One of the most basic arguments of this story. Who will Zoe choose in the long run?
Asad or Ghaffur?
Choice is something that she cannot escape. Ghaffur aur Asad mein se sirf koi ek hi Zoe ka ho saktaa hai. Today, was just a teaser of the emotion combat that Zoe is to go through in the future ( if at all today's Dilshad foreshadowing of that famous story or 'parmaarth ki saakhee' it would be called Hindi)- And Zoe did get feet of clay for a few minutes, She chose Ghaffur over Asad for a brief span of time. The desperation, need, love and magnetic pull towards her father challenged her love for Asad ; the same love that she had committed to the Almighty and begged to be returned to her.
Insaan hai. Behak saktee hai. Problem tab hogee agar bhatak gayee toh...I am not blaming Zoe for anything. No child in this world with a heart full of love can ever sacrifice a parent. Its blood, its the umbilical cord , its the very composition of your existence. Nobody can ever have the status of even standing next to your Mom-Dad , forget taking their place or being like them.
Choosing Ghaffur over Asad will cost her Asad. But choosing Asad over Ghaffur will cost her everything. You can only hope that Zoe has it in her to face, digest and deal with the dark truths ahead. So, that if at all , she chooses Asad , its not because she loves him - its because he is is her destiny. The destiny she was guided to by none other than Ghaffur.
