Life Unexpected
Life takes unexpected turns. Some label it as destiny, others mistakes and a few all it bad luck. Zoya looked around the house; this is where she had memories of love. The love she never felt before, Zoya ran her hand over the arm of the couch where her and Najma would sit and watch endless hours of T.V. She walked further and placed her hand gently on the squeaky cleanness glass table, where she and Phoopi would have their breakfast over a quick chatter about him.
As if on impulse of the heart Zoya walked over to the room. She swung the door open with a single tap. The warm breeze made its way from his window around to her before exiting the room once again. Zoya froze in her path; she stared at the guitar, which she had held ever-so-tightly during his mini performance for her. She looked at the nicely made bed, a tear trickled down her eye. "Mein iss kamre ko boring nahin rekhoon gi" she once said with full right. Zoya looked out the window, where he stood capturing the moon in her ring. She fell and broke down in front of the door, grasping her necklace. Making sure not to enter into what was no longer hers.
An unexpected life was what she led; the writer of her so called destiny had played a cruel game with her. Everything had changed, Zoya wasn't Zoya anymore; everything from her inner self to her physical self had changed. Zoya had found her father but at the cost of that lost the man she loved. She had successfully morphed herself from his Ms. Farooqui to a Mrs. Ayaan Khan. The sound of that name as her label made her shiver.
Zoya started at the floor, she knew no one would be home and she knew where they would be, Najma at her home of course, Phoopi with him. Zoya composed herself, standing up she walked over to her room. She pushed the door opened, this time with more force. The room looked as she remembered. The breeze seemed to pick up, prancing around her dupatta as it flowed back and forth. Zoya remembered coming into this house, her days here. The arguments, the love behind them. A sad smile appeared on her face, all gone, nothing would be the same. It had become dark out, Zoya pulled the curtains shut and turned the lamp off. Lying on the bed, she closed her eyes a few seconds later opened them again. The stars came out and she wished upon every star she could count. She extended her hand beside her but there was no one to take it in theirs. Zoya's tears came again, she abruptly got up and looked around the room before running out. Zoya ran out crying, her legs felt weak, her heart dropped 50 stories. She fell onto the couch, and once gain scanned the room. "Laal" Asad had answered the immigration officer. Zoya looked at the dress she was wearing, "laal ab laal nahin raha Mr. Khan. No matter what I wear its all colorless to me. Without you I have nothing in life" she cried in her hands. "I shouldn't have come here, I should have driven away" But her heart wanted to be here once again, she knew no one would be here because they were all at the hospital.
"Kya!!!!!" she screamed at Ayaan. "Zoya, Zoya don't worry. They said it was just weakness" Zoya couldn't breathe, she ran paced the floor and ran her hands through her hair. "Phoopi, I need to talk to Phoopi" she rummaged through her room, throwing things around. Upon finding it, she dialed Dilshaad. "Pho...", "Zoya? Kuch nahin hua beta. Kamzoori hai bas. Who ky hai na Asad kuch teek se khata peeta nahin hai. So he passed out. He's fine now and sleeping soundly. Please babies don't worry..." Zoya shut the phone. "He tortures himself, he's ruining his life. He will be fine, waqt sab teek kar deta hai" she consoled herself with fake words.
FASHBACK ENDSZoya locked the door, placed the key under the flower pot. She had hidden it there, in case Asad ever locked her out for being late. She drove staring at the road until she saw the sign of the hospital. Entering the hall, goosebumps ran across her harms. Her body went cold as she peered through the window. In the room she saw him looking at his phone, Dilshaad was asleep on the couch. Her unexpected life had made a mockery of her and now she had to live with it, for his sake. Everything had changed, but her love for him. Everything but that feeling which surfaced on getting one glimpse of him. His love was still there running though her veins. Zoya turned around and slowly walked started to walk away. She held her necklace and looked at the ring dangling from it. "Teek kaha tha aapne har kisi ko mukamal jahaan nahin milta".
Asad looked up from his phone, "Zoya?" he felt her presence around him. He edged forward trying to look out the door, but saw no one. Asad pulled the screen down on his phone, staring at his background. "I will always love you Missfit" he said, a river of emotions making an entry through his eyes.
