Nicely said Shraddha but I want a specific ruler, not a whole dynasty....
I would not say someone else was the greatest king...but I will not participate in this thread only judge this one...thanks!mansi i have edited my post to include the name of the king - samdura gupta.. yes its unfortunate that not many people know about him.. they are all more familiar with his son chandragupta vikramaditya... CGV was more responsible for maintaing and developing what his father built.. but it was samudra gupta who singularly did what many others never did! ๐

Yeh guptas.. ๐
but what about Chattrapathi Shivaji Maharaj..
I have heard a lot about this king and his bravery. ๐
i know my friend neha would be able to help you out a lot more with this as she has done pretty extensive research on chatrapati shivaji... but according to what i know of him.. unfortunately or fortunately, he ruled during the period the British decided to set foot in India and annexe existing Kingdoms. hence, a prime part of his rule was restricted to forcing out the British. The extent of his empire was not as great as the ones mentioned above... he was more popular for his bravery, courage, new tactics of warfare like the guerilla warfare...
there were many family politics during his time of rule too and sadly not many supported his struggle against the British. hence he came to be known more as a freedom fighter than as an emperor... but my hats off to this great great great soul... ๐
