I don't recall which episode it was, but there is one from the Zoya-thinks-Asad is a spy phase where he threatens to kill her? I think he had is hands on her neck. I found that a little over the top, odd and Un-Asad like.

If i had to write more fanfiction i would ignore this aspect. I don't know how to work around it at the moment. I'd maybe portray the events differently ( I know ignoring it wont make it any else real). The character has endeared himself to me. He's not of my creation, but there is a version of him that is mine ( Does that make sense?). I don't need Asad to be a mary-sue. Just human.

Currently sleep deprived. Haven't slept more than 2 hours each day since 1st feb. I just hope what i've written makes at least a little sense 😊

For me personally...if a guy did that...that would be the end...he could go jump in the lake...and there would be no redemption as far as I'm concerned...period...because I frankly could not live with the "What if" it happens again. But that's strictly my POV.

I know the situation was stressful...and Zoya's timing was really bad...but that still doesn't justify Asad's action. In fact, considering how Dilshad raised him...the slap actually came as a surprise for me.
But this is a drama...and I'm assuming the slap was worked in to cause "the great divide" between AsYa. Still...I'm not happy with the way it was showm...and it came a little too soon for my own taste.

Hey Laila,
I totally agree with your post!
I like the use of dialogues you put and I think Asad needs to forget his ego and apologize to Zoya.
Hope you get all the support and 4lions does something about this.

You are right, but if I can get enough support for this, I am sending this to someone I know who works on the show. 😉

Yes, Please do because as of now I have stopped watching the show-am reading updates and if Asad does not redeem himself properly than I am sorry to say but Qubool Hai will lose a lot of fans!

I just discovered this show two weeks ago and I wish I had not! 😒
The obsession is gone for now-on a lighter note that is good because now I can catch up with my life...

As far as I'm concerned, domestic abuse is a serious topic. If the CVs have opened this can of worms, then they have a responsbility to handle it right and send the right message. Yes it's a fictional show but they have touched a social problem. If they wanted to show this very real issue, then they need to deal with realistically as well.

For the time being, they need to show Zoya being strong and walking out on him. She needs to leave him and stay away for awhile. That's the right message to send because when a woman is abused, the worst thing she does is think it won't happen again. Then the cycle continues.

Asad can find out the truth, he can repent, he can beg...do all this to redeem himself but right now they need to focus on Zoya and her having enough self respect to leave. For me, his redemption won't mean anything if they don't of justice to Zoyas character.

Just my pov.

I agree 150 nah 200%👍🏼 Amen to all you said above! This slap should not be taken lightly. Like I said in another post-I work with Domestic Violence victims mostly women but there are men too and its not fair to anyone!

Hi Laila,

He CANNOT. And yes, in a way this reflects badly on Dilshad. The point is, this was no run-of-the-mill slap. This slap was brutal and left many of us reeling. Why did they have to make him slap her so frickin' hard is what I don't understand... There goes the tehzeeb and tameez of Asad Ahmed Khan. I swear, if I see any post terming him a "gentleman" from henceforth I will make it a point to set them right. The man is well on his way to becoming an irredeemably screwed brute!

P.S. Sorry for coming across so strongly. Operating on pure emotion and angst right now. I was not aware of the SBS segment and the slap hit me like a bolt from the blue

I think it takes a lot to come back from something like this. If this had happened to me, I would be spewing venom. Maybe not at the moment when someones parent is in the hospital but definitely after. If I had to forgive this person I would have to see real regret and a definite change in attitude. I mean there is no point having Asad say he's sorry and then have him thinking the worst of her again. That just is not done.

Honestly, I just hate this kind of pointless violence. I understand self-defense...and self-defense is needed but to lash out at someone because you are hurt and angry is just the wrong message to send out.

The sad thing is I understand why the CVs portrayed the scene the way they did. They want to maintain Asad as a grey character...and I agree he was in the worst pain of his life...but there are other ways to bring that out. The method they chose was just irresponsible!

Thank you for your support...this behavior is very wrong and if they do not show redemption on Asad's part, then I do not know what to say - redemption is often unfortunately shown with a guy smashing his hand and reciting stereotypical dialogue - 'let me smash my hand...blah blah blah." And then he does something stupid like trying to put his finger in a light socket to show how much he loves her...(saw that on another drama)...it will have no element of maturity at all.

Then with a couple of mitwa scenes everyone will forget what happened.

not us though right? We won't forget. It may not make a difference now, or today, but I will stop watching. They will lose at least one viewer...and one day those of us who protest will be a large enough group to really count!
