'Rejection doesn't hurt, expectation does. Lying doesn't kill, denial does. Forgetting doesn't heal, forgiveness does.'

'Nahi karta main aapse mohabbat!'
Words and hearts must be handle with care, for words once spoken and hearts once broken are the hardest things to repair.
There she was, completely his in every way trying her best to give him everything she could. He doesn't understand now, but he will some day. That he could hurt somebody so badly that she would never recover. That a person can, just by living, damage another human being beyond repair was a concept he was unable to comprehend at the moment.
The worst wounds, the deadliest of them, aren't the ones people see on the outside. They're the ones that make us bleed internally.
She had never cried over a broken heart before. She didn't know what exactly it felt like. Her heart felt not so much broken as just ... empty. It felt like she was an outline empty in the middle. The outline cried senselessly for the absent middle. The past cried for the present that was nothing.
A simple girl with ordinary needs and a dream to be married to her best friend. Was it too much to ask for? Fate was indeed a heartless bitch. She got her wish, but with a cruel lining. Ayaan didn't love her. 'Never had, never will' in his exact words.
What her fault was, she didn't know. After all the curtains fall down, she will be the one in most pain. She has no idea that it was her mother who had schemed and forced Ayaan to marry her and that her father who had cheated on his mother. She doesn't know of her mother's antics or that the sister in law she grieves for now is her half sister by blood.
Was she bitter? Absolutely. Hurt? You bet your sweet ass she was hurt. Who doesn't feel a part of their heart break at rejection? You ask yourself every question you can think of, what, why, how come, and then your sadness turns to anger. It drives you, feeds you, and eats at your insides making you feel hollow and empty from within.
A torn jacket can be mended and a broken cup could be replaced, but what about a broken heart? A broken heart bleeds tears. Everyone gets broken at some point of their lives. Some grow stronger with each break, some never recover. Which one wil Humeira be, only time can tell.
Everyone says that love hurts, but that's not quite true. Loneliness hurts. Rejection hurts. Losing someone you love hurts. Everyone confuses these things with love, but in reality love is the only thing in this world that covers up for all the pain and makes us feel wonderful again.
So here's the reality of it all
You're not afraid the dark
You're afraid of what's in it.
You're not really afraid of heights.
You're afraid of falling from them.
You're not afraid of the people around you
You're afraid of their rejection to you
You're not afraid of love
You're simply afraid of not being loved back
And you're not afraid to try again
You're just afraid of getting hurt for the same reason.
I think in the end, he would choose to stay with her, out of obligation...or maybe comfort. Maybe she was safe to him, and he needed to feel that. She knew how scared he got of the unknown. To him...she must be kind of a security blanket. Do you see now, how that doesn't work for her? She doesn't want to be there, simply because the idea of her being gone is too...scary. She wants to be someone's everything. She wants fire and passion, and love that's returned, equally. She wants to be someone's heart... Even if it means breaking her own.
So Ayaan, remember you can only push a girl away for so long before she turns and walks away. Make sure it's what you want because when she leaves, she is gone forever.
