One of the movies I have watched multiple times. It subtly shows problems with Indian society n how we want to do so many things for our country n it's ppl still feel helpless.

Ashutosh , SRK and movie all deserved national award.

That Swades Train scene....where he is buying water from a little boy....those eyes of SRK haunt me when I think about it......SRK is such a powerful actor when he wants to act....I mean for me that scene is the best scene of any movie.....I don't think even SRK can recreate that scene now...

This movie should have been made a bit shorter maybe.

Swadesh was too realistic. and back then audience was used to watching mass entertainment. they didn't like the realistic approach maybe.

I mean back then people liked dramatic movies and shows. It is evident from the tv shows of that time. And Swadesh was like watching someone's day to day life, it was that realistic.

Also for movies there are 'the right' and 'not the right' times... however, what - imo - makes movies impactful is the approval they get in 'other times'.
