Hi Pri
I understand a lot of people are angry with this Tanu-Jammy friendship track.
Yes, as a woman who is about to get married to a man, even I would be offended if an old friend acts so touchy feely with my fianc. It's a natural reaction even if there is no fire between the two friends.
We are talking about Asad Ahmed Khan though. This man has never dated a woman, never thought about another woman in romantic terms and has just recently realized that he has fallen for a woman who doesn't fit his image of the perfect woman. He is never been too sensitive towards Zoya's feelings. He either tries to ignore her feelings or just walks away because he gets too overwhelmed. He might be a very intelligent man, but lacks understanding of women. His mother and sister don't count because they just fed into his protective and chauvinistic tendencies during his early years. It's only now that Najma has become more comfortable with her brother. She is no longer terrified of him like used to be. Dilshaad has always had an open relationship with him but that's because out of respect, he does listen to her.
When he first started feeling attracted to Zoya, what did he do? He manhandled her. Is that how a man expresses his attraction for a woman? No. But with time he has learnt that Zoya doesn't appreciate that kind of treatment by him.He has stopped doing that now.
Tanveer has been like a family member or a sister for him. We know he has no romantic inclination towards her. When she initiates contact in the form of hand holding or hugging, he just goes with the flow as he doesn't see any malice on Tanveer's side and as far as he goes, he has no man-woman type of feelings for Tanveer. It's only lately, when he has seen Zoya get jealous, that he has become more self conscious.
This man needs to be taught everything. Somethings just don't come naturally to him. I am sure, when Zoya gives him the cold shoulder and gets upset about his undying faith in Tanveer, he will gradually back off.
Yes, he is being insensitive but I won't call him a hypocrite. He would be, if he was two timing or had such intentions about Tanveer. Ethical behavior is a relative term. If Asad did that willingly, he would be unethical, but he is just oblivious to the sensitivities of a woman's heart.
Zoya is there in his life to teach him many lessons- and one of them shall be 'how to be sensitive to a woman's needs.'
This man hasn't been able to confess yet! Imagine how clueless he is about women.
