Actually both Pandavas and Kauravas went to heaven..When the illusion was created, Yudhistra was given a choice between hell and heaven..He chose hell cos all his siblings were supposedly there..It was only later that its revealed all of them were in heaven😆

You are right in your way but when you go into the depth don't you think these legends are what that made our society what it is today .. whether it was Sati's immolation for love or Draupadi's Chirharan aur Sita ki pariksha .. Isn't what preached and looked superficially was adopted in the Depths of Indian society with Dharma gurus and other in general treating women based on it rather than what's beyond it.

I'll tell you what I think. If you take the evolution of mankind, men hunted and brought home food while women stayed at home tending to the children and household tasks. It was kind of like the bees, where the Queen Bee is taken care of. The sacred feminine. And then came the manipulation of this. The minute food, money took precedence over the rest, some started manipulating and we ended up with this patriarchial society.Of course the writers were flawed but there are so many sub texts and interpretations that its difficult to determine what it is.I'd say the society influenced the writing more than the writers influencing it though it exists.

Yup there are just so many layers to the story..I also like that part where Draupadi confesses that even though she has five husbands, her heart always craves for a sixth one which obviously symbolises Karna in an indirect way cos he was also Kunti's son..So brave and uninhibited😆

How cann Zoya be flawed? Gul always says zoya resembles her, so how can Zoya commit mistake ever? 😆
sadly all the female leads in Hindi shows are becharis. 😆 And I agree I would love to c leads with grey shades, but I guess according to makers it wont get TRPs.But there is certain female character which I like, although she is not the lead but plays the male lead's mother which is also a significant role. She is flawed, independent & I really want to c female lead characters like that.
