Some bitter truths and a whirlpool of misunderstanding.
Truth 1: "Are you hiding something?" Gayatri's instincts are right, Dubeys were, and her queries to them were pretty legit. There was a nervous aura surrounding the Dubeys, and Gayatri sensed it.
Truth 2: "Arpita was such a nice happy person. Aarti looks to be hard." Comparisons are bound to happen. No one knows Aarti as a person, but they knew Arpita, so opinions have formed with this half truth.
Truth 3: "We took care of all your demands." Even a broad-minded couple like Dubeys had to give in to dowry demands. A shocker for righteous person like Aarti. Her fuming reaction was understandable, though totally misinterpreted by the parents. They hid truth from Aarti on two accounts, and ironically, one lie provided them the relief cover for the other, more deadly one----the hiding of divorce
The Misunderstanding: Wow, that was a googly from the CVs. Aarti blows her fuse on learning about the wedding expenses, and her parents end up thinking," Thank God, she knows about the divorce thing." As the audience, I applaud this master stroke, 👏but at the same time I can't help querying, WHAT ARE THE DUBEYS THINKING?😡 They exonerate themselves thinking finally Aarti knows the truth. But in the process they are letting their daughter enter a new world with all her defences down owing to such a big cover-up and with absolutely no ally on the other side (presently). In plain words, they have left Aarti to face that music. I didn't like this. Yes, that's the gunpowder in the armoury of CVs for a future track, and I don't really blame them, but to me that puts the Dubeys in a poor light for judging the situation so badly.
A well-paced episode once again. I loved the Ganesh puja sequence----The awkwardness of one couple versus overenthusiasm of the other was well depicted.
