I already emailed her and the director - their personal emails. 😉

You don't like us highlighting a serious issue? Or speaking out against how this show can perpetuate some serious myths? Well, I don't like the pro-slap posts or the ones that think this is all hot and sexy either but do you see me going on their threads and behaving like yourself?

Hi Pri..I'm most upset today seeing this helpless Zoya. She really came across to me as women do when they suffer domestic violence and are made to feel that they have no choice but to succumb to the cruelty of circumstances. If only they had shown the same dermination and strength in Zoya when she said to the Almighty that she will find her dad and make sure she gets all the answers,to Asad that she is not going to accept his behaviour than I would have been able to relate more to why she has been reduced to this when her initial character sketch was one of strong women, who was not afraid to stand up and defend herself. They reallly are reducing her character to shreds and a sfor Asad there is no mending as far as I'm concerned if they are going to escalate the sadist in him any further. You know Pri...You known men who abuse women, have these thought process that they have some sort of right/possesion over these women in where they feel that they can take out on in the form of physical violence or verbal abuse as it lets off that built up adrenalin rush that they tend to get from time to time. When that rush or steam has let off, then they feel guilt...hence leading them to repent for alittle while till the next big rush.
I really dnt see how they will go about ammnding Asad's character anymore as the damage done is quite enough!
How they going to make a place in my heart with the ASya love story...I really dnt know!

Exactly! These shows are supposed to give out a social message and people, especially youngsters, tend to follow or imitate in life what is shown
If Miss Gul really wanted to give out a message of standing up against these issues,is thsi the right way to go on about it?Especially through the male lead who, most tend to worship in shows!

isn't it ironical that Ms Gul actually said in a interview that she wants to clear misconceptions about the Muslim culture...I would really like to know what is she really trying to imply...? On the contrary she is repeatedly confirming that a woman has no rights in a patriarchal society...a battered woman still wouldn't stand up for herself and has been restricted by societal norms. Ms Gul has moved a step forward and has successfully ridiculed a modern and independent American woman who initially was portrayed as an independent and fearless person.

I'm not denying that it was a deliberate remark- my only point is that I didn't see him deriving any pleasure/amusement from the fact, which is a key element in sadism/schadenfreude (think Vlad the Impaler!).

It was cruel, to be sure- but I don't think it falls under the definition of sadism, let alone personifying it.
