Here's another beautiful performance on Radha-Krishna by Sridevi Nrithyalya:
This song is called 'Kannan en Kadalan' - 'Krishna as Lover'.
Here, as opposed to the traditional biraha-struck nayika, Krishna is shown as more vulnerable. Here, he runs around Vrindavan, hallucinating as he sees Radha everywhere, but the moment he tries to touch her, she is gone.
What is the meaning of the silken garments, these invaluable jewels, the gopis and the gopas, and even my flute, he laments, if that does not lead me to my Radha?!
As Sri Rama, all that I had to do was break one bow, and my Lakshmi was mine, and look at me now! (I am) Roaming on the streets with this insatiable fire in my heart! Please Manmatha, no more of your burning arrow, I cannot take it anymore!
Neither food not any earthly comforts satisfies me now, bereft of the touch my Radha's feet! 'My head spins' as he falls on ground and spot Radha's footprint and talks to it and smears the dust all over himself!
This is such an intense portrayal, look closely even the dancer is crying! 😭
