Chapter 9: Preview

The previous night at the hotel, Zoya had been tossing and turning. When sleep finally over came her...

Zoya walked in a straight line, in a long corridor, with many doors. The corridor was white, impeccable, glistening. As she passed the doors, she noticed each one had a small window into its respective room. She peered inside one of them. Then the next, and the next, only to see... Mr. Khan.

Mr. Khan saving her in Mangalpur. Mr. Khan carrying her out of Akram's house. Mr. Khan fighting the goondas for her. Mr. Khan comforting her in the garden. Mr. Khan bringing her cheesecake. Mr. Khan holding her while she mourned her father. Mr. Khan telling her not to go...

Mr. Khan... Asad...

She was smiling, tears of happiness welling up in her eyes. Zoya walked further down the corridor to even more doors. But these weren't doors of fond memories...

Mr. Khan... she saw... telling her she is a musibaat, a misfit, has no tezeeb, tameez...

Mr. Khan throwing her out of his house. Mr. Khan threatening her life. Mr. Khan blaming her for his mother's condition. Mr. Khan slapping her... she cringed... Mr. Khan questioning her upbringing...

Mr. Khan... "Khuda ka shukar ki aapke abuu aaj zinda nahin hain, une aap par zaroor sharam aati agar une yeh din dekne par the!"

Zoya jerked awake, her face moist with tears. When she realized where she was, and why, a new rush of tears trickled down her face.

Mr. Khan mujhe kabhi nahi samaj paenge. Aur mein une khabi nahi samaj paongi. Yehi sab ke liye acha hoga, she tried to convince herself.

Dejected and numb, she laid back down. Slowly her sobs lessened, as she softly cried herself to sleep.

Precap: the rest of the chapter will focus on Asad and his feelings about Zoya leaving.. and of course Zoya at the airport.. and the elusive question of who called at the Khan Villa =P

aww the preview was so saddd !! I really hope Asad will stop her in a good way and not spoil the fun by reactinh the same way he did in the show *pissed off * anyway looking forward to read the next part so continue soon :)

I'm literally shedding tears for Zoya but at the same time I am so proud of her, to have finally stood up against Asad so strongly and confidently and not allowing herself to break in front of him that was commendable and I could only hope she does that on the show. Asad was an Asshole here, I absolutely hated him and I want him to feel sick to his stomach when he realises what he's done yet again, I want him to fall on his knees in front of her begging for forgiveness and for Zoya to not give two hoots. How cold hearted could he possibly be to yet again say stuff like 'he's glad that his abbu is dead' and shit like that? ARGH! I HATE HIM!!!

Anyways why do I feel something bad is going to happen, like something really bad?

I was saving up your updates so I could read a few chapters at once! It required a lot of self control, considering how addicted I am to your SS now. The biggest compliment I can give you is that I can imagine KSG and SJ enacting the scenes. The writing style, without even talking about the story itself, is captivating. It is a perfect mix of eloquence and simplicity. I love the Urdu dialogues. Keeps the essence of the show intact.

Now coming to the story, I absolutely love how you are proceeding with this track! Asad needs to realize that he cannot take Zoya for granted and as much as I loved the airport proposal, the "I'm having eye sex with you because you are amazing - My bad, it was all a drama" crap is not going to work out. I hope Zoya puts her feisty face on tomorrow. So, with the way Asad is behaving in the show, this whole drawn out redemption track in your SS is definitely going to be breath of fresh air. Kudos to you for staying true to Zoya's character 👏. As for Asad, it's sad to admit, but what he is doing is also true to his character and all I can say is that he is going to regret it, BIG TIME. He needs to learn to cherish what is good in his life and he didn't learn it the easy way so I guess there really wasn't any other option. Despite my rant about Zoya's dignity and Asad's dhakkan-ness, is it slightly bipolar - or Asad Ahmed Khan - of me to still wish for AsYa scenes? I can see the angst and the pain building up and I see great scenes coming our way from you 😃. Do keep writing! I'll be looking forward to your next update.
