Well technically i am a reader turned writer😆.

First of all i appreciate you for voicing out what you feel👏

I can exactly understand from where your frustration comes. i often feel that also.

But what i dont agree with you is regarding your one line.

If i may quote,

This is wrong dear. because i have seen many good writers in this forum (including the TM) commenting on the new writer's stories.

Yeah its true that they are not getting that many spammers and followers but hey isnt it because of the friendship that the the other writers already have with the forum members?

but it doesnt mean that they are not giving a chance to the new comers. When i started writing many of these already established writers supported me.

and even i spammed many of the new writers' threads. i left doing that once they became somewhat famous in the forum.

Thats all i wanted to tell😊 correct me if i misunderstood your words😳 cya😊

You're right you know...if people have the time to read a whole long update...surely they must have time to drop in a genuine comment. One words or two or three sometimes feels like someone is doing you a favor or something. I hope more and more people read your post... because it is so open and honest, like both readers and writers should be about their opinions.
If a reader gives proper insight and thoughts about the story/update...it helps and encourages the writer as well. And i completely agree with you on the point of writing for even just one genuine reader...is better than writing for a hundred who will reply with nothing but a word.

I meant readers at large and other writers too. That would be shallow of me to say! *see what I mean! writing is not my thing, I normally confuse myself too!*

And these underdogs I speak of? They get like four to five digit views. Legit. And only four to five comments. Sad. Well.



However, as aforementioned, I complete understand your plight. If readers were to comment pm me for every update, I'd get a lil annoyed.

And well if the comment does just say pm me...it must be good right? And cont soon means they are eagerly waiting for the next part. And awsm. Awesome can never go wrong. Awesome update. I don't know...am trying to be positive! Some word their comments nice and proper. Some don't. But these are the ones that you know shall always be there. Every story every update!

And here I sound like a mean protester! You guys write real great stuff. I'm always impressed. Have I ever comment as you guys pointed out...? I wonder how I'm rated as a reader. Hmm. I know I've never asked for PMs. Maybe. Hee!

I am just a reader and I understand what you guys feel when you don't get much appreciation for your work. But we are READERS and we don't write. We are not good with words like you guys are but still we try to say whatever we feel like saying in our ways. Some say nice update...some quote beautiful story and continue soon. What can we do. Sometimes it becomes really difficult for us to put our thoughts into words because we are a mere reader. And we don't know how to put 2 plus 2 and make 4. That's us. And you guys are also right at your place. Only the situation varies here. You want us to appreciate your work and we try to do that but somehow fails you in the process and we think we can never give you the best appreciation you guys deserve. Just a point of view.

Oh I asked coz there's plenty great ones written on them! And no promotion coz well not as many read them.


And you guys are real sweet, being nice to me. I guess like Mrinalini pointed out, there sure will always be a gap. And thank you for trying to bridge it!

couldn't agree more. whenever I comment on someone's work I make sure that I write at least 3-5 sentences giving in depth analysis of their piece. even if I have nothing to write I still manage to focus on some of the highlights an appreciate them for it.

but then whenever I spend time writing out long updates it seems that a huge majority of my work (like u said) is awesome or loved it. as glad I am that the reader liked it I would like tem to point out my mistakes; what I can improve on and what they would like to see

I hope your post helps people realize what effects their short comments have on us

Well personally speaking as I mentioned in my comment above, I really want feedback. Whether it's a paragraph or a line doesn't matter to me. But I would like something like "I really like the part when so and so happened" or even "I wish you changed this scene and made it that way" you know? Comments that tell me how I did and I'm no professional writer so I could always use so improvement 😊
