I am also very much against going to graves to make wishes. I don't have much knowledge about Islam but i do know that its wrong to do such thing. However my parents are originally from a village in Pakistan. In their village everyone has very litle knowledge about Islam and therefore everyone goes to such graves to make wishes...which i find very sad..don't really know how to handle something like that...they kind of make fun of you when you try to reason with them...somehow they feel that they have better knowledge about Islam just because they live in a muslim country...

i consider it my duty to reply if i can, i mean if i know and if i don't know i try to search the answer from the authentic source. what takes time is searching source even if i know the question i don't like to reply without source as without verification it doesn't seem to be the answer but our own opinion and i avoid my own opinion while replying.

sadly, we have stopped learning Arabic as it has been the educational language before for us and we were able to understand Quran with the help of it too.

If you try to tell any one with ref of Quran o Ahadith and they make fun, don't bother. People have been mocking Prophets (Peace be Upon all of Them) too, imagine if Prophet Mohammad Peace be Upon Him might have given up, how we could be Muslims now???? I really don't bother what people say. Initially i got a bit upset when people have been fighting then i made my mind whenever i'll say Truth People can fight, accuse or whatever, i m ready...and finally now its much better 😊. When you talk with proper traceable reference then People have to listen and if they don't; they are not rejecting you but the message of Allah. Being in a Muslim country or a by birth Muslim doesn't mean that we have the better knowledge, i know many converted muslims who are far better muslims than us and preach Islam with its true teachings.

Making building on graves or doing construction on them or sitting on them is strictly forbidden in "Sahih Muslim" so how the shrines are even possible? i m having the ref from urdu book. i may post them later if time permits insha'Allah.

never make use of references, however i did start reading the Quran with translations and books to have a better understanding of my faith...so i am learning myself at the moment and it will take some time before i can explain people the proper way.

my dear building on graves is forbidden with ref to "Muslim". i m again in the office so unable to post the reference as my book is at home . if you check "The book of Funeral" (Jenazy k mesayel ) by Iqbal Keylani, printed by Hadith Publications, He has collected the references there from Sahah e Sitta (The most authentic books of Ahadith) on the topic of funeral and graves. its good you started learning. Alhuda and Alnoor international are teaching well in the light of Quran o Ahadith if you find it there you can check. i m having my own books of Quran o Ahadith and keep on searching about the topic what stuck in my mind.
