What Atma Sammaan ?

Today Pratigya gave a speech about Atma Sammaan . I wont ever compromise with my Atma Sammaan she said . U can bring me here but I wont say sorry she said . Ok .

Now where was this Atma sammaan when she agreed to this marraige against her will ? That time she kept aside her Atma sammaan and mariied , is it ? This means at times she does put her Atma Sammaan on hold .

So whats the problem in apologising to elders ? They were not demanding much .........she had indeed rubbed their faces in mud before going .For starters , SHE had said I am leaving the house .........SS had not told her to . In a typical Indian household , in rural hometown , if the bahu blurts bedroom secrets purposefully in front of all , shames the family ., makes the boy's family aware that she is not sleeping with their son and giving him any kind of marital happiness , is the boys family seriously supposed to love her and go to fetch her back or advise their son to divorce her and start afresh ?

For a small town Gal , Pratigya is doing far too much . If she had been married to that Nitin and same secrets were blurted in front of all wud Her saas tolerate her for even one minute in the house ?Wud Jagmohan come to fetch her ? Fetch her for what ?For not giving his son any happiness and such an endless possibility in the future ?

A non consummated marraige , a rigid attitude , innumerable insults to Krishna to the point of telling him Ur not worthy of me............Pratigya talks of atma sammaan when she herself does not even know the name of what sammaaan is as she doesnt respect her husband nor the wishes of others .She cares a damn for Komals life , her bros happiness , her familys reputation now , disrespects her husband as if he is garbage , .................She who does not know the meaning of how respect is given to others how is she demanding atma samman ?

Krishna constantly calls her Pratigya Ji . She calls him KRISHNA

She calls herself HUM and him TUM

Right from her choice in saris to getting her approval on the type of wedding invitation cards Krishna tried to know about her choices and please her . What did she do ?

Sajjan Singh may be a chauvinist and treat his wife badly but with his children he is very loving in his own rustic , uneducated way .His love is genuine . He is tender to Komal , he hasnt slapped her once although she is a girl .She is his flower , his Komaliya . Right from indulging her wishes in eating to planning to build a bigger house for her , Sajjan singh dotes on Komal .

Same with Krishna. What didnt he do for Krishna ? He went twice with shagun to the house of a diffrent caste gal only so that his son shud be happy .When Krishna cut his wrists he bandaged them and told Shakti U wudnt know , U gotta be a Dad for seeing your child in pain . The Saxenas were cold like ice and never even returned his greeting ...forget offering him refreshments. Sajjan Singh tolerated Krishna's innumerable backanswers . Anyday , Sajjan Singh the mcp loves Krishna thousand times more than Pratigya .

Why shud Krishna not realise this ? Why shud he place Pratigya above his father who loved him so much , who watched him fondly as he tied the turban around his head and made him go to ask for a Kayasth gal's hand although it deeply offended his traditional sensibilities ? Does Krishna even know how much his father , egoistic though he is , bent for him ? When he kept his Atma Samaan time and again aside for his son , why is Pratigya , an educated gal making such an issue about it to the point that her marraige also might break ?

Giving blatant arrogance the name of Atma Sammaan is not correct .If one is educated he shud show educaion in another way ...by being humble but still doing the right thing in actions .Constant Tu Tu Mai Mai with elders , telling them they shud bend by coming to fetch , refusing to apologize for ur own deeds is simply not done .

Krishna has no problems seeing his Father bend but is going to pamper Pratigya's non bending stance .Well the creatives are turning Krishna into a common guy who turns his back on his doting parents for an arrogant wife . Thats NOt the Krishna I wud like to see . Whatever Amma may be , she loves her Baba like crazy and so does Sajjan Singh ........krishna was his Kaleja ka tukda . I guess I am traditional at heart . I have not been able to digest Pratigya's immense arrogance one bit but I am furious with Krishna for not taking cognizance of his parents love .

He shud have remembered that his parents bent umpteen times before the marraige in front of Saxena family for HIS SAKE but Pratigya is Unbending even for a trivial issue

If anyone needs Atma samaan its Krishna .He is Fast losing it by constantly giving into Pratigyas double standard whims . So creatives give a dose of ATMA SAMMAN to KRISHNA for a change .

It was for her family's peace of mind that she "CHOSE" to get married. I am not taking sides here, but there are times in our lives too when we stay quiet to mainatin peace and there are times when we must speak up - agreed she should have spoken up b4 things reached this stage - but she was listening to Krishna's wishes when she didn't. Also she already paid the price for blurting out the truth in front of everyone as Krishna had slapped her then.

I think that since things had reached such a stage in her life, the cause of the problem that happened was Krishna not Pratigya, so it was not right to demand an apology from her.

On the other hand, if like you wished she had apologised, what would that imply? Was it right for the Thakurs to treat her the way they did? Was it right for Krishna to slap his wife in front of everyone?

I hope I am not hurting your feelings - but this is just my point of view based on my own experiences in life!!
