Chapter 19 Day 5 - Wedding DayThe wedding day had come. Everyone was getting ready at Zayn's residence. In his room, Aahil had just finished combing his hair. He wore a gold sherwani suit with a red rose tucked in his front pocket as Zayn wanted all his friends to wear one. As Aahil had finished getting ready, he was calling out "Basanti...we'll be late! You may be a princess...but that doesn't mean you can just take your time like this!"
"I'm coming!" Sanam called out from the bathroom as she finished changing. Sanam stepped out of the bathroom. Aahil turned to her, becoming mesmerized at seeing her appearance. Sanam was dressed in a white ghagra choli with a floral ghagra skirt. Red and gold embroidery flowed over the dress. Her hair was all let out on both of her shoulders, straight and shiny. I wonder if she even knew...that white is my favorite color, Aahil thought to himself as he continued to stare at Sanam. Coincidence? Sanam looked at Aahil's sherwani look, intrigued by the gold color. Wonder why he is looking at me like that? Sanam asked herself. Aahil came back to his senses and said, "We should go down. We don't want to be late." With that, Aahil left the room with Sanam looking on.
"Wonder what's with him?" Sanam asked. Sanam shrugged her shoulders. She found her dupatta lying on the bed. It was a red one with forest green and pink embroidery. She wore it around her arms. "Aaliyah was right...this one is beautiful." Sanam smiled. Sanam headed downstairs to the wedding hall where all the guests had gathered. Zayn and Aaliyah were seated on both sides of the altar. Aaliyah saw Sanam and signaled her to come by. Sanam came to Aaliyah's side of the altar. "Sit here with me." Aaliyah told Sanam. Sanam sat with Aaliyah, admiring her beauty in her bridal outfit. She was wearing a red and green lehenga choli, with a gold and silver embroidery. She wore golden jhumka earrings, four diamound necklaces, a gold nose ring, gold bangles with diamonds encrusted in them, and golden anklets on her feet. "Mashalllah...you're looking amazingly beautiful." Sanam praised Aaliyah.
"You too, Sanam. I knew this would look nice on you." Aaliyah complimented Sanam. Sanam smiled. She looked in front to see Zayn on the other side of the altar, smiling at Aaliyah. But what really caught her eye was Aahil, who was sitting beside Zayn. The two of them continued to look at each other, passion in their eyes as they felt a sense of attraction. The rituals began as all the guests had come and the imam had arrived. "Aaliyah Shaikh, Zakeer Shaikh aur Zaiba Shaikh ki beti, kya aapko yeh nikkah qubool hai?" the imam asked Aaliyah. Aaliyah smiled, looking directly at Zayn and saying, "Qubool hai." She repeated three times as according to the rituals.
"Zayn Abbdullah, Usman Abdullah aur Surraiya Abdullah ka beta, kya aapko yeh nikkah qubool hai?" the imam asked Zayn. Zayn did what Aaliyah did, and looked at her shy face. As soon as she looked into his eyes, he replied, "Qubool hai." After repeating three times, the guests all smiled at the newly wedded couple. Aahil hugged Zayn while Sanam hugged Aaliyah. "Mubarak ho, Aaliyah!" Sanam exclaimed.
"Sanam...I've only known you for five days...but in these five days...you've been like a sister to me. Thank you."
"You're most welcome, Aaliyah."
"And one thing, make sure you always stay in touch with me. We'll have to meet again."
"Of course! But we still have the reception."
"Right. We should get going."
At the reception, all the guests sat at their reserved seats. Aahil and Sanam sat at their table which was next to Zayn and Aaliyah's. So...the whole marriage act ends after this, Sanam thought to herself. I want to feel relieved...but for some reason...I'm not. Wonder why?
She must be relieved that the marriage act is over, Aahil thought to himself. Well...it was...well...I don't even want to admit it... Aahil and Sanam kept looking at each other. Just then, Zayn called them over as pictures with the newly wedded couple were being taken. Aahil and Sanam got up and went to Zayn and Aaliyah, posing with them for pictures. After pictures were done, the dancing began. It all started with energetic performances by little kids dancing to high energy Bollywood numbers. After the performances, all the married couples were called to dance on the dance floor along with Zayn and Aaliyah. Because of which, Aahil and Sanam had to dance as well. Aahil held Sanam's hand, putting his other hand around her back, while Sanam had her other hand on his shoulder. The two danced slowly along with the song that was playing which was Tum Hi Ho from the film "Aashiqui 2". They were drawn towards each other as they danced. Zayn and Aaliyah looked at them as they danced and smiled. "Mashallah. They're a beautiful couple." Aaliyah told Zayn as she continued to dance with Zayn.
"I agree. In Allah's grace, they shall be together always." Zayn smiled. When the song had ended, Aahil and Sanam still couldn't take their eyes off each other.
Late at night, after the reception had ended, Aahil and Sanam were in their room. Sanam was asleep, while Aahil was getting ready to go to bed. Just then, he received a call on his cellphone. He quickly answered it, "Sir, how are you?"
"I'm fine, Aahil," Aslam saab answered, sitting at the throne. "How are you?"
"I'm fine."
"The nikkah is over?"
"Yes. Me and the girl will be leaving tomorrow morning."
"Good...I have a task for you."
"Yes?"
"I need you to bring the girl back here."
"What? You mean...back to the palace?But why?"
"Why so concerned, Aahil? Your job is done. I'll handle the rest. I even informed Rehan. He is on his way here. Just bring back the girl here tomorrow and you're free from her.Okay?"
"...okay..."
"Good. See you tomorrow."
Aahil hung up the phone. I have to bring her back tomorrow? Aahil asked himself. Which means...I won't see her...ever again? Aahil turned towards a sleeping Sanam with a saddened look on his face.
