Adaab... Raina again!
I know I've been gone for a while now cause thanks to hurricane sandy, we didn't have power for almost a week! I almost died, God. Anyways enough with my ranting, lets get to the show now shall we?
October 30th, 2012: 2nd Episode.
Love, Love, Love, Love, Love Ayaan and Asad's chemistry. Omg, they're so cute. Ayaan's sucha cute brother (Now I'm even more against anyone coming between them) & God, KSG is freaking hot as Asad. Omg, that serious look in killing me #SexyBeast. Moving on to Surbhi, again, where was this girl all this time? She makes me wanna say 'zabardast!'.The 'Mazaar' scene was awesome, The way Asad looked at Zoya, that intense glim, almost gave me an heart attack. Their first interaction was equally titillating. I like Zoya's bold approach #PouringFeminism & Asad's replies (mashriki tahzeeb! ) They'll make a great couple ( Which I thought I'd never say because KSG & Jenny rock but Surbhi's something yo! )
The fight scene was awesome, loved Ayaan & Asad's little Handshake #coolstuff.
Dialogue of the day : "Mere Zakham itni jaldi nahi bharte. " It broke my heart when Asad said that. Great acting by KSG.
October 31st, 2012: 3rd Episode.
Qabool Hai is more then just a regular rom-com , It's touching upon issue after issue faced not only by Muslim societies but also by the whole subcontinent & some of the middle eastern societies as well. Be it a girl being considered low or coarse for not getting a rishta or a woman considered inferior for not having a son. Qabool Hai is highlighting them all.
Once again great acting by KSG. I literally cried the first five minutes, you know- with tears and all.I could feel the pain Asad's supposedly going through & a thumbs up to KSG for that. He has truly improved as an actor. Now I'm not just swooning over his looks, I'm actually paying attention to his acting (if that makes sense but i'm sure all you KSGians out there are feeling me)
And a special shout out to Rishabh, the guy's a pro at speaking Urdu!
P.S. I like this Jiju character. Seems like a nice guy.
November 1st, 2012: 4th Episode.
There wasn't much action in this one however I've grown to love Ayaan-Asad's bond even more now. The fact that the two brothers have that kind of a relationship where they're standing up for each other even after the hatred between shows a lot about their individual characters. Especially for Asad being fair to his half brother is just commendable , somebody else in his place would have considered the second wife and her children equally responsible for his pain whereas Asad ( I was gonna write Armaan lol) has definitely taken a different approach & I like that, brings a new flavor to the show however I'm a bit skeptical of Asad's relationship with his own sister. Seems like he doesn't really pay attention to her. Wonder what's up with that.
Btw Asad's dialogues killed me again. Whose the writer of the show, man?
Novermber 2nd, 2012: 5th Episode.
Ok, So maybe Asad does pay attention to his sister, sorry guys. False alarm. Though I feel Najama is repressed a lot which is sort of ironic because Dilshaad is actually an independent woman.
Moving on to the "Jeans dilemma," In 17 years of my life, never have I understood the difference between a churidaar pajama and a skinny jean. I remember when I use to visit Pakistan in summer, how my grandma would always object to me wearing skinny jeans with long shirts and cardigans whereas my cousins were actually allowed to wear short shirts with chuidaars that too half sleeves if I may mention. Anyways "jean-is-bad" is like an orthodox belief that's usually found in old people & I'm actually shocked that Asad is shown to have that orthodox thinking because not many Muslim men, specially of the 21st century, even of countries such as Pakistan or India who are known for keeping alive their tradition and culture , object to that anymore. I would've rather had "Humara k abu" object to it whereas the newer generation being Asad and Ayaan supporting it , by which I mean, wearing anything as long as it looks modest & isn't revealing. Just something I felt.
"Bhai mujhe kandhe pe bitha k school chorne jate thy..."
I like how they're actually giving us such visual peeks at Asad's past. Brilliant use of imagery in that dialogue. Qabool Hai is indeed making us see the unseen!
And last but not the least today's episode,
I am Amazed. AMAZED. Never in a show have I been more interested in the side tracks rather then the actual "hero-heroine" storyline. The Zoya-Asad encounter, though extremely hysterical was completely over shadowed by the emotional ride the Cvs took us through of a broken family. An abandoned love-thirsty wife, An anguised regretful Husband , Two deserted furious kids who deep inside might even long to see their father , what an emotional scene the Cvs wove together for us. Amazing. Just Amazing.
Moving on to minor details, Shareen, though really annoying & sort of a dupe, really wom my heart today. Making halwa for your step son , who you know hates you, is truly a deed of kindness #littlethingsmatter.
Talking of details, I love the growing communication between Asad and Najma, they should definitely show more of that. (LOL at tamatar)
Hm, what else? Zoya. Yes, Like always, loved her bold approach with the cheapo gang, God, where does that girl come up with that stuff?
Anyways that's all I have to say, I know its long & old but consider it a Recap, eh?
Khuda Hafiz!
