"I can't believe we are still arguing over this Sama. I thought I had you convinced of my love that night. You yourself had been more than willing then. Then why this sudden repeat of the argument? I thought you have finally understood that whatever I did, it was because I loved you and not for any plan. If you were not convinced, then why did you let me get close to you that night?" Advik asked Sama in exasperation. No matter how hard he tried, Sama was always accusing him for betraying her. Not that he could not understand her pain. He himself had taken away her life and turned him into a living dead like himself without giving her any warning. That was enough to drive anyone insane. But he thought that Sama had finally began trusting him when she gave herself to him completely that night. But apparently that was not so.
"That was not me, in case you still have not realized. That was just the animal which you have made me into Advik. An animal which only knew her body's needs and desires at that moment and did not have any thoughts or feelings. I was not myself that time Advik and you have made sure that I never would be the same Sama ever again. Why did you do this to me Advik? Tell me what is this devilish plan of yours for which you made me a monster? And let me tell you, I am not going to be a part of any of your plans against my friend Pia." Sama shouted back at him and was about to smash the last piece of the statues remaining in Advik's house when Advik held her hand and pulled her by her waist. She had already destroyed half of Advik's house in anger in the last few days.
"So at least you admit that you cannot resist me. Well, that's surely one worry down my list!"Advik tries to get away smartly, but Sama just pushed him away and spoke in anger, "Oh leave me Advik. I don't even want to see your face. You know what, I think I should rather go and stay in Abhay's house. He can surely guide me better in this world than you. At least he does not use people for their plans making fake claims of love. I just hope Pia would not mind if I promise not to disturb them."
"Wait Sama! Please wait! How many times do I have to tell you that you were never and still are not part of any of my plans Sama? What should I do to convince you?" sighed Advik in frustration. "How about telling me what exactly are your crazy plans? Maybe that would help me make up my mind whether to believe you or not!" Sama spat back.
"Alright!"Advik sighed. He knew that the time has come to let Sama in. She would never believe him unless she knows the complete truth and he wanted her to believe him. He was done with misunderstandings all around him. He didn't want Sama to join the list. He loved her and wanted her to love him back. "It's a long story Sama, which began almost three centuries ago, when Abhay was first born. But since that life got over long back, I will tell that story in short. Abhayendra as he used to be known at that time was a stable boy who fell in love with Princess Maithili of Pandher kingdom. But Abhayendra's own brother Siddhartha also loved her and so he told the Maithili's father about their love. The king ordered Maithili to be burnt alive and both Abhayendra and Siddhartha died in the fire trying to save her. But they didn't really die. Two vampires were passing by in the forest when they heard those cries. They thought that maybe they would get their meal, but they only found two burnt male bodies which were almost dying. The female vampire who had strong motherly instincts decided to turn both of them and that's how Abhay first became a vampire."
Sama was listening attentively. She still did not know whether to believe him or not, but if Abhay had loved some Maithili, then where and how did Pia come into the picture? As if reading her mind, Advik continued, "You must be wondering where does Pia fit into Abhay and Maithili's story, well for that I would now jump the story to almost two centuries later or year 2010 to be precise. That was when after travelling to various places, Abhay came back to Dehradun with his vampire parents Chand and Haseena. His brother and he had got separated as they never forgive each other. Well it was here that Abhay first met Pia. She was Pia Jaiswal then and like now, even then she was a splitting image of Princess Maithili. It was probably this resemblance which first attracted Abhay to Pia, but later it was her golden heart that melted down all Abhay's defences and forced him to love her for what she was and not just a doppelganger of his previous girl friend. Pia loved him even after knowing that he was a vampire. But they never had an easy life. Abhay's brother Siddhartha returned and tried to create problems. He used to feed on humans which at that time was against the rules of vampire council, though that was just an eye wash, as I learnt much later." Advik spoke the last part with much bitterness and for the first time Sama felt that Advik was speaking the truth, if he could feel so much bitterness at this.
Advik continued, "Where was I... oh yes, Siddhartha... well he tried to harm Pia and he had even turned Maithili into a vampire and kept her safe and hidden feeding her lies about Abhay. In the end Abhay had to kill Siddhartha to save Pia and Maithili froze Abhay under a freezing spell thinking that only she would be able to set him free. But Pia's love broke that powerful spell and Abhay was freed. After much efforts Pia even managed to make Abhay back into a human and this is the point from where the present story starts. You see, the vampire council had a lot of evidence as well as some sound astrological charts suggesting that Abhay would turn out to be the strongest supernatural of all times and he would be able to control all the supernaturals. This was the reason why the vampire council was actually maintaining a facade of being good to humans earlier, so that the other supernaturals do not wage unprovoked wars on them. They were simply biding their time till Abhay could come to his powers and rule over all supernaturals and they could unleash their true beastly selves. But when Abhay fell in love with a human Pia, that was considered as the ultimate weakness and so they let him go when he was turned a human. Abhay and Pia got married and were living happily with Abhay's vampire parents Chand and Haseena. It was around that time that the vampire council got the ultimate proof they were looking for. The most famous supernatural astrologer predicted that if Abhay is separated from his soul mate and turned back into a vampire, he would become the strongest and most ruthless monster anyone has ever known. And so, that's what they set out to do. They killed Pia brutally and even hid her body in a safe secret place guarded by charms so that her soul is not freed and she is not reborn. Abhay went mad at her death. He made her a grave but it never had any body. Just her old belongings!!
He could hear Pia in his mind all the time telling him that she would return back and this made Chand and Haseena convinced that Pia's soul is trapped somewhere. They found hard to find her so that they could free her soul, but they could not find her. It was on one of such expeditions that the vampire council managed to find Abhay alone in a very vulnerable state. They erased his memories completely and turned him back into a vampire. He no longer knew Pia, Maithili, Siddhartha, Chand, Haseena or even himself anymore. They took him away. When Chand and Haseena returned from their journey empty handed, they were aghast to know that Abhay had gone missing. They had been suspecting the council for a long time by then and this confirmed their suspicions. They now knew for sure that Pia was killed by the vampire council and they had taken Abhay. Haseena loved him as her own son. She wanted him back and there was only one way to get him back and that was to find Pia. They searched everywhere but could not find her." Advik stopped to see Sama listening to him attentively. Her face held a mixture of various emotions, from shock to pity to a little bit of disbelief. This was too much for her to take.
Advik sensed the disbelief and went on, "You must be wondering how do I know all this and where do I fit into all this. Well I am coming to that. You remember I once told you of a baby sister I once had who was killed by some kidnappers. Those kidnappers happened to be members of the vampire council which had by then started showing off its true colours after getting Abhay in their fold. They killed my sister and injured me fatally. I was left to die when Chand and Haseena found me in the forest. They had already lost Abhay and Haseena's motherly instincts once again took over and she turned me. It was then that I became a vampire. I did not know anything at that time, but with time I got to know how corrupt the vampire council was. As predicted, Abhay had become a completely ruthless and most powerful monster. He knew no mercy and had invincible powers. With him under their thumb, they waged a war on all supernaturals and many innocent witches, werewolves and vampires were killed. Ultimately everyone had to bow down to Abhay as no one could defeat him. The council wasted no time and announced him as the king of all supernaturals."
Pia had just arrived at Advik's house to meet Sama when she saw an open window and a low sound coming from it. She went to listen closely to make sure that she would not be intruding upon their privacy when she caught the last sentence that Advik was saying to Sama. She was rooted to the spot in shock. Abhay - her Abhay is the king of all supernaturals!!! And he never even bothered to tell her that. She was furious. First the truth about Liana and Alina, and now this!!! What more was Abhay hiding from her? He better tell her everything now. She stomped away in anger to demand answers from Abhay.
"So does that mean, that Abhay is your vampire brother? Does he know that and why do you both hate each other so much if you knew that he was just a puppet in the vampire council's hands?" Sama could not help asking this. There were so many unanswered questions and she wanted answers to all of them now.
"I don't hate him Sama, I never did. It was always the council which made him believe that I am an enemy. When I was first turned, Chand and Haseena guided me into this world. They were good to me. Haseena used to write a diary but she would never show it to anyone. But she always used to say that if ever anything were to happen to them, then I should read the diary and complete their unfinished mission. I did not understand what this was about, but there used to be urgency in her anguished voice and I could not help but promise her to carry out her mission sincerely no matter what it was. Haseena encouraged me to make friends with all supernaturals. She probably knew that I might need them soon. For few years we kept travelling across the world and I made lots of friends some of whom are very loyal to me. During all our travels, I saw Chand and Haseena reading from an ancient book, and then doing some spells but feeling dejected afterwards. I could make out that they were not achieving any success in whatever they were doing. During my interactions with my friends and their friends I learnt how bad the vampire council now was and how ruthless our king was. I used to loathe him at that time, but Haseena always used to tell me that things are not always what they seem to be. I did not understand it then. But one day, when I returned home I found our house damaged. I ran inside but could not find Chand and Haseena anywhere. But there was a mark of council there. They used to leave a mark every time they would kill a supernatural during those days. I knew then that they have killed Chand and Haseena too. But why did they do that? I could not understand any reason for that. They were the most peace loving vampires I had ever known. It was then that I remembered Haseena's diary. I knew that there must be something there which would give me answers."
Sama was now listening holding her breath. Not that she needed to breathe now anyways, but still that was the level of anxiety she was now feeling. Probably Advik was finally coming to the truth about his plans. Advik went on, "I looked for the diary and easily found it and began reading it. That was how I came to know about Abhay and Pia's story. To say that I was shocked on learning that our king Abhay was my vampire brother would be an understatement. As I read, I was even more shocked to know that the monster of today used to be so kind hearted. I was disgusted at what the council had done to him, to Chand and Haseena and above all an innocent human Pia, just in their obsession for the ultimate power. I had promised Haseena that I would complete her mission not even knowing what it was, but now that I knew it, I knew that Haseena need not even have asked me for a promise. I would have done that anyway. I vowed to expose the council in front of the whole world and above all in front of Abhay who had become nothing more than a puppet in their hands. He might be the most powerful creature on this Earth, but he was never meant to rule us. He was always meant to be just with Pia. He may be strong, but he is not fit to be the king. Till now he had only been doing what the council wanted him to do. He is just a puppet. Because left alone to himself, all he knows is to love Pia and nothing else. He has no ambition and does not know how to rule or govern at all. So you Sama, I had two missions at hand. One was to expose the council and the other one was to fulfil my own ambition. Both these missions were however interlocked and the key to unlock everything was Pia. I had to first find her."
Sama now knew at least one part of Advik's plans. He wanted to be the king of supernaturals. But she wondered would he really make a good king. But keeping that thought aside, she continued to listen to what Advik had to say about finding Pia.
"I was only 10 years into the vampire life that time, but I had taken to it well. From Haseena's diary it was clear that they suspected the council to have hidden Pia's body and guarded it with spells which were preventing the escape of her soul. I had no reason to disbelieve their suspicions. So, I set out in search of Pia's body and in the process travelled across the globe. Lots of my friends helped me. They of course did not know the true reason for my search, but they hated council and liked me enough to help me in anything against council. Everybody tried to find out whatever they could about council's hideouts where they could have hidden Pia's body and after nearly 4 decades, I finally got the information that her body was hidden in Alps - the place where she was killed. The information was leaked by an ex council guard who had been thrown out of the council for raising his voice against killing his mate.
I managed to steal Pia's body and replaced it by a dummy which I have got specially made to look like Pia. I knew that the council was so sure of their safety measures that they would not have bothered to open the glass coffin and check if it was a dummy or a human body as long as it looked like Pia. I brought her body carefully to one of my hideouts. But the challenge now was to break the spells which guarded her soul. I had been researching on that all this while and through some ancient books I knew the counter spells which would set Pia's soul free. I performed all the spells and finally 20 years ago, I could manage to set Pia's soul free. She took birth soon after in USA to parents who did not want her. They abandoned her at road at the mercy of dogs. I had learnt enough spells by then to identify that this was indeed Abhay's Pia. I wished I could take care of her myself but by that time the council and Abhay were after my life. So I did the best thing I could. I placed her in the best foster home in the entire USA and kept observing her and making sure that she is treated right, from a distance. She was important for my mission. She had to grow up well and make Abhay fall for her all over again. Because I knew that once Abhay would fall for her, he would care for no one and nothing but her. I knew the council would not let him go away so easily this time, but I also knew that if he would remember his past he would himself hate the council and all would want to have nothing to do with him. He would himself leave the throne of supernaturals when the time comes and it would make my job really easy to expose the council and their cunningness and project myself as the worthy leader of the supernaturals."
Sama was having mixed thoughts right now. So in a way, Advik was responsible for setting Pia's soul free and her rebirth. He was responsible for uniting her with her long lost soulmate, but he didn't really do it out of charity did he? No, he had his own selfish reasons for doing all this. He wanted to replace Abhay as the king of all supernaturals. But then he wanted to do it non-violently. He had never harmed Abhay or Pia. Rather he had united the two soul mates who looked really happy together unlike her own self. So was he bad or was he good. She could not make up her mind. So she let Advik continue with his story who went on..
"After a few years, Pia was adopted from that foster home. And guess what, she was adopted by the son of her own sister from her previous life. They chose her as she resembled their own dead daughter, and it was Pia's ex sister Misha who gave her the same name as she resembled her too much. But unfortunately her son and his wife got separated within a few years and after that they lost interest in Pia completely. Pia used to travel to Dehradun often to spend time with her now grand mother Misha and that was the only happy times she used to have. But otherwise she was still the custodial child of Misha's son. I could not help Pia around this time as Abhay and the council members had finally managed to capture me and I was imprisoned. It took me quite a few years to be able to manipulate my guards. The mates are the weakness of any vampire but my guards did not have any mates initially, but when they did found their mates, it became quite easy for me to manipulate them. All I had to do was to convince them that the council would take away their mates and kill them if they find about them and they need to keep them guarded much more than they need to guard me. They fell for it and became more focussed in protecting their mates than me and I managed to escape. I immediately set for USA again as I knew Pia would have turned 18 by now and so would have come out of her foster father's custody. I had to get her and bring her to Dehradun and then make Abhay fall for her. But by the time she had already left for Dehradun to meet her grand mother. I thought that maybe this would suit my plans more if Misha were to ask her to stay on in Dehradun with her as then I could have carried out my plans better without Abhay suspecting me. However, I wanted to meet Pia once and so I sent my assistant Arya to get her and that was the worst mistake I ever made. The stupid fiend killed Misha when she tried to ask him why he wanted Pia. If there is one thing I truly despise, then it is unnecessary violence. Besides, killing Misha could have made my plans go awry if Pia would have decided to leave Dehradun forever. But fortunately for me she stayed on.
And rest I think Sama you already know. You know now why I asked you to play cupid between Abhay and Pia and everything else just kept falling in place. It's true that I used you to play cupid between them, but beyond that Sama, you really figured nowhere in my plans. You now know my plans, then figure out for yourself if your being my vampire mate would have helped me any bit in my plans? You just happened to me Sama. I don't know how, but I fell for you. When I saw that Kshitij flirting with you, touching you and you not saying anything to him to stop him, I don't know what boiled inside me then. I felt like ripping him apart then and there though I myself did not know at that time why I was feeling like that. And then when I saw you dying, I could not take it. I had many friends in the supernatural world, but they don't mean anything to me. It was you whom I could not think about losing. I knew it at that moment that unwillingly, I had fallen for you. I know what I did was very selfish of me, but consider it as an act done by someone who had been lonely for more than 50 years. It was after so long that I found someone who felt like mine and I just could not lose that person. So I did the only thing I could to keep you with me forever. I turned you not even thinking how you will feel about it. And if you think that your being a vampire helps me in my missions, then you are wrong Sama. Because as my mate, you are actually the only weakness that I have!! As I said before, the mates are the biggest weakness of vampires. They would do anything to protect them or avenge them if they are wronged. So you see, by making you my mate, I actually gave myself a weakness where I none had. A weakness, which I am afraid can be used by the vampire council against me whenever they found about it. But I am ready to fight anyone for you Sama, because whether you still believe it or not, I do Love You Sama!"
