The reason is the channel Miti. They and their ego. They feel that GK are not the ones who have made Punar Vivah popular, they think that the concept itself is popular, which is not true because both the concept and the actors are equally important. Punar Vivah wouldn't have had been what it is today without either. That is why they want to replace the cast because they believe that the show would still continue to be as popular as before, even without Gurmeet and Kratika.

Nina, Anu, I think that's why I won't be able to watch them in their other shows if they do serials. I know I'll be comparing like crazy and nitpicking because Gurmeet and Kratika's acting partnership set a really high benchmark. What seemed to help was that they're both sort of similar in energy and outlook, willing to take on a challenge. Their future acting partners are going to have to come out blazing right away or cover a lot of ground to get where they were together, IMHO. So, to spare myself the frustration, 😆 I'd rather just end my serial watching journey here.

Honestly, Gurmeet and Kratika are the first actors I've seen in a promo and decided to watch the show based on the promo alone. Usually, I start watching a show after it starts and figure out which characters and pairings I like along the way. But this was the first time I saw sparks flying in the midst of this emotional tension between the characters and I wanted to see what the story was about. They've owned me since the first episode.

Anu, if the characters they end up choosing have some layers to them, that will be a blessing. I really can't imagine them doing roles now that are pedestrian, that won't challenge them the way Yash and Aarti have. Well, on the 4Lions thing, it seems to be speculation by one fan, but I don't know. The fact that he's undecided still could leave some room. If that is indeed the big project Star Plus has offered. Like Kirthi says, the project may not even be a show. So we'll have to wait and see. I found the ZA news first on today's DC. Then I went over to their FB and saw the comments. There are just about 8 or so comments there, but that's where the majority of the speculation was.

Interestingly enough, I was thinking about something last week and someone made a comment on ZA FB that reminded me of it. You know what role I'd love to see Gurmeet play -- a Magnificent bas***d. 😛 A dark character with shades of humanity. I think I remember reading that he played a villain before. Since his two most recent roles were romantic lead ones, it might be interesting to see him play a complex baddie, a main antagonist to the protagonist, if a good production house could manage it. Not sure how keen Gurmeet would be with that, though, and how responsive some fans might be. But I'd be interested in seeing if he'd be able to make viewers embrace or be sympathetic toward a baddie in spite of his badness, or hate the character completely. The only downside -- most baddies are very one-note in Indian serials. 🤔

I'm hoping Kratika gets solid offers soon as well. Something she feels she hasn't done before, something that will indeed challenge her. If I could interview her I think that would be one of the first questions I ask -- what kind of role would she like to play next?

but i think if all this just because of channel's or PH's ego it will back fire on them as now for all viewers Punar vivaah can only be related to AarYa/GurIka

The PH has no ego-problems, that I am sure of! Even if Sumeet sir himself says that there were ego-clashes, I won't believe him! 😆 It is very evident that the PH loves the show as much as we do. They can't say anything in front of the channel because they have their own limitations. In all these, the only person I would fault would be the channel and their money-mindedness. Because of them, a show, that is dear to the PH and the cast, has to be shut. Could I hate the channel any more?

Lyra I don't think he's faking it. In a way I think it's a good thing because they do have some unresolved issues to address and this kidnapping arc will help with that. I think the show will end on a good note but after Aarti and Yash have fully cleansed themselves of their issues as I think Kirthi and Jac mentioned.
