@bold Absolutely right. I will repeat what I wrote in another post. Krishna and his folks can't demand respect, they have to earn it. Its a 2 ways street. In no decent family, a sasur drags his bahu out of the house and uses such demeaning words for her, a husband raises his hand on her and humiliates her publicly. He and his family haven't done anything to earn her respect.

In both cases I feel that Pratigya was justified in her actions because both these men behaved rudely with her. She got slapped for telling the truth. A big difference in my eyes.
