Kangana Ranaut is preparing to return to two of her most popular films, Queen and Tanu Weds Manu. After years of speculation, both sequels are finally taking shape, with Queen 2 scheduled for 2025 and Tanu Weds Manu 3 set to follow in 2026.
According to reports, Queen 2 will go on floors in November 2025 under director Vikas Bahl, who also helmed the first part. The script has been finalised, and the team is currently scouting locations. Much like the original, the new chapter will span India and abroad, with London expected to play a central role. A source quoted by Pinkvilla shared, “The idea for a sequel stemmed from a strong script, and the team is bullish on recreating the magic of the first part.”
Soon after wrapping Queen 2, Ranaut will move to Tanu Weds Manu 3. Anand L Rai, who directed the previous films, has reportedly completed the script and plans to begin filming in early 2026 once he finishes his next project Tere Ishk Mein. The third instalment will revisit the small-town setting that defined the franchise, combining humour, emotion and drama.
One of the highlights of Tanu Weds Manu 3 will be Ranaut’s reunion with R. Madhavan. The actor, who played Manu in the earlier films, is expected to return for the next part. Buzz suggests that Ranaut’s character will explore new dimensions in the story, bringing a mix of quirky and dramatic shades. An insider said, “The script has shaped up well, and the makers are excited to take the film on floors.”
Both films carry strong box office potential. Queen earned Ranaut a National Award and became a cultural milestone, while Tanu Weds Manu Returns remains one of the highest-grossing women-led films in Bollywood. Industry observers believe the sequels could draw significant interest given the continued popularity of these stories.
With Queen 2 and Tanu Weds Manu 3, Ranaut’s upcoming line-up signals a busy phase in her career, bringing back characters that have left a lasting imprint on audiences.
