I agree with you. It is people's bad karma that makes them suffer, not the "unholy" gaze of some devta or something. It's just that people like to put the blame of their suffering on others, but if we all look within ourselves, we will know that all the good/bad incidents in our life are because of our karma only. In fact, if one prays to Shani Dev he even helps them destroy their bad karma.
Btw, I am curious. Which version of Ramayana mentions that Vibhishan married Mandodari? 😲 This is really new to me, because I was always under the impression that Mandodari, being a pativrata, either burned herself in the pyre of her husband or lived the rest of her life as a widow. I do know that when Vali died, Sugriva married Tara since such a practice was common among the vanar jaati, but I did not know that Vibhishan also married Mandodari.
Is this true?

yaa its given in many versions...in kamban its mentioned tht rama advised vibhishna to marry mandodari to save her from widowhood and vibhishna followed his advice,
other versions and folktales too incorporated it ... there is one controversial sarga in ramcharitmanas tht gives vague idea about vibhishna and mandodari;s marriage...but. its controversial one 😳

here in the link to the sarga http://books.google.co.in/books?id=UT_tq0ilv88C&pg=PA25&dq=SUGRIVA+AND+VIBHISHANA&lr=&num=100&as_brr=3&sig=ACfU3U2TMN1d4pbSKEn9HSo7XcOpWm9lVA&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q=SUGRIVA%20AND%20VIBHISHANA&f=false

And where did i say that all have to agree with me ? Which post did i say it ? Infact in my last post i said no one has to agree with me if they don't feel like it . And if i don't agree with the Sagar portrayal of Ramayan , thats exactly what i will say just as those who agree with it speak their mind . What i can say or not is my right as a IF member so long as i don't break their rules and i don't believe in stinting my thoughts . I have repeatedly said feel free to believe or disbelieve and accord me the same right .😊

I really do not understand the view point of the TM.First you post a topic and members dive into discussions.I am enlightened reading all of them .Like you expressed your opinions other members too did ,but was it necesssary on the part of you as well as some other member to be sarcastic. You actually seem to refute what you want to convey.
So here is my take and I would stick to the topic
1.I would like to particularly draw your attention to the "RUBBISH PART"you talked about .Coming to Lord Shani

He is known as the greatest teacher. Shani Dev is said to be very harmful to those who follow the path of betrayal, backstabbing and unjust revenge. He is known in Hindu scriptures as the greatest trouble giver as well as the greatest well wisher. Practically everyone is aware that Shani brings upon every one, a period of bad luck (Sadhe Saati). Only a few know that Shani has been given the portfolio of Justice just as Sun has been given the portfolio of Fame and Jupiter of Health and Venus of Love and Luxury.

Most people have certain egos and superiority feelings in them, which Shani does not like and so he crushes that entirely and makes the person much more humble and malleable. Of course, most people don't like it and resist it and so they think that Shani is a horrible and evil planet with a negative influence butShani only brings their own doings in front of them. Therefore, Shani is also a very spiritual planet because it makes people more honest and sincere and removes their vices whatever they might be. Shani worshippers are able to develop an immense feeling of love and devotion towards Him. They are able to overcome great obstacles in their lives by praying to Shani. They are able to develop mystical powers and "Siddhis" which Shani is able to bestow and hence acquire a heightened sense of intuition. If one can make friends with Shani and get Him to be pleased then nothing can hold one back because in a way, the person has made friends with the darkness, shadows and obstacles that could come in one's way and then there is only light and happiness. That means one is ready to face up the dark side of life and not afraid of anything.
THE VAKRA DRISHTI you are talking about is actually a curse which was due to his wife once ,though she was happy with him later but the curse stayed with him according to some tales. There is a diff between Drishti and VAKRA drishti ..So if the impaired drishti (tirchi translated in hindi the word VAKRA in sanskrit means tedhi or tirchi or corner of the eye...)So exactly directly looking into Shani's eyes is not VAKRA drishti of Shani .
Anyways thousands of scriptures ,thousands of tales,no one can decide what is RUBBISH WHAT IS WONDERFUL...Anyways
2.There is something called creative freedom or liberty...I have always maintained that no book can pen down human emotions nor can any version describe what happened.Whatever little they showed in the show regarding Ravan and Mandodari indeed justifies your definition of their bond.If you go back and check some episodes, you can see that their mutual respect is always intact and as other members have pointed out it was only regarding Sita and her kidnapping...
3.Regarding Ravan and his portrayal as a lust driven man.Again 300 versions different countries have diff perceptions towards Ravan while RCM does portray him as an arrogant lustful man ,some other countries worship him as God and consider Lord Rama as the one who attacked him...So if they stick to a particular version its not wrong I guess ..If you watch the show on TV IT COMES WITH A HUGE DISCLAIMER that it incorporates lot many versions...So m again curious that how can they show all perceptions at the same time...So if they depict something according to one version and leave others THAT CAN'T BE CALLED RUBBISH right...
LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST..Agree ,Disagree or debate..A forum is meant for expressing just because we differ in view points it is not necessary to become judgemental about members who do not agree or differ with your opinions.Knowledge is like an unfathomable ocean and we should be open to learning every day...
If one opens a topic and end up being unwelcoming to others views and opinions ,discussions ends absolutely then and there and the purpose of such a discussion goes futile

@kalapi and koolsadhu

all we r saying that u cannot say PH is showing rubbish just coz it does not matches with the version of ramayan u read or ur beliefs...and the replies to TM initially were very polite..i dont find it offensive or questioning the knowledge of TM..everyone explained why they cant relate to TM's post but i guess TM dint expected that and started using harsh words just to prove their point..

since the show began..no one has accepted anything about the show..so all r used to it..as i said..we have realised that the incidents shown are mentioned in one or the other versions so how can one say confidently PH is wrong and offer corrections unless u r very sure abt it.

and just coz we presented our viewpoint...you ASSUMED we have blind acceptance ?? Is that not wrong...we r not blind followers of this show and nor r we RAVAN haters as u had assumed again...infact here everyone was open abt RAVAN. But ramayan cannot show all that aspect..
