I ..i confronted him n we ..we had a fight n in the end I shot him...' lakhan said ...' give me ur gun!' said manu ...' why?' lakhan said , n protested as manu forcefully took the gun from his pocket ... He checked the gun, durjjan's eyes hard on lakhan ...' if I were u , I would have emptied my rank all into the devil's head... u have still five pending !' said manu , looking at lakhan ... 'I .i didn't like wasting my bullets on that bas***d ! what's the diff ..one or six! I shot him! ..' lakhan snapped ... dujjan sighed 'where? lakhan gulped n explained what exactly happened ... ... manu was excited as he thumbed lakhan on the shoulder...' good job bro! lets celebrate' ... 'no! not yet! ...I don't think he will be dead ! at any rate he will be mortally injured ...' durjjan said , excited too... He wringed his hands in glee ...KST down! mortally injured ! Ha! ...his revenge is done! Partially! ... can't wait to see sajjan's face' he laughed evilly ... Lakhan called sakthi 'ha! Sakthi bhai , u can come back home now! KST is down' he roared into the phone... 'what?' sakthi listened in disbelief, who was in Malasiya , on a extended holiday ...'yes! come soon n u might get to see the devil's dead body' laughed manu ... sakthi cut the phone, feeling gleeful...his foe thwarted ! ... he could feel a pang of jealousy that his younger brother got the success , but ... Sajjan walked in consternation, along the corridor of the hospital , his eyes blood shot ... Pratap held sumitra by shoulder, who was sobbing, her eyes frantic... gayatri followed them , trying to mask her glee... just when she thought everything was over , a new development presented itself ... by any rate krishna will be mortally injured ...if not dead... she remembered the words of the pandit ... he has a fair chance of dying , when he is 26 ... n his 26^th birthday is approaching ...yes! may be he will just die! ..yes! just die! Devil! ... So that I n my son can be the true owners of the whole riches ... she thought evilly ... angad walked behind all, having difficulty in masking his glee ...his greatest n dangerous foe is down! ... Pratigya stood lifeless , in front of the operation theatre , her eyes vacant, but fixed on the door , her body slackened ... her front was covered in blood ... she had gone into a state of shock ... her mind had went blank the moment krishna lost consciousness ... she hadn't cried , nor her pupils even fluttered since then... all she could hear is a deafening buzz in her ears , all she could see was colored images , his face prominent in them... She wasn't aware of her body ... It was as if she was continuously floating in a cloud of ...pain..sheer , brutal pain... Sajjan felt pangs of guilt pierce him as he watched pratigya ... she is his bahu n he did very wrong to her! ... The girl looked as though her whole world has gone! ... Sajjan walked to her , running a fatherly hand along her head ...pratigya didn't seem to be aware of him... sajjan's eyes twitched in pain as he took in the deep anguish in her eyes ...he blinked as he saw sumitra placing her hand along pratigya's head too n quickly withdrew his , not meeting sumitra's eyes ...angad eyed pratigya , lusting over her , his eyes roving her wet body ...

The OT opened n a nurse came outside, frantic ...'we will need blood ...the group is AB+... thakur sahab has lost substantial amount of blood...' she said , tensed ... Pratigya's eyes flickered in fear , otherwise she didn't move ... 'drain me... mine is AB+' said sumitra , almost running towards the door ... sajjan looked around at sumitra , his eyes moist ... Sumitra gazed at sajjan before going inside , squeezing pratigya's unresponsive hand... Sajjan sighed, hot tears springing from his eyes n gayatri placed a fake hand along his shoulder ...he sat down , feeling tired all of a sudden ... his baba! The invincible devil ! is down ! that too by some coward hitting him with a bullet from behind!! ...sajjan mashed his teeth in anger , even as his heart bled in concern n pain over his son... moments passed , torturous n maddening n sajjan looked up at sumitra as she came back, her eyes closed in prayer ... he looked at her serene n strong face n felt the pain in his heart ease a bit ... his eyes moved to watch pratigya , who didn't even seem to breathe ...the door to the OT opened n the doctor stepped out , his face grave ...'how's my baba?' sajjan asked , standing up , his voice strained n tensed ...'chote thakur had lost a considerable amount of blood , thakur sahib! N the mandir was a bit far away ... it's sheer miracle that his bones aren't injured , but he is not really out of danger ...we can only say anything after 24 hours ...' the doctor said , tensed n concerned ...sajjan's hand clasped around sumitra's , who had come to stand next to him...their eyes met , in mutual fear for their child's life , trying to assure each other n trying to find assurance from each other all at the same time ...

gayatri's hawk like eyes widened in shock as she watched the exchange n quickly moved forward n put her hand along sajjan's literally pulling it away from sumitra's ... 'don't worry sajjan ... our Krishna will be alright! ...he is KST! N nothing bad will happen to him...! ' gayatri said , her voice full of fake concern , while she smiled in evil glee inside her heart ...oh! what did the doctor say ! that devil would be in danger for 24 hrs?...die! let him die!...pratigya who was standing like a statue just ran inside the OT , pushing open the door , as if in a trance ... sumitra , her tears spilling both for her son n at the way sajjan's hand suddenly left hers , gasped , seeing pratigya running inside the OT ...'stupid girl! Somebody stop her!' gayatri almost shouted , trying to make it sound like she was just being concerned ...sumitra glared at her n went after pratigya , calling her ' beti..' chandu stared at the opposite stretch of wall , the guards shifting on their legs , disturbed n concerned ...the doctor n nurses went inside , to find sumitra trying to drag pratigya away from door of the main OT inside ... pratigya wasn't saying anything , nor was she crying... she was just fighting tooth n nail against sumitra , her neck stretched in her frantic attempts to look through the glass window over the door ...she could see his form, laying face down, covered in hospital clothes, could barely make out his face , covered in oxygen mask ...the nurses tried to help a sobbing sumitra to pull pratigya away from the door ...sajjan could see the happenings from the view glass window over the outer door n he just pushed open the door n walked towards them...gayatri watched in shock as sajjan held sumitra's hand , stopping her from pulling pratigya away from the main OT door ...the nurses fell back...sumitra looked at sajjan in shock n confusion ...'let her be here near him ... n also after he is shifted to ICU...' he said to sumitra, his eyes moist as he watched pratigya plaster herself against the door of the main OT, looking inside at his form through the small glass window ...it looked like the world around her had ceased to exist for her...she seemed only aware of him...n him alone! Her desperate n pained eyes worshiping him through the glass partition... sumitra nodded , her eyes leaking as she watched pratigya too ...sajjan nodded at the doc n put his arms around sumitra's shoulder , almost helping her walk outside .

sajjan released her once outside the corridor n said to chandu , his eyes flickering to pratigya's silhouette he could see behind him ...'bring her mother here, immediately ...the poor girl will find some solace then...' chandu nodded , smiling slightly ...gayatri watched in horror as sumitra sat down a bit near to sajjan along the chairs ...oh no! what's happening ? they must not get closer!!! ... Even in their son's death! ...angad nudged her on her elbow ..'I want to talk to u , come with me...' he said to gayatri , walking towards the other end of the corridor ...gayatri hastily followed him ...'what is it? Now don't make me even more upset! All our plans r thwarted n I just wish the devil dies or is mortally injured ...! That s**t we brought to get the files is now his slave ...oops no! wife!!!...not only we lost all opportunities to secure the files, I could see that bitch trying to get back into sajjan's life again ' gayatri snapped , frustrated , her eyes slits on sumitra ... it was already dawn n slowly sajjan's phone started ringing ... The news that sajjan singh is at city hospital had spread like wild fire n shiv n chandu had their hands full of media n VIPs enquiring about the reason ... to prevent the media from cooking up stories shiv had issued a statement on behalf of sajjan that KST has met with an accident when he was returning from his family mandir with his wife ...shiv n iqbal were such loyal men of KST that , they could barely control their own tension n pain n concern ...but like true professionals , they managed to stay calm ... Chandu left shiv n iqbal to manage the affairs at hospital n instructed Shankar to manage the affairs at home as he dashed to shailendra's house ...his mind swirled in tension even as he drove to shailendra's house ...the doctor said that they have to wait for 24 hours! What does that mean? ...pls god, pls... he will do anything! Let his brother be alright! He prayed ...his phone rang n it was geetha ...he answered it, feeling a bit lighter to hear her voice ...she made him feel better , assuring him that KST will be fit n fine... so that she can get her interview very soon, with KST n his wife! ...chandu smiled despite himself n promised her again to arrange the interview ASAP... sections of media were present at shailendra's house, asking an irritated bakshi why the minister is not visiting the hospital yet to which he replied that its 6 in the morning n minister needs to freshen up first as he is an old man... Chandu was surrounded by the media for updates n he tactfully dodged their queries , explaining that he came there to pick pratigya's mother, as KST wished to see his lovely wife consoled by the presence of her mother ... bakshi n shailendra listened in shock n anger as chandu smiled innocently at them...

once inside the hall, shailendra shouted at chandu 'how dare u? I will decide where my wife wants to go or not ..u ...' he shut his mouth as chandu interrupted , his eyes mocking ...'the video of u instructing ur sister to torture ur wife is still with us , in addition to the files ... Now if u want I could just release it to the media ... Now! Call pratigya's mother! ...' ...shailendra fumed as he indicated ramu chacha to cal renuka ... Chandu smirked ... he had no intension to release the video as it had portions which mentioned KST as a devil n hinted at his Casanova lifestyle ... But Shailendra shouldn't know about it ... Renuka looked frightened as she came with ramu chacha , manjula smiling evilly behind her ... 'what happened to daamadji? I will come to the hospital shortly...' shailendra smiled for the benefit of the media even as chandu opened the door of his benz n urged renuka to get in ...'don't worry maji, u r going to meet ur daughter n trust me, this is the last time u see this hell hole n ur devilish husband ...' chandu murmured to a startled renuka as she got in ... her shocked eyes turned into pools of gratitude n disbelief as she clutched at her bosom with her frail hands n sobbed ... what? She is leaving this hell hole forever ? 'but ..but beta .. why ... I .. don't ..understand ..i ..' she sobbed , overwhelmed n yet confused ...'we.. we... came to know of the truth of ur condition here n its ur damaad's wish that u should spend the rest of ur life in happiness with ur daughter ...he loves ur daughter n he can't see her worried , u know ..' chandu said , smiling ... Renuka sobbed harder , this time in happiness ... 'but ..but ... manjula was telling me that ..that daamaadji is in ICU ..in grave danger ..' renuka said , worried... Chandu gripped the steering , his eyes twitching...' he ..he met with a small accident n bhabhi is inconsolable ... Nothing to worry , really maji...he is alright !' chandu added hastily as renuka gasped in shock n sadness ... 'just be a pillar of strength to bhabhi ... she will feel better once she sees u...' chandu continued , trying to smile ...renuka nodded, wiping her tears ...

sajjan n sumitra stood up their hands folded , as chandu brought renuka towards the ICU ... renuka folded her hands in gratitude n respect as she mumbled , her eyes teary 'I ..i wasn't well ..all these days... Sorry i.. was not present even during the rituals of wedding ...I ..' ...'oh! Its alright renuka ji... i...we understand' smiled sumitra , hugging renuka ...'I so wanted to meet u, n couldn't due to ...various reasons...' Sighed sumitra, her eyes flickering to sajjan n then back to renuka...sajjan shifted from foot to foot, awkward ...'ur daughter is so nice n beautiful ... thank u for giving us our baba's soulmate' sumitra smiled through her tears ... 'yes! Ur daughter is really a nice girl...' sajjan smiled ... renuka swelled in pride , tears of happiness leaking from her eyes ... All her prayers r answered ...'how's ..how's damaadji? she asked , worried n tensed ...'oh!my baba is perfectly fine... But ur daughter needs to be convinced of it...' smiled sumitra , wiping her tears ... pratigya sat like a statue , on a chair, near his bed in the ICU, her eyes fiercely training over his face... her face was covered in a mask to prevent infection n she was wearing plain blue gown ...she wasn't even aware of them or even how sumitra n a nurse had put them over her n even when they dried her hair ...they couldn't get her out of her wet clothes as she refused to budge from his side even for a micro sec...all she could see was his face n closed eyes ... All she could hear was her heart thundering , waiting for the moment when his eyes will open n he will gaze at her ...a weird buzz in her head!... she won't move an inch !... what if he wakes up n doesn't find her? ..she felt a familiar hand caress her cheeks n blinked ... Ma?... she felt the knot in her chest loosening a bit as she saw her mother's face ...tears sprung from her eyes as she said ...'ma... i... he told me he will bring u out of that hell hole! ... U won't need to go back to that hell! ... Never ..ever... no one will torture u ma..' pratigya hugged her along her waist n cried ...n cried ... letting out all her relief at seeing her mother again...at the comforting knowledge that her mother will be always with her from now on ...glad that her mother is finally out of the hell hole! ... Glad that she won't hear any senseless voices in her head n could immerse herself in her love for him, her Krishna!...but ..'but ma..why isn't he waking up?' pratigya sobbed ... renuka cried silently , gazing at her daughter's anguished face n pulled pratigya's face to her bosom, hugging her...

What if he wakes up n doesn't find me? He will be upset! ... No!' pratigya shook her head frantically , moving away from renuka as though she feared renuka might forcefully take her away from him...' beti ..listen..' renuka began , but pratigya moved closer to krishna , raising her hand in warning ...' no! Ur wife is with u now? Shouldn't u be following her inside the ICU ? u know, be at ur son's death bed?' drawled durjjan , smirking at sajjan ... sajjan gritted his teeth, fisting his hands , his eyes flashing in rage... All the guards' hands flew to their gun but sajjan held up his hand , his eyes on dujjan ...'ha!
