Nicely said Shraddha but I want a specific ruler, not a whole dynasty....

I would not say someone else was the greatest king...but I will not participate in this thread only judge this one...thanks!

mansi i have edited my post to include the name of the king - samdura gupta.. yes its unfortunate that not many people know about him.. they are all more familiar with his son chandragupta vikramaditya... CGV was more responsible for maintaing and developing what his father built.. but it was samudra gupta who singularly did what many others never did! 😃

thanks shraddha....i just read it....good good...you picked someone socially, culturally, and economically feasible for india....great job👏👏

i know my friend neha would be able to help you out a lot more with this as she has done pretty extensive research on chatrapati shivaji... but according to what i know of him.. unfortunately or fortunately, he ruled during the period the British decided to set foot in India and annexe existing Kingdoms. hence, a prime part of his rule was restricted to forcing out the British. The extent of his empire was not as great as the ones mentioned above... he was more popular for his bravery, courage, new tactics of warfare like the guerilla warfare...

there were many family politics during his time of rule too and sadly not many supported his struggle against the British. hence he came to be known more as a freedom fighter than as an emperor... but my hats off to this great great great soul... 👏

like all i also dont think prc was the greatest ruler of all times
cause the reasons are few and simple
the first was that he was the one who transfered the rule of india from indians outsiders
and also his quality of being nice was too nice for him and then we all now his end

according to me i believe ASHOKA THE GREAT was the greatest Indian emperor
He was an Indian emperor, of the Maurya Dynasty who ruled from 273 BC to 232 BC. Often cited as one of India's greatest emperors, Ashoka reigned over most of present-day India after a number of military conquests. His empire stretched from present-day Afghanistan and parts of Persia in the west, to the present-day Bengal and Assam states of India in the east, and as far south as Mysore state. His reign was headquartered in Magadha (present-day Bihar state of India). He embraced Buddhism from the prevalent Vedic tradition after witnessing the mass deaths of the war of Kalinga, which he himself had waged out of a desire for conquest. He was later dedicated in the propagation of Buddhism across Asia and established monuments marking several significant sites in the life of Gautama Buddha.Besides this he was the one who was able to bring the whole India under one ruler without using much of war in his later life.

He saw wars that people still fear but still was the one called the nobel one
he is the one who learned from his mistakes and did not repeate it as in case is prithvi raj
