Zack managed to reach the hotel on time 'will you ever learn to be on time Zack' Asma scolded her son 'Sorry Ammi...come on lets go, I have a taxi waiting downstairs' as they made their way to the airport Zack got a call from Asad.
'Zack I can't believe you are leaving already...' 'Sorry Leo, I will be coming back in a couple of weeks' time, I have left all the relevant paper work with Mona, she will give it to you' 'I don't care about the paper work...where are you now?' 'On way to the airport' 'fine I will meet you there...don't you dare board that plane without having met me'.
Asma and Zoya went to get a coffee whislt Zack waited for Asad 'Leo' he shouted out as he saw him walk past. Asad walked up to him and embraced him with a hug 'you come back to India after a whole month and you were going to disappear without meeting me?' 'Yes...no...I mean...I forgot to tell you that Angel had been booked for a special concert, now that it is over was just going back home with everyone' 'Yeah, Ammi told me...so do I get to meet her or what...you have been engaged for nearly three months now and I still haven't met her' 'Of course let me go and get her'
As Zoya sipped her coffee she stopped almost choking 'Angel...beta are you ok...what happened' Asma asked patting her back as she coughed 'Ammi...I...' Zoya started to look around at the same time her face started to lose colour 'Angel, look at me' Asma said beginning to get worried. Zoya ignored what she had said, she stood up and walked away from Asama looking through the crowds 'Angel' Asma called out again. Zoya placed her hand over her heart and clutched at her chest 'Ammi...I can feel him...he is here' Asma looked at her confused 'who beta...who is here, who can you feel' 'As...' Zoya stopped as she realised what she was about to say 'no...nothing...I mean Zack...Ammi he is taking forever can we go through departures please we can meet him there'. Zoya closed her eyes and took in a deep breath after so long she felt her heart pick up pace, it beat hard against her ribcage but she knew it was not possible, Asad was no longer alive so how could she have felt his presence.
Zack came to where he had last seen them to find them gone, he took out his phone to call her 'Angel where are you...Leo is here I wanted you to meet him' 'Oh...I am so sorry Zack me and Ammi have come through departures...' 'It's ok; I will be there in a few minutes'
'Sorry Leo, they have cleared through the departure gate already' 'that's ok...I guess I will get to see you all next month' Asad was about to leave when he called him back 'Leo, I totally forgot...Musicology just signed a deal with Ronit...' 'Yeah, how do you know?' 'Ronit is Angel's producer, she is one of your new singers, she signed a 2 year deal this yesterday afternoon' Asad looked at him wide eyes 'that Angel is your Angel?' he asked in disbelief 'yes...so know you know what she looks like'. Asad looked at him slightly embarrassed 'actually no, I have no idea...but will make a point of seeing her picture' Zack started laughing 'I can't believe you, I told you... you know nothing about music so why musicology?' 'And I told you that I didn't need to know anything it's what I employ people for' Zack froze as he heard what Asad had just said. Zack held Asad by his arms 'you...you remember saying that...Leo...you remembered' Asad looked at him confused 'why wouldn't I remember...' Zack couldn't help smiling he hugged his friend dearly 'I will see you soon'.
As they boarded the plane Zack called Doctor Iqbal, the very same doctor that was looking after Asad to tell him about what had just happened 'Zack that is great, its shows that small fragments of his past are filtering through, I had a call from Mrs Khan a few weeks ago saying something very similar...I don't know how long it will take but I am sure that Asad will regain much of his memory back' 'In Sha Allah doctor In Sha Allah'.
Asad walked in to his room and took off his jacket; he took out his clothes and showered. Every day he did exactly the same thing, he would shower and change and then sit on his bed. He would open up his bedside cabinet and took out the little red box that had her engagement in it. Asad didn't know who the ring was for or why he had it, but it was the only thing he had from that day and it was something he held onto. Asad knew that he had suffered injuries that caused him to lose his memory, even though something seeped through now and again nothing around him helped trigger anything more.
If Asad was an Akdu before there was really no word to describe him now. Mona was the only one who was ever brave enough to face him and that was only because she knew him; a lot of the staff had left and didn't know Asad as well and it was also because RDI had moved from Delhi to Mumbai. Only Mona understood that the man they saw in front of them was not as harsh and rude as he made out to be.
Asad walked out to sit with Dilshad 'Ammi, they have a telecast of Angel's concert, do you mind if I watch it?' 'Of course not...you know when I met her today...you would never think she is such a big star, she is absolutely beautiful Asad' Asad narrowed his eyes 'Ammi why do you keep calling me that...its Leo...' Dilshad let out a laugh 'sorry...I keep forgetting...Leo, you sit and watch I will get you something to eat'.
Asad waited to for the programme to start and as it did he sat up straight and waited for Angel to come on. At the same time Dilshad called out for him 'Leo, can you please get this down for me' 'coming' Asad walked towards the kitchen and then stopped as he heard her voice. He turned quickly shot his head around and looked at the screen, Asad felt as if his heart beat had started to fade, he tried to breath but couldn't bring himself to 'Leo...will you hurry up' Dilshad called out again. After waiting another few moments Dilshad walked towards the living room to see Asad starring at the TV.
Dilshad's eyes widened at seeing him, his face looked like it had been drained of life, his eyes were watery and his lips were trembling. Dilshad quickly put her hand on his shoulder and turned him towards her 'Beta...what happened, you look like you have seen a ghost...are you ok?' 'Am...Ammi...that is Angel?' Not understanding his physiological reactions, Dilshad looked at the screen and started smiling 'yes beta, Angel, Zack's fianc...why?' 'Ammi do I know her...I mean she looks...' Asad held the side of his head that had started to throb with excruciating pain 'Leo...what happened' Dilshad called out in panic as Asad's body started to go limp.
Dilshad managed to get Asad to sit down before she called the doctor.
The doctor gave Asad an injection to help him relax 'Mrs Khan, I haven't seen Leo react like this for a long time...what happened?' 'I am not sure, he was watching TV and all of a sudden he started feeling ill, he just grabbed on his head and started to fall' 'Hmm...it may be possible that he saw something that triggered his memory, or at least put pressure on that part of his brain, I would like you to bring him in to the clinic, I would like to do another CT scan' I will do doctor, thank you'.

Apologies I have not been able to get back to any of you, and this time it's not because I was being rubbish it's because I was away from home on a training course and just got back today.
Thank you so so much to all of you who have liked the story so far, it was really encouraging to read some of your feedback. Not all of you did like it or have been liking the story for a while, some of you have decided to quit reading altogether. All I can say is thank you for supporting it for as long as you did.
I have always promised a happy ending and it will be. You question Zoya's decision and actions, all will start to become a lot more clearer and things will start to work out, so please trust me as a writer to do the right thing. The main point a lot of people have failed to understand is that Zoya believes that she lost Asad, that he died. What happened after she was found by the Malik family, what she went through and how she truly got to where she is today was touched on but will be explained in greater detail in future. She hasn't forgotten Asad nor has she stopped loving him.
I can't make it any more clearer than this. I can only hope you continue to support the story and if you decide to quit then that's ok too.
