Chapter 3

Asad's residence:

*Next morning*

*Zoya was sleeping in her room, with Zeenat. She woke up to the sound of the alarm.*

Zoya (to herself): "main jaa k shower ly lete hoon. Phir koi idea sooch ti hoon jisi Tanveer ka saach sabke saamne aa jaye."

*Zoya takes out her clothes from the cupboard and goes to the washroom to take a shower. Meanwhile, Zeenat wakes up."

Zeenat (to herself): "Zoya kahan hai?"

*Zeenat sees the bathroom door closed."

Zeenat: "Shyad shower ly rahe ho gee. Main ja k Dilshad B k help karte ho naashta banane mein."

*Everyone after showering go to the breakfast table and eat. Everyone is silent. Zoya is the one to break the silence.*

Zoya: "Phophi, Appi, main abhi aate hoon. Do minute."

Zeenat: "Zoya kahan jaa rahe ho?"

Zoya: "Appi, mujhe koi kaam hai. Main kamre mein jaa rahe hoon. Abhi aate hoon.

Dilshad: "Theek hai beta, jao."

*Zoya goes to her room.*

At the breakfast table:

Ayan: "Bhaijaan, mujhe ghar phone kar k bata dena chaiye hai k mein apki ghar tha raat baar."

Asad: "Theek hai Ayan."

*Ayan gets up and goes to Zoya's room.*

*He enters Zoya's room.*

Ayan: "Mona."

Zoya: "Aacha hua tum aa gy ho Robert. Jo maine tumse camera's mangwy thay, wo ly aaye ho?"

Ayan: "Yes Mona, wo maine Bhaijaan k kamre mein rakhe hain."

Zoya: "Ayan, ek kam karo, wo mere kamre mein ly aao. Warna Mr. Khan ko koi shak na ho jaye."

Ayan: "Haan Mona, par abhi nahi. Main kisi bahane sy sab ko ghar sy bahar bejh ta hoon. Kisi ko tumhare plan k baare mein pata nahi chale ga."

Zoya: "Haan Ayan, yeh theek rahe ga."

*Flashback*

*After showering, Zoya walks out of her room and goes to the garden. There she bumps into Ayan.*

Zoya: "Ayan, tum yahan?

Ayan: "Haan, woh, Mona, mujhe tumse koi baat karne hai."

Zoya: "Haan kaho, kya hua?"

Ayan: "Wo jo b ho raha hai iss ghar mein, wo sab uss Tanveer ke wajah sy ho raha. Tumhara nikaah uske wajah sy toota, tumhare upar jo kal attack hua tha, wo b Tanveer ny kiya tha."

Zoya: "Haan, mujhe phele sy he pata hai yeh sab. Par tumhe kaise pata chala?"

Ayan: "Kya? Tumhe yeh pata tha? Toh phir kisi ko kuch bataya kyun nahi?"

Zoya: "Mere nikaah sy phele bhi Tanveer ny bohat attacks karwaye thay. Kisi ko uss par shak na ho, isliye usne apne upar he sare attacks karwaye thay. Ik baar usne apne app ko aag lagaye thee or uss aag sy burn marks hui thay, lekin wo naklee marks thay. Jab maine yeh baat Mr. Khan ko bataye thee, uno ny mera yakeen nahi kiya tha."

Ayan: "Kya? Bhaijaan ny ap py yakeen nahi kiya? Par woh toh apse mohabbat karte hain. Agar saach mein apse itne mohabbat karte hain apse, unko apka yakeen karna chaiya tha."

Zoya: "hmmm, par ek baat batao, tumhe kaise pata k Tanveer yeh sab kar rahe hai?"

Ayan: "Phele toh mujhe shak tha, par ab mera shak yakeen mein badal gaya. Kal raat ko jab ap pu attack hua tha, Bhaijaan ny kaha tha k main bahar jaa kar check karoon. Jab gaya tha, bahar maine black kapree dekhe thay. Or uske baad, Tanveer ko dekha tha. Wo garden k raste apne kamre mein chale gee thee. Tab mujhe laga tha k Tanveer ny wo attack karwaya. Par maine Bhaijaan ko ny bataya kyunki bina proof k wo mera yakeen kaise karte."

Zoya: "Ayan, ab sirf tum hi ho jo mera help kar sakta. Sirf tum hi ho jo mere madat kar sakta Tanveer ka saach sabke saamne lane k liye. Ayan please mere help karo."

Ayan: "Mona don't worry, main tumhare help zaroor karoon ga. Tumhara Robert jo hai. Ab dekhna uss Tanveer ka saach kaise aaye ga sabke saamne."

Zoya: "Thank you so much Robert. Ek kaam karo, tum yahan raho jab tak Tanveer ke asliyat sabke saamne aa jaye. Or ek or kaam, tum kaise b kar k 10 camera's arrange karo. Main wo ghar mein, or Tanveer k kamre mein laga te hoon. Aise jo b ab Tanveer karege, wo camera mein record ho jaye ga."

Ayan: "Haan, yeh good idea hai. Tum fikr maat karo. Main yahan par he rukh jata hoon jab tak Tanveer ko expose nahi kar lete."

*Zoya and Ayan smile at each other.*

Ayan (to himself): "Bhaijaan or aapke beech sab kuch theek kat k hi rahunga. Par usse phele, Bhaijaan ko apne galti ka ehsaas hona chaiye hai. Or wo main karwanaga."

*End of flashback*

Zoya: "Ayan, thank you."

Ayan: "Mona, friendship mein no sorry and no thank you."

Zoya: "Par tumhe jitna b thanks kahun wo kaam hai."

Ayan: "Mona-"

Asad (calls out): "Ayan, yahan aao, kaam hai."

Ayan (calls out): "Jee bhaijaan."

*Ayan smiles at Zoya and leaves.*

*Ayan enters Asad's room*

Ayan: "Jee Bhaijaan?"

Asad: "Ayan, mujhe office mein kaam hai. Main office ja raha hoon. Tum yahan par sab ka khayal rakhna. Main shaam tak aa jaonga."

Ayan: "Jee Bhaijaan, ap tension maat lein. Main yahan par sab ka khayal rakh loon ga."

*Asad leaves to go to his office. Ayan smiles.*

*Afternoon*

*Ayan enters Zoya's room with the camera's*

Ayan: "Mona, yeh lo, cameras."

Zoya: "Thank you Ayan. Ab mujhe kisi bahane sy sab ko ghar sy bahar bhej na ho ga."

Ayan: "Bhaijaan toh office chale gy hain. Ab Badi Ammi, Najma, or aapke Jiju ko kisi bahane sy ghar k bahar bhej na."

Zoya: "Ayan don't worry. Main kuch karte hoon. Worry not jab Zoya Farooqui hai."

*Ayan smiles*

Ayan (to himself): Mere Mona phele jaise ho rahe hai. Jo haaste hai or sab ko bhi haasati hai. Hamesha aise hi raina Mona. Bhaijaan ko unke Zoya bohat jald mile gee wapis."

*Zoya leaves the room. Dilshad, Najma, Zeenat, Anwar, and Tanveer are all sitting in the living room. Ayan comes out of the room too."

Zoya: "Phophi, woh main bazaar jaa rahe hoon."

Dilshad: "Theek hai jao. Main b chalte hoon tumhare saath."

Zeenat: "Zoya, mein b chalte hoon tumhare saath."

Zoya: "Shukriya, Phophi or Appi. Najma tum bhi aao humare saath. Jiju, ap hume drop kar dain gy?"

Anwar: "Haan Zoya, chalte hain."

*Everyone starts walking towards the door. Suddenly Zoya screams.*

Anwar: "Kya hua Zoya?"

Zoya: "Pata nahi, shyad paon mein mooch aaye hai. Aaa bohat dard ho raha hai."

Ayan: "Zoya, yahan aao. Sofe py betho."

*Zoya winks at Ayan. He realizes that she is pretending.*

Zeenat: "Ek kaam karty hain. Aaj nahi bazaar jaate. Jab Zoya ke mooch theek ho jate hai, phir chalte hai."

Zoya: "Nahi Appi. Ab sab jaye. Meri wajah sy ap apna plan spoil nahi kar sakte."

Zeenat: "Par plan toh tumhara tha. Tumhare bina kaise jaa sakty hain?"

Zoya: "Ap sab jaye. Waise b, Ayan yahan par hai, wo mera khayal rakh le ga. Or kisi ko Tanveer k saath b rukhna ho ga. Bechare pregnant hai. Akhele toh nahi chor sakty usko."

*Tanveer rolls her eyes."

Najma: "Par-"

Zoya: "Par war kuch nahi. Ap sab jaye, mere liye, please."

Dilshad: "Theek hai Zoya. Apna khayal rakhna, hum jaldi wapis aayenge."

Zoya: "Jee Phophi."

*Everyone leaves. Tanveer goes to her room."

Ayan: "Wah Mona wah, kya acting kat lete ho. Sab ko ghar sy bahar bhej diya."

Zoya: "Iss duniya mein aisa koi kaam nahi jo Zoya Farooqui nahi kar sakte."

Ayan: "Theek keh rahe ho. Main cameras leh kar aata hoon."

Zoya: "Haan Ayan."

*Ayan brings the cameras and him and Zoya put them all around the house."

Zoya: "Bas Tanveer k kamre mein lagana."

Ayan: "Haan, wo main kar loon ga, don't worry."

*Ayan enters Tanveer's room. He sees that she is in the washroom. He quickly hides one camera in her room and leaves. Tanveer comes out of the washroom. She is talking to someone on the phone. All of this is getting recorded in the camera (will reveal her talks when she gets exposed). Meanwhile, Zoya is in the living room."

Zoya: "Ayan, ho gaya?"

Ayan: "Yes Mona. Main kamre mein jaa raha hoon. Tum yahan raho. Agar tum yahan akhele ho, Tanveer zaroor tum par koi attack kare gee. Or wo sab iss camera mein record ho jaye ga."

Zoya: "Haan Ayan, yeh theek rahe ga. Namaz ka waqt ho raha. Main jaa kar fresh ho jaate hoon."

*Ayan goes to his room and Zoya goes to freshen up. When she comes back, she sees Tanveer in the living room."

Tanveer: "Zoya."

Zoya: "Kya hai Tanveer? Main abhi Namaz parne wale hoon. Please mujhe disturb maat karo."

Tanveer: "Haan, aaj waise b tumhare akhari raat hai iss duniya mein. Or phir uskr baad, tum apne Allah Miyan k paas chale jao gee."

Zoya: "Tanveer, tum kuch bhi kar lo. Par dekty hain aaj kis ki jeet hote hai."

Tanveer: "Zoya, Zoya, Zoya. Mujhe tum par bohat taras aata hai. Tumhe lagta tum jeeto gee. Par tumhe jaan sy maar k mein jeetoon gee. Tum mere raaste mein zyada dair tak nahi rai sakte. Jo Billo Rani k raaste mein atta hai, usse mein ek na ek din jaan sy maar dete hoon. Dekhna Zoya, main jeetoon gee aaj."

Zoya: "Apni bakwas band karo. Bohat dino sy tumhe tolerate kat rahe hoon main. Par ab or nahi. Sab k saamne tumhara saach laa kar rahoon gee. Dekhna tum. Jeet sirf meri ho gee. Tum aaj haar jao gee Tanveer."

*Tanveer starts laughing. Zoya sits and closes her eyes and starts praying.*

Tanveer: "Tum aaj nahi baacho gee Zoya. Mere raaste mein aaye thee. Ab dekhna kya ho ga tumhari saath. Koi nahi baacha payi ga tumhe."

*Zoya is still praying. Tanveer gets a bottle of kerosene and pours it in a circle, all around Zoya."

Tanveer: "Main dekh tee hoon kohn tumhe baacheye ga. Bechari Zoya."

*Tanveer laughs and lights a match. She throws the match on the ground. Soon, the fire, in a circle, is all around Zoya. Zoya is fully trapped inside the fire."

Tanveer: "Allah Hafiz Zoya."

*Zoya finishes praying and opens her eyes. She sees fire and gets scared. She starts screaming. Tanveer is laughing.*

Zoya (screaming): "Ayan mujhe baachao. Aaa aag. Mr. Khaaan. Koi mujhe baachaye."

*Zoya's nightmare starts playing in her head. She is screaming and shouting in fear. Ayan comes out of his room. Tanveer quickly goes to her room so she doesn't get caught.*

Ayan (screams): "Monaaa!"

Zoya (screams): "Ayan, please mujhe baacha lo. Mujhe aag sy bohat daar lagta."

*Just then, Asad unlocks the door. Him and his entire family enter. They all see the fire, with Zoya trapped in it. They also see Ayan trying to stop the fire by pouring buckets of water on it. Everyone screams "Zoya"*

Asad: "ZOYAAA. Tumhe kuch nahi ho ga. Main aa gaya hoon."

Zoya: "Mr. Khan, please mujhe baacha lein. Apko pata mujhe aag sy bohat daar lagta. Mr. Khan."

*Zoya is still crying, screaming and shouting. Tanveer comes out of her room and pretends to be shocked at what happened*

Tanveer (to herself): "In sab ko abhi hi ana tha? Mera sara plan fail ho gaya."

Dilshad: "Ya Allah, meri Zoya ko baacha lo."

Zeenat: "Meri baache. Agar Zoya ko kuch ho jaye ga, mein jee nahi paon gee."

Najma: "Zoyaaa."

*Everyone is crying and screaming. The fire is spreading more and it's getting closer to Zoya. Asad and Ayan are pouring many buckets of water on the fire*

Asad: "Zoya, kuch nahi ho ga tumhe."

Zoya: "Mr. Khan, mujhe baacha ly."

*Suddenly Zoya faints. The fire, after many struggles got put out. Asad goes running to Zoya. He lifts her in his arms and carries her to the couch. He makes her lay down (Sad Mitwa). Everyone is still worried and crying."

Dilshad: "Ayab, doctor ko phone karo."

Zeenat: "Meri Zoya, meri jaan."

Anwar: "Dekho meri baache ka kya khayal ho gaya. Yeh sab kaise hua?"

*Ayan calls the doctor.*

Ayan: "Jiju, mujhe khud nahi pata. Main kamre mein tha or Zoya Namaz par rahe thee. Wo chalyi thee toh main baagta aaya tha. Jab aaya, maine dekha tha aag lage hui thee."

Asad (anger): Tanu, tum kahan thee? Tumhe Zoya ke awaz nahi aaye thee?"

Tanveer: "Wo Jammy, hum bohat gehri neend main thay."

Asad: "Agar Ayan nahi hota yahan, pata nahi kya ho jata."

*The doctor arrives. He does Zoya's check up*

Doctor: "Don't worry, she is fine. Bas shock sy unconscious ho gee thee. Abhi kosh aa jaye ga. Main chalta hoon."

Dilshad: "Thank you doctor. Ayan unko darwaze tak chor aao."

Ayan: "Jee."

*Zoya slowly opens her eyes.*

Zoya: "M-Mr. Khan.."

*Zoya sits up.*

Dilshad: "Zoya beta tum theek ho?"

Zoya: "J-Jee Phophi."

Asad: "Yeh sab kaise hua Ms. Farooqui?"

*Zoya stares at Tanveer*

Asad: "Zoya, tum Tanu k taraf kyun dekh rahe ho?"

Zoya: "Mr. Khan, yeh sab Tanveer ny kiya."

Asad (shocked): "Nahi, Tanu aisa kabhi nahi kar sakte. Zaroor tumhe koi galat feme hui hai."

Tanveer (faking): "Zoya, tum yeh kya keh rahe ho? Main tumhare saath aisa kabhi nahi kar sakte. Sapne mein b nahi sooch sakte."

Zoya: "Jooth mat bholo Tanveer, yeh sab tumne kiya."

Asad (angry): "Ms. Farooqui, ap yeh kya keh rahe hain? Apka dimag toh theek?"

Zoya: "Jee Mr. Khan. Yeh sab Tanveer ny kiya, mera yakeen ki jiye."

Tanveer: "Nahi Jammy, ap mera yakeen karein. Mujhe aise kar k kiya milega?"

Asad (angry): "BAS! Ms. Farooqui, main Tanveer ko bachpan sy janta hoon. Wo aise kabhi nahi kar sakte."

Ayan: "Bhaijaan, Zoya theek keh rahe hai."

Asad: "Ayan, tum bhi?"

Ayan: "Jee Bhaijaan. Ek minute, main apko proof dekhata hoon."

*Tanveer is shocked and scared. Ayan brings the camera from the living room and Tanveer's room, takes the memory card out. He plugs the living room one in the laptop. Everything plays. Everything Tanveer said to Zoya and how she put the fire on. Everyone including Tanveer is shocked. Asad is so angry. Then Ayan takes that memory card out and plugs in the other one. The one from Tanveer's room.*

*Memory card*

*Shown that Tanveer is talking to someone on the phone.*

Tanveer: "Mujhe uss Zoya ko apne raaste sy hatana ho ga. Or wo tab he ho ga jab wo zinda nahi rahe gee. Iss baar wo baach nahi sakte. Kaal raat ko jo attack maine kiya tha, wo tab b baache gaye thee. Ajmer mein, cliff sy daka diya tha, phir b baach gaye thee. Ajmer mein, dewaar k andhar band kiya tha. Uske sangeet par, chandelier uske upar girya tha, knife sy b hamla karne wale thee par pata nahi har baar kaise baach jaate hai. Bohat sakht jaan hai yeh. Phir iss baar nahi baache gee. Zoya ke mott k baad, Asad sy mai nikaah kar loon gee or mere bache ko uska naam dy doin gee. Haha uss bachare ko lagta yeh bacha uska hai. Par saach mein nahin hai. Zoya k nikaah wale din kuch nahi hua tha humare beech mein. Sab kuch aik natak tha, ta ke Zoya or Asad k shaadi na ho. Or ab dekho, Asad hamare kareeb aane lage hain. Ek baar Zoya ko raaste sy hata doin, toh Asad k sirf main hoon gee.

*Tanveer laughs evilly.*

*End of clip*

*Asad is red in anger. Zoya and Ayan smile at each other. Tanveer is shocked and scared. The rest of the family is shocked.*

Asad: "Tanveer, maine kabhi sapne mein b nahi soocha tha k tum aisa kar sakte ho. Tumhare itne himaat. Mere Zoya ko kitne baar maarne k koshish k. Wo bechari mujhe kehte rahe k yeh sab tumne kiya. Par maine kabhi uss par yakeen nahi kya." (Sad Mitwa).

Tanveer: "J-Jammy please. Yeh sab jooth hai. Zaroor iss Zoya ny yeh nakhle video banaya. Jammy please mera yakeen karein."

Asad: (screams) Tanveer, jooth bolna band karo. Tumhara saach as gaya sabke k saamne. Tumhare liye better ho ga agar tum sab kuch confess kar do. Agar nahi karo gee, toh main inspector ko phone kar k kahoon ga k tumhe arrest kar lein.

*Tanveer falls to Asad's feet.*

Tanveer (angry): "Haan, haan maine yeh sab kiya. Jo b iss video mein tha, wo sab saach hai. Maine kitne baar iss Zoya ko marne k koshish k hai par pata nahi kaise baach jate hai har dafa."

Asad (angry): "Yahan sy chale jao, abhi. Mujhe tumhare shakal b nahi dekhne."

Tanveer: "Jammy, please mujhe maaf kar dain. Please ek or chance dy dain.

Asad: "Ek or chance? Ta ke mera yakeen phir sy todo yan Zoya ko phir sy jaan sy marne k koshish karo?"

Tanveer: "Khala, khala please mujhe maaf kar dain."

*Dilshad slaps Tanveer across the face, a tight slap*

Dilshad: "Zoya bechari ny tumhare kabhi kya begara? Tumne usse marne k koshish ki? Bete bana k maine tumhe iss ghar mein rakha ta. Tumne hum sab ka bharosa thoda. Main tumhe kabhi maaf nahi kar sakte."

*Zeenat even slaps Tanveer across the face*

Zeenat: "Tumhari itne himat? Meri behan ny tumhara kya begara? Iss masoom se baache ko tum marne chale thee?"

Asad (anger): "Tanveer, yahan sy nikhal jao, issi phele k main tumhe jaan sy maar doon."

Tanveer: "Jammy-"

*Asad in anger flips the table. Everyone gets scared and shocked.*

Asad: "MUJHE JAMMY MAAT KAHO. HUMARI DOSTI HATAM. NIKHAL JAO YAHAN SY."

Zoya: "Dekha Tanveer, maine kaha tha tumhara saach ek na ek din sab k saamne aa jana tha."

Tanveer: "Zoya, tumhe toh main choro gee nahi."

*Tanveer goes up to Zoya and tries to strangle her. Asad grabs her and moves her. Zoya is coughing*

Dilshad: "Najma, Zoya k liye paani leh kar aao."

Najma: "Jee Ammi." (gives a disgusted look to Tanveer).

Asad: "Zoya ko haath mat lagana warna main tumhe aaj saach mein maar doon ga."

Tanveer: "Jammy please, ek akhari chance dy dain, please."

Asad: "Nikhal jao yahan sy, warna-"

Tanveer: "Ek minute, isse phele mein yahan sy jaon, ek bast kehna chate hoon. Zoya k Abbi zinda hain. Wo mare nahin. Maine he apko or Zoya ko mislead kiya tha. Koi nahi chata tha k Zoya apne Abbu k baare mein jaane. Maine bas uss insaan k madat ke thee. Zoya k Abbu zinda hain."

*Everyone is shocked. Zoya falls to the ground and cries.*

Zoya: "M-mere Abbu zinda hain?"

*Zoya is crying so muvh. Najma hugs her.*

Najma: "Zoya, apne ap ko sambhalo. Hum sab apke madat karenge apke Abbu ko dhoonde mein. Don't worry.*

Zoya (crying): "M-mere Abbu."

*Dilshad and Zeenat drag Tanveer out of the house. No one is listening to her pleading. They throw her out of the house and close the door.*

Dilshad: "Zoya beta, tum theek ho? Tumne yeh sab hume phele kyun nahi bataya?"

Zoya (still crying): "Jee phophi, main theek hoon. Kais batate? Mr. Khan ko phele b kaafi baar batane k koshish ke thi. Par uno ny mera yakeen kabhi nahi liya."

*Asad walks up to Zoya, hugs her while crying.*

Asad (crying): "Zoya, I'm sorry. Please mujhe maaf kar do. Zoya really sorry. Maine tumhare saath bohat galt kiya. Please mujhe maaf kar do."

*Zoya pushes Asad away, still crying.*

Zoya: "Mr. Khan, apko maaf? Apne mera dil bohat dukhya hai. Agar saach mein mujhse mohabbat karte hain, toh mera yakeen kyun nahi kiya? Mere saath kyun nahi kari hui? Mujhe bilkul akhele chor diya tha apne. Apnq mera dil thoda hai. Mere liye ehsaan nahi ho ga. Main nahi maaf kar sakte apko. Yeh sab bhoolein mein waqt lage ga."

Asad: "Zoya, main jaanta hoon maine apka dil bohat duhkiya hai. Par ap jo kahyenge, main woh karoon ga. Please mujhe maaf kar do. I'm sorry Zoya."

Zoya: "Nahi Mr. Khan. Please mujhe akhele chor dy. Main New York wapis chale jaate par ab jab mujhe mere Abbu k baare mein pata chal gaya, main nahi jaa sakte. Mera zindagi k sab sy bara mission hai mere Abbu ko dhoondna. Or main woh mission adhure nahi chor sakte."

Ayan: "Bhaijaan, sahi toh keh rahe hai Mona. Apne uss ka dil bohat dukhiya hai. Itne ehsaani sy wo apko maaf nahi kar payi gee."

Asad: "Ayan-"

Ayan: "Bhaijaan, ap mujhse kuch expect maat ki jiye. Main Zoya k saath hoon. Apko apne galti k liye kuch aisa karna ho ga, jisi sab ko lage ap saach mein guilty feel kar rahe hain. Zoya ko dekhana ho ga k ap usse kitne mohabbat karte hain. Apko apni galti fix karne ho gee."

Dilshad: "Asad, Ayan bilkul theek keh raha hai."

Zoya (still crying): "Ayan, help k liye thank you. Main tumhara yeh favor kabhi nahi bhoolon gee. Main apne kamre mein jaa rahe ho. Kuch same k liye akhele rehna chate hoon."

Ayan: "Mona, main hamesha tumhare saath hoon."

Dilshad: "Haan Zoya. Tum jaa k aram kar lo. Bohat thak gaye ho gee. Aaj bohat kuch hua. Hum sab ko jaa keh soo jana chaiye hai."

Zeenat: "Jee, goodnight."

*Everyone goes to their rooms. Ayan goes back home. Everyone is still upset over the happenings.*

Precap: Asad trying to convince Zoya. Also, helping her find her Abbu even though she doesn't want his help.
