I haven't tasted any of the drinks and hence, I wouldn't know. But if it was Soma, I think it wouldn't have tasted bad with fruits.
