My Internal Conflict with the Asads of QH (Edited pg 1!)

Yes that's right, I'm back! On the forum proper I mean, I haven't been reading/commenting on posts and stuff. Haha not sure if anyone missed me, not sure if the same people are even around. But anyway for people who're new, I'm Green, and I mostly write and share fiction on this forum, adding my two cents in once in a while. So before I start doing that again, I thought I'd share my two cents about the change in Asads first.

See in my mind, there are not only 2, but 3 versions of Asad that QH has seen.

QH started with Asad V1:

Zoya's pairing with Asad V1 was the one that made me fall in love with AsYa and inspired me to write fictional stories about them as well. This was the Asad that got me hooked to the show, basically.

Then QH saw Asad V1 gradually change into Asad V2:

I don't know how many people will agree with me, but Zoya's pairing with Asad V2 no longer held that charm that was there with Asad V1. I don't quite know how to phrase it either, but it just really felt like something had changed, and something was off. I'm not just talking about the hairstyle or whatever, but this Asad was not the Asad I used to know. Maybe it was because of the ZoYaan track, but all I know is that despite my initial happiness about their reunion thereafter, I still found myself craving for scenes like the ones we'd seen with Asad V1. Despite the random bursts of anger shown by Asad V2, I felt like Asad had gone soft, and the chemistry with Zoya was no longer as explosive. I was no longer inspired to write about this version of AsYa.

And then in a sudden turn of events, I found myself facing Asad V3:

My initial reaction to this news was: HELL NO. I even decided that there was no way I was going to watch QH now. I skipped one or two episodes before Asad V3's entry, and then I realized that you know what? I actually missed the other characters, even the ones in Haseena Bi's pagalkhaana. Simply because I'd been watching this for so long, I'd gotten attached to the characters, and the story. Then it struck me, I was attached to Asad's character, the one that Asad V1 portrayed so beautifully. And it was missing a little in Asad V2 anyway, so why not give Asad V3 a shot?

So I did. The first few scenes didn't leave me too impressed, but then I decided that hey, the poor guy's just trying to get into the skin of the character that's been thrown to him out of the blue. I shall cut him some slack.

Then it got better, his portrayal of Asad's character, and what sealed it for me were the episodes this week. Sure, Asad V3 will never be Asad V1, but that's because while it is possible to understand and enact a character, it's impossible to mimic the personal style that was brought into Asad V1. Asad V3 has glimpses of his own style, which I have grown to accept as well. His chemistry with not only Zoya, but all the other characters he has interacted with so far has been pleasant to watch.

I watched Zoya fall in love with Asad V1, and so naturally, I wanted to see the whole love story reach completion with Asad V1 next to Zoya. But when Asad V1 had already become Asad V2, the chances of that already seemed bleak. I personally don't see Zoya's scenes with Asad V3 ever reaching the standards of Zoya's scenes with Asad V1, but it's got a charm of its own, a charm I have slowly become fond of.

Besides, after spending all this time on QH, how can I not watch the revelation of the century, the Abbu reveal?? I'm enjoying QH more now, than I did with Asad V2. But I'm still not enjoying it as much as I did with Asad V1. But I guess all I'm saying is that I've made peace with this (:

Can't wait for the next episode now! (:

EDIT:

Whee this topic just earned me this in the NL!!

Hahahaha thanks for responding guys, didn't know it was gonna attract this much attention (:

Fab post! You're RIGHT ON. 👏👏👏 I stopped watching QH during the Asad-V2-phase. I miss my Asad V1 SO MUCH! It hurts. I'm desperate to have that chemistry and jodi and romance back but I never will. 😭💔🥺

Awesome job on the amazing post! I agree with you 100%. :)

I had stopped posting (except on a couple of FFs) but had to reply to this one! Very well said, Green. 👏

I loved V1. V2 left me sad and disappointed. V3 has me interested again!! Also QH story is getting more gripping!! Hopefully, the CVs can sustain this pace!

I agree with your thoughts of asad 1 and 2..
Asad1 started on the road to becoming asad 2 on the event of him realising
His love for his musibaat ..
From then on his actions were from the heart and not from his mind ..
Pyar insaan ko wakay badal detha hai ..
Asad 3 ..is a different person all together ..
He will be getting in his own style and statement ..
No two actors ..can imbibe the others style ..
So asad 3 has to be viewed as the same character but as a different person ..
If we start comparing two person..it will end in an !?!?!? ...
QH is getting interesting .. finally nikhat ko sameera haqeeqat may dekhi ..
Aur hamay kya chahiya ..

Spot on Green. Though I treat them as V1.0 and V2.0. The one that you refer to as V 2 was the V1.5, the V1.0 gone corrupt due to external virus attack (I come from the programming world and version releases are my thing). Like u said, it was not just the hair. The entire character had gone for a toss. I could not feel him at all.
Also, V1.0 did not know to love, he learnt so my take is that V2.0 (my version) is the one that learnt to love and actually even show it. V1.5 I'd rather forget.

So yes, V2.0 will never be able tp show that anger and angst, coz he has changed now. Love has made him softer. And this way, Raqesh fits in perfect. I love RaqBhi jodi's chemistry. A couple who has been in love for so long, ought to have some display of it and I see it in AsYa V2.0.

Good to see you back and nice post..
Asad V1 made me fall in love with QH, he was the sher babbar khan, tellyworld never saw before. No can ever match that AAK. AsYa chemistry was one of a kind..
But then Asad 2 came and all the while looking for Asad V1, couldn't enjoy any scene. By biggest quest before and every day, will it be ever same again? Story was slipping and he was no show often, AsYa chemistry was barely there, scenes looked forced and out of context as if handing lollypops to kindergartners..
Then came Asad V3 amid proper mess, I was angry I felt cheated as I wanted reason for AsadV2? But suddenly QH writing was crip while there no Asad, and the he was much softer changed guy, who we should probably expect anyway as love does it to you. And AsYa rocking back again.
Right now don't want to deal with anymore Asad's versions, story going great, execution perfect, actors doing their very best. And me too cant wait for next episode..

Well said. This is exactly how I feel/felt. I enjoyed Asad v.1, hated Asad V.2 and now I like Asad v.3.

There was something missing in the character in the middle there and in last few weeks the intensity that we all liked asad for has suddenly come back. He is now the believable tycoon who uses his brains and doesn't t is disapproving of zoyas constant ridiculousness again.

Also, considering I sat through some of the worst plot points in history between August to December 25th, I was not about to stop watching over a replacement especially when the replacement has brought something fresh and interesting to the character and the STORY is finally moving!

Very well said, Green! Welcome back. yes I am a silent reader of your fiction. Love it! 👏
I have always watched QH for the story and Asya havent been a major draw. But AsadV1.0 was very good; i couldnt stand V2; I like V3.

Between August and December, Asya scenes were very forced and seemed completely out of context. There was no chemistry whatsoever and the story wasnt moving.

The last 3-4 weeks have been an absolute delight. I didnt know who RV was before Dec 27 last year. However, kudos to him. It requires lots of guts to take on such a popular character and he has done very well. Moreover, the story which had gotten derailed somewhere in the middle, has gotten back on track full stream. So, yes, QH is back and how.
