@Jyoti - The way Papa Dubey behaves makes me feel that he is wiling to do absolutely anything to get Aarti married.. Its more to do with washing his hands of the social stigma associated with being associated with a woman who's husband has left her.. He mentioned in an episode sometime back, that they left Indore being unable to cope up with the societal pressure.. He is absolutely unwilling to do anything that could jeopardize the wedding.. Forget Aarti, if Daddy Scindia had asked that Papa Dubey change his name to whatever Arpita's fathers name is, he might have done that also... 😕

PS: I like that they made the Bachelor Party make sense ! I saw some people going why is Yash having a Bachelor Party considering its his second marriage and all .. (although I say why not? If the man was happy and wanted to have one there's nothing wrong with it but here as per the character he didn't obviously) BUT I knew that they'd do it for my (LOL) Pratik's happiness 😃 .. and it also makes sense .. I mean just because Yash is doing his second marriage doesn't mean they'd mellow down the marriage for Pratik ... and Yash and Pankaj are understanding enough to let him have the fun in his wedding... so yay for understanding! 😆

I swear Z ..entire FB were going bonkers about why bachelar party 😆😆😆...Even though I knew the main reason behind such a useless outburst on FB 😆 ...but I m happy that CVs gave a valid justification for the bachelar party especially Pankaj's dialogues regarding his responsibilities and then Yash deciding to b a part of the celebration for Pratik's happiness ...that was perfect 😳

So hats off to d cv's.
But one req. to d cv's can we plz get back our hockey stick aarthi for once.
Her character has suddenly taken a U turn.

@Mansi: Thanks! 😳 Aarti's characterisation has been stewing in my mind for a while now.

I do think we have caught glimpses of the "real Aarti" and I think they are mostly with kids. That is when I like her best, the first scene with Ansh and the ice cream, the scene at the mall with Payal and Palak and the rain scene with Ansh. At heart I think she is still a bit of child craving the childhood that was stolen from her by the death of her parents. I see this in her interactions with Shobha where she could get positively childish and overreact and the touching thing was that in Shobha she found someone who loved her for all of it.

On the other hand we mostly see her two extremes of bravado and fragile helplessness. I think the best example of this was the race. Before the race she was so confident, assuring Ansh that she had silenced so many people like this before etc and as soon as they fell and lost the race, she completely deflated. I understand that Ansh's words hit a very sensitive nerve but she is the parent and it was her job to give Ansh a lecture about the importance of participation and good sportsmanship, not emotionally implode!

So I think Aarti is emotional, fragile, volatile and childlike at this stage and given the fact that she has been through so much, she has had to grow up quickly. But this growth is not organic, it is artificial and forced to happen under pressure (like an American diamond 😆) so when faced with a situation of real gravity, it crumbles under the duress. But the Dubeys have treated her so delicately that she didn't notice the difference. Now is the true test of her inner strength which we can all see but she is yet to discover.

btw...DYING to know what mommy and poppy Scindia think about the Bachelor party?

@Samana: Yes you are right, this childlike quality in Aarti so far seems to be her "most authentic self". But going into the future, I am not sure how that will work out in her relationship with Yash, for instance. With the kids (his and hers) I can see that quality being evident, and maybe even in her interactions with the rest of the family, there is an innocence in her that projects itself. But in intensely romantic scenes with Yash ...?

@sns23: Ooh good point! Maybe Aarti was outgoing and vivacious with Prashant and the failure of that relationship is making her apprehensive to be herself here. Her self-esteem issues must be playing a big part in her silence as she sees the situation as too tense to act impulsively or without Shobha's approval. As we see she keeps looking to Shobha for approval and support through all the ceremonies, including the first aarti when she touched her in-laws' feet. She is feeling incredibly insecure about her own capability to make the right decisions.

@Mira: Maybe they will play Ludo...with the dancer. 😉😲

I was expecting Yash to keep silence about the name change and I was right, as it will be used later on that he was as much against it as Aarti, even thought reasons r different according to the current situations and conditions they r put in...
