Ammaji was against the wedding of Kriya right from day one and she has tried almost every other way to destroy their relationship..She made most use of the times when Pratigya thought Krishna was responsible for her family's sufferings...But this time Ammaji trapped her own son into the net of emotions...Those emotions which directly connects a mother to her child--Motherly affection and care..She took Krishna into confidence that she agrees Pratigya always talks sense and thinks good for TN..She did not plan or rather never thought of burning herself..It was not a part of her plan but because things were out of control she did the most deadly thing and the result was never expected out of her..And now she too has to face consequences following her action..She has been boycotted by her husband and son..She separated a husband and wife and she herself got separated from her husband and literally has to hear everyday that her body smells awful, you cannot eat along with others so no...So what did Ammaji gain out of her haste decision of burning herself?? Actually nothing but that Pratigya is not in TN anymore and Krishna hates Pratigya thats all...She has actually built more problems for herself and that she has been asked to sit in a corner of the house...Did she win or lose??
