I know the situation was stressful...and Zoya's timing was really bad...but that still doesn't justify Asad's action. In fact, considering how Dilshad raised him...the slap actually came as a surprise for me.
But this is a drama...and I'm assuming the slap was worked in to cause "the great divide" between AsYa. Still...I'm not happy with the way it was showm...and it came a little too soon for my own taste.

Same here. I do not and will not tolerate this with myself.

Hey Laila,

I totally agree with your post!
I like the use of dialogues you put and I think Asad needs to forget his ego and apologize to Zoya.
Hope you get all the support and 4lions does something about this.
~Sophie :)

I would be lucky if they even read this post...they've already shot the scenes - solution to this situation is a cup of coffee.

Yes, Please do because as of now I have stopped watching the show-am reading updates and if Asad does not redeem himself properly than I am sorry to say but Qubool Hai will lose a lot of fans!

I just discovered this show two weeks ago and I wish I had not! 😒
The obsession is gone for now-on a lighter note that is good because now I can catch up with my life...

RK - I stopped recommending this show to all the people I know - actually told them boycott it if you want now. I really liked it...might watch it but not with the same zest I once did. Totally ruined for me.

I dont think Asad can redeem himself any more or it will take a lot for him to do so (at least for me). Throughout the entire show I've seen Asad do so many things that really irked me but I over looked them all. He has done many things like after zoya got him and ayaan to meet, he threatened to kill her even though she wasnt at fault, she was just trying to make him a little happier but what did asad do? he yelled at her made her cry and threatened to kill her. Also the way he is always judging her for wearing jeans. BUT that slap today just made me angry and it was way too far. She was trying to help a girl that went through one of the worst things a person can go through and what did she get for that? A slap that not only hurt her physically but also mentally hurt her self esteem. Who ever gave asad the right to do so? To me, it is not okay for anyone besides a person's parents can lay a hand on them without their permission and asad violated that and it is completely unacceptable for him to do so. If i was zoya I would not be able to forgive him no matter what he does and I hope she doesnt forgive him anytime soon. The irony in this is remember when asad was telling akram how a real man is someone who respects women? was what he did today very respectful?

A lot of people do not get it - they trivialize and minimize it with - well she's not dead is she. And that is very sad.

I was thinking the same thing about him telling Akram and also those four goons at the railway station when they hit Zoya-what a hypocrite!

Nothing against KSG or Subhi-they are great actors!
I don't know how much power do these actors have but I think that actors especially main lead involved in such scenes should speak up! just my 2 cents that I have been adding in this forum since morning! :)

I wish actors would speak up instead of succumbing to pressure but I hear it is not that easy to do so I forgive them for it. And no, Asad is NO Darcy.

I never thought Asad would raise hand on women and children. They just proved me wrong. Couldn't the makers handle it without the slap?

What does it make him? If god forbid had Dilshad died instantly, would he have killed Zoya?

Why they had to take it to that level? But what can I tell, Asad is a character with flaws and this act heightens his flaws. He had always jumped to conclusions before knowing everything, he has been judgmental, he was never a normal person with so much hidden in him (Dilshad was more a victim than him, but she had such positivity, but not him), now he is abusive too.

Slap can never be justified. But I get what they are doing.
His 'Anger' directly proportional to 'guilt'/'repentance'. May be even exponentially proportional.
The bigger the act of anger, the bigger the guilt and further bigger repentance!
But with this act 'Asad' isn't the same anymore.

No one of Mariyam or Najma saw what Asad did. So, there wud b no opportunity for Mariyam to clarify it for Zoya. I think he has to over hear Mariyam saying 'why Dilshad brought her back' or Dilshad has to say that herself to Asad. That is how his misunderstanding wud b clarified.

Laila, I like the dialogues that you have for Zoya and Asad. But I'm not sure if Dilshad would say all of it, but I definitely want her to say that 'she is ashamed of his act and never expected him to hit her'. In addition I want her to ask Asad to be sorry and pay for his wrong doing. Both of which u hv already covered.

A very good post!

Thank you my dear friend...I have been so busy that I failed to pay heed to the many responses on my thread and glad for your feedback.

I too was afraid that this might happen but I did not think the writers would stoop this low.

The viewers are justifying the slap and I am sure would justify that he killed her too if Dilshaad had died. It sad state of affairs when you see women cheering on a slap and then romanticizing and joking about it.

I think the way Dilshaad has been written she would..but I do not see the writers as even attempting this - as we have seen in SBS - the solution to this a cup of coffee. that makes up for about everything in their eyes.

He is going to have to grovel bad.
Maybe Ayaan will come to the hospital, and Zoya will head off with him!

Give them a few of these and they won't care about the slap.

I work at a domestic violence shelter and I see physically and mentally bruised women on a daily basis...I see them trying to puck up the pieces of their very disturbing and abusive lives...so I cannot fathom seeing Zoya with a dispicable abusive woman hitter like Asad.

I actually don't want to see Zoya with Asad anymore. I want Zoya with a man who will live and respect her and if that person is Ayaan...then so be it. I will actually support it as a viewer...but no I want Zoya to walk out of that house.

Also, if she stays back after this...I will stop watching QH. I will not degrade myself as a women anymore...I did feel disgraced today...I felt like the slap was on numerous ppl like like who work with domestic violence victims ...this was a slap on every woman me.

I totally and utterly despise men like Asad...gosh...hypocrites of the society.

Same here. I agree...this abuse of Zoya is beyond me...I don't know how a woman and a group of women writers find this appealing.
