I think too much is being made out of this...I mean they didn't show any of the characters praying to the saint...just coming there to seek solace.

Everywhere but Saudi Arabia
Sufism is big in a lot of Muslim places
I could give a whole history on this
Pakistan is big in Sufism

Well I dnt go, but have went twice when I was young to pray for the souls.
Bt I found out its wrong. I personally pray for the souls in prayers directly to allah
Bt a muslim should ask anything from allah.

Totally agree with you.
My bangladeshi friends say it happen in bangladesh too.
Indoneshia also have sufi influence.
And barelvi sufi influenced sunni group are makes majority of muslim population in india, pakistan & bangladesh.
Its also a cultural thing of south asian and south east asian muslims.
Arab muslims makes up 240 million or 15% of world's 1.6 billion muslim population.
Muslims of india, pakistan, bangladesh, indoneshia together makes up 750 millon or 46% of world muslim population.
Even a indian district named murshidabad has 4.7 million muslim which alone is more than the muslim population of arab country like qatar.

As far as I know, you shouldn't throw or decorate someones grave with flowers like how the people here in the West do.

You're getting too technical Aya...you know sort of like baal ki khaal kheechna...😆
I mean if we're to get that technical...then you aren't supposed to even maintain marked graves.
This is a just a TV serial ...and although the central characters are muslims...it is not about Islam. I mean you can expect the CVs to use creative licensing here and there...to better represent the customs of the local muslims...without overwhelmingly offending the sensibilities of the muslim population at large...
I mean come on...
I know how we may be portrayed in the media...but we are not that stiff... 😆
