CHAPTER-5
Zoya: Mr khan let's start we have to finish the preparations before phupphi come home ...nd have to hide it all till tewelve o'clock...

I will do it miss Faroouqi...you rest said he

No Mr khan we will do it please...I am all okay now ...please...said she making a puppy dog face to which he could not refuse...

...at six in evening...

Zoya was buzy setting flowers and Asad was giving last touch to the satin and ballons...when they were done they looked at each other and gave a mission accomplished smile...which soon vanished as the door bell ringed

How come phupphi home so soon...now how will we hide all this ...we can't even by switching off the lights...its still not dark...said a tensed zoya

Asad moved towards the gate...unknown how to handle the situation...he opened the gate slightly

Najma squiled bhaijaan what took you so long...
Nd then saw their house covered by white and purple flowers ,ribbons ,ballons
...wow bhaijaan you did it ...

To which Asad said we did it...pointing towards zoya who was hiding behind the table...in fear that phupphi came home ...nd by her ultimate logic thought that by closing the eyes and hiding behind table she could hide the decorations...

Tamatar its you said zoya opening her eye and running towards her...to which Najma just laughed in delight

And Asad was watching her antics...a faint smile playing on his lips

SUddenly Asad phone started ringing it was Dilshad...she told Asad that her car broke down so he could send another car their by 9:30 to which he agreed...he called the driver to take the long way snd bring Dilshad there by 12o'clock exactly...

...at 10:30 pm...

Zoya went to her room again while Asad had checked all items for upteenth time ...he saw her tired face and remembered that this girl has overdone it again...she is tired hungry and then also does not agree to eat food alone as she will have it with all of them...when Dilshad came...

.He knocked the door of her room...

Ji Mr khan...andar aa jayo

Asad was shocked how come she know its him...means he know that zoya knew the fact that Najma was in the study room ...but then too...his thoughts were broken by her chirping but soft voice.."kya hua Mr khan"...as if she is just forcing it to come out

Ms Faroouqi just sleep for an hour ...nd before ammi comes I will wake u up...to which she agreed easily..nd Asad was suprised that she didn't said no but soon realization dawned on him that may be she is too tired to argue...

...
Zoya's mind was wandering here and there...she was not tired but emotinally drained...phupphi for her was a motherly figure..she was having mixed feelings ...one at the loss of mother at such a tender age which she can never recover.she never got to do anything for her parents...nd on side she was happy to be there with phupphi...with Najma...with Asad ... For the first time in life that what is the bond that a child and his mother shared ...by living with these wonderful people then she mentally repeated what she thought... About Asad she repeated her own thoughts in her mind feeling them ...thinking is Mr khan also special for her...her thoughts were broken by a knock on the door...she saw Asad entering her room..
...she didn't know when these tears rolled on her face...she tried to wipe them ...but before she could wipe them...
he caught the glimpse of her teary face...

But Before he could say anything most probably asked anything...she said Mr khan phupphi must be home any movement...seeing the clock...go grab your guitar...

...in the hall ... It's ..11:59 ...

The door opened ...it was all dark

Dilshad entered and was tensed seeing the hall so dark...no light visible

12:00

A guitar tune started playing...nd then lights on ...Asad was sitting on couch playing guitar...Najma decended from the floor singing...
Tu kitni acchi hai ...tu kitni pyari hai...
..nd then Asad joined her in singing...maa

...Dilshad was overwhlemed seeing her two most precious gems singing for her...it was then she noticed all the flowers ,decorations, nd than a choclate cake...her eyes breaming with tears of happiness...

Oh Asad ,Najma beta today you made me feel so special ...I am proud to be your mother
I am blessed to have children like you nd Najma inspire of your exams you did all this said Dilshad

No ammi I have not done anything its all done by bhaijaan and zoya...this is when Dilshads eye searched for zoya and uderstood about zoya and asads untimely meetings...she looked at zoya who was standing in a corner watching a perfect family she always carved for...tears visible in her eyes...she understood that zoya was emotinal...and missing her mother

Dilshad called zoya and kissed her on her forehead...but her eyes went somewhere else...
