@Laxmi :I can see Pankaj hving affair with Mansi soon since Mansi ka hubby is forever busy in South Africa and Vidhi is forever busy with her family bahu duties ..perfect match 😆😆😆
About Yash being quiet here ..its more of his guilt which has come mainly from Arpita's mom accusing him of how in future he might forget Arpita just how today he is giving away his wife's rights and his kids ke mother ka rights to Aarti ...basically Arpita's mom is saying people move on in life even after several claims ...nothing is guaranteed ...Yash too knows its a bitter truth ..and so the silence ...
His silence was taken as a Yes ..but he has not made the complete decision yet

Precisely! That's what I have been asking...

Were Arpita and Vidhi's names changed?

Will Paridi's name be changed?! I'd liker to see her reaction and her parents'!!😆

If they are not consistent then this is just a very clumsy and crass story-telling ploy - reserved specially for Aarti as emotional atyaachaar...

Just my POV 😊

I agree with your point of view, and i think if it was Arati's first marriage, then she would have definitely walked out of it. But now it is all a compromise, she is taking everything for Ansh, because, if becoz of her the marriage stops, then she will not be able to handle Ansh, as he loves Yash very much.

Even today, Scindia brought the topic of accepting Ansh as a big favour😡

So she is just taking all these crap just for her child. I think, once the marriage is over and Yash will support her, then she will become more bold and voice out her opinions.

What is the use of talking about her pehchaan and astitiva when she cannot even stand up for herself in the face of the Scindias? I think rather than Shobha pleading her case Aarti should have been the one to say straight out "I do not want the name of a dead woman, however much the dead woman's parents want it". Instead Aarti stood there, staring at the floor and at Shobha, unable to say even one word. There is an inconsistency in the way the CVs are portraying Aarti. Initially she was the hockey-stick weilding power woman, and nowadays she has become a silent spectator, taking all kinds of rubbish without even the slightest resistance.

Mansi, wonderful take! I really look forward to the way you structure your write-ups everyday because you always bring out a very interesting and pointed perspective on the episode.

Now to address the quote above, especially the bold part, this has been playing on my mind for a while and I have been thinking about why Aarti seems to be the only character that has done a 180 degree turn from the way we first saw her. It doesn't seem consistent with all the other very deliberate characterisations of the show so I figured Aarti's silence must be deliberate on some level too and this is what I came up with.

I think the hockey-stick-weilding Aarti that we met was an Aarti that had total control over her life and her future. Albeit not completely fulfilled, she was content with her life and felt loved and safe in the Dubey cocoon with her life revolving around Ansh.

Ever since this PV came up and her parents have been blackmailing her into this marriage, she has lost control over her life completely. Suddenly out of nowhere she finds herself engaged to a man of "questionable character", seemingly with no way out because now her son is involved and invested and may not recover from the loss of a second father.

So it is not that Aarti is less strong, it is that the situation is far too daunting for her to be the fearless gundi we all loved. She is actually a rather sensitive person as we complained even after the first episode that she didn't react to the fat saas lady and assumed her to be a sehmi-sehmi type. So I think this fragile, uncertain Aarti is the real thing and the hockey gundi was the facade. But we liked the latter so much that we choose to assume that is the "real Aarti".

The hockey stick incident was bravado, limited to the surface. Aarti needs to find and appreciate her inner strength to be able to take a stand and speak out against the injustices being doled out to her wholesale.

Not on my laptop .. (my mom won't give me mine back 😭) so thought I'd spare a few moments on my sister's and come here.. cannot even watch an epi in peace so I make do with your analysis for now. .
But I did see that they wanted Aarti to change her NAME!? To Arpita!?! I completely DISAGREE that they should change her name. This is a second marriage NOT an identity change! Ok if she wants to change her surname that's a different thing but change her name to Yash's dead wife? Where is the logic in this? It is not fair to Aarti OR Arpita for that matter! Aarti is a woman with her own mind and her own life. She has made an identity for herself and no one should be forcing her to change that just to accomodate situations others want to force upon her. Highly wrong for them and even Yash. I mean in what angle would he feel the least bit comfortable calling her Arpita so that his past keeps flashing into his face everytime he says it?! Aarti is not here to replace Arpita .. she is here to marry Yash, to give herself a new chance at life and the kids as well. Same goes for Yash. So the fact that the Scindia's do not understand this is making me angry. They shouldn't do this. I know Arpita's parents are very emotional in this matter but for now they need to realize that Aarti is is Aarti and Arpita is Arpita. They will never be the same person. In the future Aarti will make her place into the Scindia family just like Arpita did but that doesn't mean she is going to live her life. She'll make her own memories there.
PS: Cannot wait for the Bachelor Party. Looks like Pratik and Pankaj will enjoy more ofcourse LOL .. but waiting for yummilicious Yash to make his entry =p .. and both Yash and Pratik look handsome in black <3

Its just Arati special 😆

I don't think even Scindiyas are not keen to change Arati's name, but they don't wnat to upset Arpita's parents. So after marriage, they can stick on to Arati's original name.

And this name change comes only when everyone including Yash calls her as Arpita, which I think is not going to happen.

Pankaj needs a backbone in front of his wife ..
Pratik needs to confront the major issues ..he is no more a kid
Yash needs to come out of his guilt trip soon and take the responsibility of Aarti ...Past can b kept as memory but present needs to b handled properly
Aarti needs to bring her hockey-stick independent nature back in action and confront Yash soon regarding all her doubts and issues
Vidhi needs to balance out her life properly before her hubby goes out of her reach 😉😆
Daddy Scindia needs to be a human first before declaring himself as God
Gayatri needs to find out her own identity before deciding someone else's identity in the family
Arpita's mom needs to realise that Aarti too is someone's daughter and has a certain existence just like Arpita ...A mom can b selfish but cannot turn a blind eye to facts
Arpita's dad too like Gayatri needs to find out his own identity before deciding other's identity
Mr.Dubey needs to start confronting people to keep his family's dignity and honour intact
How many will complete the journey in the end remains to b seen 😳

Perfect sum up!!

I was just thinking about Vidhi - she is soo involved in being a good mother, daughter-in-law and bhabhi, that she has completely sidelined the most important person in her life - her husband, because of whom she got all these relationships! Poor Pankaj, I hope he doesn't stray coz of frustration.. Vidhi is a very grounded person, but has taken Pankaj completely for granted..

The Scindia relics need to go out once in a while and see other families.. I hated the way they summarily dismissed Aarti's need for her own individuality...

Papa Dubey needs a reality check, getting Aarti married is not going to solve all the problems he created in the process of doing that..

@Samana: That was an absolutely sensational analysis you have done of the reasons why Aarti's character may have changed so much from the hockey-stick gundi to the docile unresistant floor-staring woman. In fact you took me by surprise when you pointed out that the gundi was the facade and the real Aarti may be the one unsure of herself and her future.
I don't necessarily think that the bold Aarti is better than the reticent one, but the key thing is which of these personas is going to come to the fore in this marriage. Neither the gundi nor the silent one seem right. Shouldn't we have a new personality for Aarti that is somewhere between the two extremes - or perhaps something entirely unexpected?
Her character seems unevolved at the moemnt (in fact even Yash's character seems that way). I want to see how they evolve separately and together and which aspects of themselves really comes to the fore to define them in this marriage.
