i see that you are online too..
anyways, it is an awsome update. 😃 i like the way you solve the problem within the chapter, unlike the tv serial which takes months streach.
rani is the hero again, but i wonder if the queen and the princess come to know that she is educated...will they throw her out...
love the king's and namarata part. they seem so kind hearted and treat everyone so nicely like rani.
a well done chapter 👏

Thanks pragalbha, part coming more interesting than current story line..this week i don't watch any epi.but waiting for your FF..you should update every other day..i can't wait 😭 .. atleast yadi find out rani is educate..so dadi..when are you planning for yudi see rani..and can you update one more part in weekend..

i agree with you, she left it on suspence. her story is way better than what they show on tv.
i think pragg mentioned about rani and the prince meeting at the ball 😍.
i can't wait when they meet face to face.

Re-cap : Rani discovers that Rani maa takes expired medications and falls sick. Rani maa is saved by Rani. She and the King come to know that Rani is educated.

PART - 7 : A COURAGEOUS DECISION

Rani is staring at the King! Her feet refuse to move forward and her heart is holding her back!! The fact that everybody is looking at her in the capacity of a servant will fill her with an inferiority complex, which will not want the King to see her!! 😔 The King turns towards her when she quickly ducks behind a curtain!! He is walking towards the servant, when he gets another call on his phone. He takes the call and walks away forgetting all about Rani. As the King passes them, the other servant stops in her track and wishes him, her eyes downcast. Rani stares at him from behind the curtain. He passes them and Rani heaves a sigh of relief and both of them continue to Rani maa's room. Rani is very glad to see Rani maa, hale and hearty! She goes to Rani maa and touches her feet.
Rani (her face radiating her happiness) : Pranaam, Rani maa!! 😊
Rani maa (looking at her with a lot of affection) : Yeh tune doosra upkaar kiyaa hai mujh par!
Rani (earnestly) : Nahi nahi, Rani maa, aisa mat kahiye!! Yeh mera dharm aur kartavya tha. Krupayaa isse upkaar mat kahiye!
Rani maa : Theek hai. Ab mere kartavya ki baari hai. Yeh le meri taraf se.
She extends her hand and gives the diamond pendant to Rani. Rani is amazed by the lustre of the diamonds. She had never seen a diamond before!! But she is reluctant to take it. Rani maa forces her to take and says
Rani maa : Tune jo kiyaa, uske badle mei yeh toh kuch bhi nahi hai. Lekin phir bhi isse sweekar kar le.
Rani has no option but to take it. she thanks Rani maa. The eyes of the other servant pop-out on seeing the diamond!!! She is mesmerized by the pendant!!
Rani maa : Chal isi bahaane mujhe yeh toh pataa chal gayaa ki tu padhi-likhi hai!
Rani stares at Rani maa and suddenly a flood of tears burst out. The old Queen is alarmed!
Rani maa : Arre, Kya hua?? Ro kyun rahi hai??
Suddenly Rani falls on Rani maa's feet and says
Rani maa : Agar aapki angya ho toh mei kuch kehna chahti hun. 😭 😭
Rani maa raises Rani from her feet and makes her sit.
Rani maa : Haan, haan bol. Kya kehna chahti hai.
Rani (crying) : Rani maa......mujhe....mujhe (showing the pendant) yeh sab gehne nahi chahiye. Mujhe kuch aur chahiye!
She holds the old Queen's feet again and says
Rani : Mujhe kshamaa keejiye agar mei yun kehkar bhool kar rahi hun.....lekin, mujhe.....mei aage padhna chahti hun!! 😭
Rani maa looks confused and surprised at Rani who is crying her heart out. She signals her personal servant to leave as she wants to give Rani some privacy. The servant does Pranaam and leaves. Then Rani maa slowly lifts Rani up and makes her sit. She wipes the tears from Rani's eyes and says
Rani maa : Rani, tu sabse pehle toh ronaa band kar. Rone se kabhi kisi samasya kaa samaadhan nahi mila hai.
And she gives Rani a few moments to calm down and srop crying and then she says
Rani maa : Ab bataa, kya baat hai? Tu kya kehna chah rahi hai?
Rani : Rani maa, mei padhi-likhi hun. Meine yahi saal high-school pass kiyaa hai. Mei chahti hun ki mei aage padhoo. Mere bauji bhi yahi chahte the, ke mei aur meraa bhai padh-likhkar, unnati kare. Mei unki antim iccha poora karna chahti hun.
She looks at the Queen with so much hope and expectation that Rani maa really feels bad for her. She says
Rani maa : Yeh toh bahut acchi baat hai, Rani! Issmei itni darne ki kya baat hai? Tum padh-likhkar gyan prapt karna chahti ho aur apne parivaar ka sahaara banana chahti ho, yeh sunkar hum bahut khush hai!
Rani : Lekin Rani maa, mujhe toh yahaan aapki seva ke liye laaya gayaa hai.....
She does not know how to continue in fear of displeasing the old Queen. She does not want to complain on Pradhan and the Rani sahibaa. Rani is thinking that Pradhan has made her the servant while Rani maa is thinking that Rani's family is in dire need of financial help and so they have want Rani to work as a servant in the palace. They both are thinking differently!! The old Queen thinks for a few moments and says
Rani maa : Tu dono karegi.
Rani (surprised) : Kaise, Rani maa?
Rani maa : Tu uski chinta mat kar. Teri padhai ab hamaari zimmedari hai! Hum kuch samaadhan dhoondhte hai jisse tu padh bhi sakti hai aur apne parivaar ki madad bhi kar sakegi.
Rani (very happy) : Rani maa, Mei kaise aapka dhanyavaad karu????
Rani maa says mischeivously : Ek tareeka hai mujhe dhayavaad karne kaa...
Rani is all ears, eager to know what it is
Rani maa (continues) : ...aur woh yeh hai ke tu dhanyavaad karna band kar deh!
And she bursts out laughing, while Rani smiles with gratitude. 😆 😆
That night Rani is lying on her bed and thinking about what happened that day. She is surprised at herself that she could convey her problem to Rani maa without fear! She does not understand why, but she knows that she got this courage because of Yudi. 😳 She wanted to achieve her dignity back because she did not want the King to treat her as a servant. And as all nights, she cannot sleep for a long time and is immersed in thoughts!! A week passes by. The new King is extremely busy in handling his new responsibilities and learning the ropes of being a King!! One day in the afternoon, Rani is with Rani maa helping her to do some work when Pradhan comes and requests audience with the Rajmaata. He has brought another man with him. Both are granted permission to come in. They come in.
Pradhan (with his hands folded and head bent) : Pranaam, Rajmaata!
Rani maa (acknowledges his greeting and looks at the other man and says) : Aap.........?
Pradhan : Rani maa, Yahi Sharma ji hai, jinke baare mei, maine aapko bataaya.
Sharma ji also bends his head down, folds his hands and greets Rani maa.
Sharma ji : Pranaam, Rajmaata!
Rani maa : Sharma ji, hame bahut aanand hua yeh jaankar ke aapne hamaari baat maan li.
Sharma ji : Rajmaata, yeh toh aapka baddhappan hai, jo aap aisa keh rahi hai! Varnaa yeh toh meraa saubhagya hai ke mei aapke kisi kaam aaya!
Rani maa (smiling and pointing to Rani) : Theek hai. Toh phir yeh leejiye, yehi hai aapki chaatra.....iskaa naam hai, Rani.
Rani is looking at Rani maa confused when Rani maa says
Rani maa : Rani, aaj seh yeh tere masterji hai. Pranaam nahi karogi, apne masterji ko?
Rani is looking at her dumbfounded 😲 when Rani maa says again
Rani maa : Jao, jaakar pranaam karo!
Rani gets up and goes to Sharma ji and touches his feet. Sharmaji blesses her and says
Sharmaji : Jeeti reh, beti . Sadaa unnati(progress) karo!
Rani maa (speaking to Rani) : Sharmaji, yahaan ke Women's college ke Pradhaanacharya reh chuke hai. Aaj se yeh tujhe somvaar se shukrvaar, subah dus baje seh ek baje tak padhayenge. Aur har saal, tum baaki chatraon ki tarah hi college ki pareeksha dogi, aur teen saal mei apni degree prapt kar logi. Sirf yeh antar hoga ke tum college ko jaane ke bajaaye ghar mei hi padhogi. Aur aisa meine issliye kiya kyonki tum agar har roz collge chali jaogi, toh meri dekhbhaal kaun karega??
And she adds with a twinkle in her eye 😛
Rani maa : Tumhe padhna bhi hoga aur mujhe sambhalna bhi hoga. Kar paogi dono?
Tears of gratitude are once again flowing from Rani's eyes and she shakes her head in affirmation.
Rani maa : Bahut accha!
Turning to Sharma and Pradhan
Rani maa : Theek hai, Sharma ji. Kal se aa jaiyega aur har din aap dopahar ke bhojan ke liye hamaara aathithya (invitation) sweekar keejiye.
Sharma ji : Jo angya, Rajmaata.
He and Pradhan leave when Rani maa calls Pradhan back.
Rani maa (looks at Pradhan seriously and says): Pradhan, Rani ki padhai ke baare mei jitne kam logon ko maalum ho utna accha hai.
Pradhan (understands her indication which means don't let the Rani sahibaa know and says): Aapki angya sar-aankhon par, Rani maa!
He agains bows to her and leaves. And here Rani is just overwhelmed and is wiping her tears. She goes and again touches the old Queen's feet.
Rani maa (softly) : Rani, mann lagaage padhna aur apne maata-pitaa ka sapna poora karna. Accha ab tu jaa. Aaj ke liye teri chutti.
Rani shakes her head in the affirmative and leaves. She walks back to her room filled with happiness and gratitude. She goes in search of Lakshmi maasi and tells her everything. Lakshmi is jubilant
Laksmi : Yeh toh bahut hi accha hua, Rani!! Mei na kehti thi ki Rani maa, devi hai! Aur hamaare Pradhan ji bhi dilke bahut hi saaf hai. Ab bahut parishram karna aur acche se padhna. Apne bauji ka naam ooncha karna!
Rani takes Laskhmi's blessings and says
Rani : Maasi, mei apne dadi maa aur amma ko chitthi likhna chahti hun. Mere yahaan aaye hue do mahine ho gaye lekin meine abhi tak unhe apni koi khabar nahi di, kyonki mei unhe apne kaam karne ke baare mei kuch nahi bataana chahti thi. Lekin aaj khushi-khushi chitthi likh sakti hun. Kya koi woh chitthi post kardega mere liye?
Lakshmi (pointing to a place) : Haan. Wahaan peh kaagaz, kalam sab rakha hai. Jo chahe lelo. Jab chitthi tayaar ho jaaye toh mujhe de dena.
Rani thanks her, takes some paper and an envelop and goes to her room. She sits down to write to her family....
"Adaarneey Daadi aur Amma ko Raani kaa saadar pranaam aur mere pyaare bhai munna ko uski didi kaa pyaar........................"
Rani writes a 5 page letter!!!! She tells them everything about the Palace, about her roon, about the Royal family, about the new King, his coronation, about Pradhan, Lakshmi, Chintu. She tells them about how she helped to save Yudi and Rani maa's lives. She tells them about getting gifts from Rani maa. She tells them about how Rani maa trusts her and needs her services. She tells them that after some initial hiccups (does not mention, what they are) Rani maa has now arranged for her to be educated and she promises her mother that she will study hard and fulfill her dad's dream.
Then she will ask about everyone in the village.....her friend Geeta, the panditji in the temple, the astologer, neighbors, chacha, chachi, champa, chameli, chandu and everybody.
She will tell them how much she missed them. It will be a long letter!
And finally she will be done. She will fold all the papers and insert them into the the envelop. Then she writes an address on the top and hands it over to Lakshmi. Lakshmi promises to get it mailed the same day.

A couple of days later, in the village:
Its 2 months since Rani had left. Sumitra and dadi have not heard a thing about Rani. They are so tensed and worried for her. They had expected her to send a letter but everyday the postman went past their house without a letter. All these days both of them will be worried internally, but they will not express anything outside for fearing of weakening the other! But now Sumitra cannot hold it anymore! She is sitting at the hearth lost in Rani's thoughts.
Daadi (jolting her) : Arre bahu, kaa soch rahi hai?? Dhoodh ubalkar neeche gir rahaa hai, dekh!
Sumitra quickly grabs the milk vessel with a kitchen towel and brings it down.
Daadi (sees the sad face of Sumitra and says) : Tohraa dhyaan kidhar hai? Rani ke baara maa soch rahi thi kaa?
Sumitra turns to her mother-in-law
Sumitra : Amma, hame bahut darr lag rahaa hai. Raaj parivar ke saath Rani theek thaak seher pahunch gayi hai, ee khabar ka baad, aur kaunu khabar naahi aayi! Do mahine ho gaye! Rani ke paas se kaunu chitthi bhi nahi aayi...Hame Rani ki bahut chinta ho rahi hai!
Tears start flowing in her eyes.
Daadi : Haan, Rani koh gaye do mahine ho gaye. Lekin tu chinta mat kar, Rani padhai-likhai mei vyast ho gayi hogi. Aur phir seher maa pahli baar gayi hai, daak-khaana kahaan hai yeh sab usse kaise maaloom ho sakat hai? Dheere dheere sab seekh jaayegi aur phir chitthi bhi bhejegi.
Sumitra : Nahi amma, ab hum aur prateeksha nahi kar sakti hun. Hum munshiji ke paas jaakar poochat hai ke woh Rani ki koi khabar maaloom kar sakat hai kaa.
Daadi : Theek hai, poochkar aa. Hame bhi kuch prayatna karna chahiye.
Sumitra quickly wipes her tears, gets up and helps her moter-in-law to get up. They both come into the courtyard and she is about to wear her slippers when Munshiji and chachaji(whose name is Sudharshan) walk into the courtyard.
Daadi whispers to Sumitra : Raavan ko smaran kiyaa toh lo Raavan aa gayaa. 😡
Munshiji : Ram ram chachi! Kaisi ho? Namaste Sumitra bhauji, Sab kusal-mangal toh haina?
Chachaji goes and touches his mother's feet and wishes Sumitra.
Daadi (eyes Munshi and replies) : Abhi tak toh sab kusal-mangal tha, Phir ab tum aaye ho!
Munshi repulses against such a statement.
Daadi : Aaj subah subah darsan hue tumhaare, kaa khabar laaye ho?
Sumitra (quickly interjects) : Woh Munsiji, hum aap hi kaa ghar ki oor aa rahi thi. Bas nikal hi rahe the, itne mei aap donon aaye. Aaiye na, baithiye.
Sudarshan and Munshiji sit on 2 chairs.
Sumitra : Mei aap ke liye chai laati hun.
She goes in and gets both of them hot hot tea and gives it to them.
Sudarshan (showing fake concern) : Kaa hua bhauji, kaunu paresaani hai kaa?? Aap hamaare ghar kaahe aa rahi thi?
Daadi : Kyon? Paresaani hai toh tu kaa karegaa?
Sudarshan (looking hurt) : Yeh kaa amma, tum humpar kabhi visvaas naahi karat ho! Humi bhi toh tumhaara hi betaa hun na?
Daadi (with a sly look) : Aisan baat hai? Toh phir suno, hamkaa thoda paison ki jaroorat aan padhi hai. Usike vaaste tohaar ghar aana chah rahe the.
Sudarshan recoils visibly and swallows hard. Then he laughs nervously and says
Sudarshan : Acha..... Acha rupayaa chahiye! 😵 Mei toh....mei toh abhi de doo amma, par tum toh Chandrakala ko jaanti ho!!! Ekbaar....ekbaar ussko poochnaa..... 😔
Daadi gives him a withering 'I know your kind" look when Sumitra interjects
Sumitra : Naahi devarji, Humko kaunu paisa, rupayaa naahi chahiye!
Munshi and Sudarshan relax!
Sumitra (continues) : Hum toh Rani ke baara maa baat karne aana chah rahe the.
Munshi : Kyun bhauji?? Rani ke baaraa maa kya baat karni hai?
Sumitra : Munsiji, do mahine ho gaye Rani ko gaye. Uski naa koi khabar hai na koi chitthi aai hai. Humkaa bahut phikr ho rahi hai, ke wahaan kaisi hogi hamaari Rani!
Munshiji : Bhauji, kaahe paresaan ho rahi hai aap? Rani bitiyaa mehel maa rahne gayi hai, koi aashram maa naahi! Wahaan uske paas sab sukh hai, kaunoo kami naahi hai. Woh toh wahaan jaroor khus hogi! Nayi jagah hai, naye logon se milat hogi, isiliye khat likhne kaa samay naahi milaa hoga. Aap bilkul chinta mat keejiye.
Sumitra feels happy that Rani is enjoying many comforts. But Daadi says to Munshi
Daadi (angrily) : Woh sab toh theek hai, munshi. Lekin, ek baar bitiyaa ke baare mei jaanane mei kaa buraai hai? Rani ko bhejne ke pahile toh bade dilaase de rahat tha, ke hum jab chahe tab bitiyaa se baat kar sakat hai. Lekin ab toh jaankaari denemei bhi aage-peeche karat ho? 😡 😡
Sudarshan tries to calm his mother down.
Sudarshan : Arre nahi amma! Munsiji kaa kehne kaa matlab ee hai keh woh Rani kaa khabar jaldi hi laayenge, tab tak aap log paresaan na ho. Kyun munsiji, yahi kehna chahat ho na?
And he nudges Munshi.
Munshi (blurting) : Haan....haan, hum yahi kahnaa chahat hai. Chachi, hum jaldi hi Rani kaa khabar laavat hun. Baaki,wahi hoga jo raam chahe!
And then to avoid Dadi's piercing eyes he starts to drink the tea. He drinks a couple of sips and says
Munshi : Ahaha, Ahaha.....Sumitra bhauji, kaa chai banaaya hai!!! Yeh chai nahi amrut hai, amrut! Wah wah wah!
And he drinks his tea noisily. After a few sips he says
Munshi : Bhauji, aapko yaad hai na pichle hafte humne ek kaagaz ki baat khi thi? Wahi jisse hamaari kheton mei boring pump ki suvidha banaayi jaayegi....woh kaagaz laaya hun. Uspeh aap ka angutha ka nisaani chahiye. Sudarsan bhaiyya, bhauji ko kaagaz dikhaiye.
And he looks at Sudarshan meaningfully. 😈
Sudharshan : Haan, haan abhi dikhate hai!
And he opens his bag and takes a paper out. He hands it over to Sumitra. Sumitra takes the paper and looks at it. She cannot understand anything. She and daadi look at each other. They immediately remember the last time when they had given such a paper to Rani to read. They remember her and their eyes fill up with tears. Sudharshan extends the inkpad towards Sumitra. Daadi looks at Sudarshan and Munshi and can feel their greed and evilness. But she does not know if it is just a feeling or if something is really wrong. She looks helplessly at Sumitra 😕 who presses her thumb on the inkpad and goes ahead and applies her thumbprint on the paper while Sudarshan and Munshi look at the paper unbelievably happy and excited, that finally the work is done!!!!! ( 😔 )
