When Zoya stepped back from Asad in the room instead of giving him the report. She did choose Guffy over Asad. We know where her priorities lie and that it will always be her father first.

It was unsettling a fair bit but then the Dilshad's dialogue on always sticking by the truth and Zoya's guilt there after was a good way to close that thought.

Initially when Dilshad was telling the story i had been confused as that is the reason why we celebrate the other Eid - but when i saw Zoya appear on screen i had a tube light moment and must congratulate the CVs on how well they have tied in the reglious side, Zoya's predicament and eventually her decision.

And for all those who are upset that Zoya was choosing her dad - well who would you like Asad to choose between Dilshad and Zoya?
Once Asad finds out who Zoya's father is he will have to indirectly also make a choice whether to support Zoya in her decision to get to know her dad or not.

Vicky IMO Asad and his family is everything for Zoya now (especially Dilshad) so if she chooses her father she has more to loose than if she choose Asad who as you said is her destiny.


Edited: After reading ur reply to veenta - yes i agree initially choose Asad will seem to Zoya that she loosing her chance to get all her past questions answered. However after the bench scene it seems she is not oblivious to the fact that her father was a week man who abandoned her and her mom. Bottom line - as you said today was a teaser of the tough decision Zoya has to make in the future

Zoe cannot be blamed for the very simple reason , that what she did was absolute human nature!!! She has been longing to meet her father for the past 17 or 18 years of her life and now that has the little hope of meeting him, should she really sacrifice it???
But she does know her priorities..She is a selfless woman..She has always put others before her ownself..And thats exactly what she did today!!! Chose Asad and his family over her father!! Cause it was Asad and his family who were there when she needed them..Now its her turn!!
And not chosing Asad would mean a losing her "everything" as you mentioned..

Choice is something that she cannot escape. Ghaffur aur Asad mein se sirf koi ek hi Zoe ka ho saktaa hai. Today, was just a teaser of the emotion combat that Zoe is to go through in the future ( if at all today's Dilshad foreshadowing of that famous story or 'parmaarth ki saakhee' it would be called Hindi)- And Zoe did get feet of clay for a few minutes, She chose Ghaffur over Asad for a brief span of time. The desperation, need, love and magnetic pull towards her father challenged her love for Asad ; the same love that she had committed to the Almighty and begged to be returned to her.

Insaan hai. Behak saktee hai. Problem tab hogee agar bhatak gayee toh...I am not blaming Zoe for anything. No child in this world with a heart full of love can ever sacrifice a parent. Its blood, its the umbilical cord , its the very composition of your existence. Nobody can ever have the status of even standing next to your Mom-Dad , forget taking their place or being like them.

Choosing Ghaffur over Asad will cost her Asad. But choosing Asad over Ghaffur will cost her everything. You can only hope that Zoe has it in her to face, digest and deal with the dark truths ahead. So, that if at all , she chooses Asad , its not because she loves him - its because he is is her destiny. The destiny she was guided to by none other than Ghaffur.
