Well said. In fact your quote said it all in a better manner than I did. The actors should keep their personal lives seperate and spare we fans from tolerating their personal affairs on screen when we look forward to seing our on screen stars creating that magic in their interviews as well.Originally posted by: Chill_Out
You have a point, Poco and a very good one. Definitely, equating actors to characters can lead to two things: Either being utterly disappointed in actors or getting overly defensive about them and end up hurting real people for someone who doesn't even know we exist under the illusion that those actors are the characters which don't exist.
Anyhow, I do agree with you and I can vouch for majority ViSu fans that what we want is interview of the two as lead actors of the show and nothing more. I've said time and again that I'm not too crazy a fan of ViSu off-screen but somewhere, they do bring AbhIya to life and make them believable. Off-screen, I don't know and I don't care even if they're out to kill each other but on-screen, they're magic and in the interviews, we want a certain of their insights into the shows and characters as costars, not off screen relations with each other as friends and buddies. I will not name, but an extremely popular show on an even more popular channel has leads who do not get along well but they tend to give joint interviews. These don't let fans bother much about what they actually feel off screen about each other. Here, we don't get ViSu interviews so even if they are the best of buddies in real life, we really don't care.As far as personal life is concerned, I still say the actors are the first ones who should respect their own privacy. And overdose of any of the celebs is unacceptable to people who're neutral towards them. I happen to be a huge fan of a certain couple, again, name not important and I thank my stars that they get a lot of media coverage. Good for me. But then I can't bring myself to blame people who wait for their favourites to be interviewed when they get frustrated that this particular couple is covered so often.Point being, everyone's not practical but everyone's not foolish either. Most people can differentiate between real and reel life and they're very clear that what they want to see in interviews is the reel life of actors and not the real. I don't know how far I'm making sense because I'm not being able to find the right words to express what I actually feel so I guess I'll just wind up by saying that the actors, themselves, should realise that they're different on screen and off screen and what fans like and the reason why they're fans is because what they are on screen. Too much dose of what the actors are off screen will make them lose fans because like I said, fans are based on what is seen on screen. The tag 'Celebrity' comes with a lot of responsibility which need to be fulfilled if the 'celebrity' wants to remain a 'star'.Thanks for the post. It was much needed =)
