Krishna in MB was wayy more serious, but when he joked, GOD, did he joke. 😆Most of the prankster came from <10 ka Krishna in SB. In MB, he was more inclined to word play and chariot play. The man got busy, samjha karo! 😆

Kans was childless. In some versions he is not Ugrasen's son but a product of rape(Indra ahilya style).Devaki was Kans ke " chacha ki beti".

Mathura was never a monarchy. It was a democracy type thing. Ugrasen was elected leader from different tribes. Thats why Kans usuruped it. He would have never got it legally.

But Shurasena was a Vrishni and the rest were Bhojas?

He is purnavatara. I think it as Symbol of every dimension of the human spirit. My personal opinion.

It is too long to be an essay. It is a book on Krishna. Krishnacharitra. There is even English translation of it.
