It's Raksha Bandhan on Tuesday. Time to strengthen brother-sister bonds. When the brother promises to protect his sister and she in turn pledges a lifetime of love and care. But then all these promises are empty without a fair exchange of gifts.

TellyChakkar spoke to a few men on television on what their sisters wish from them and if they manage to fulfill her demands.

Arhaan Behl: I have two elder sisters Jogita and Bhavana and both of them treat me like a little baby. So, anything that they want they take it from dad or their husbands. They have never asked me for anything, after all I am the pampered one.

article.............................from HT........................😊

I guess it was only a matter of time. Our serials have had families from Gujarat (with every member of the parivaar furiously doing dandiya in between scheming and plotting for the downfall of some family relative or the other), Bengal (women in red-bordered sarees bustling around Durga Puja
pandals, coyly saying "Ooee Ma" every few minutes), Punjab (plenty of "puttars" and "kudis" littering the dialogue), Rajasthan (women in bandini sarees/ghagras deferentially addressing various matriarchs and patriarchs as 'masa' etc), Haryana (women wearing men's shirts and everyone wandering about menacingly, carrying lathis) and Bihar (women wearing kilos of orange sindoor in their hair and everyone dropping words like 'gauna' and 'hamaar'). I'm sure I've left out some part of the country, but never mind.

So it was only a matter of time before UP entered the picture (specially after the success of serials like Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo and Na Aana Is Des Lado, both of which are set in the north — Bihar and Haryana to be precise). The new serial is called Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya (Star Plus) and it's set in Allahabad in UP. Characters use words like 'kantaap' (meaning 'slap,' for those not conversant with UP small town slang) and have dahi-jalebi as a breakfast treat.

As to the story, well, in keeping with the current trend of focusing on social issues, Pratigya is about how women have to cope with what we still call 'eve-teasing.' Standing up to local lafangas can have repercussions on the victim as well — as our heroine finds out, with her cantankerous grandmother blaming her for getting entangled with the 'bad boys' of the neighbourhood.

Pooja Gor's a cry baby!

Pooja Gor, who plays Pratigya on the Star Plus show of the same name, was bickering and yelling on the sets. Everyone thought something had gone drastically wrong with the actress. It's only later that the unit members realised that it was a part of the scene the actress was shooting that day, in which she would be shown returning home days after being kidnapped.

Gor's parents were also on the sets for the first time. The least to say, they were impressed with their daughter's performance. They were moved to tears.

Apparently, even they thought at the outset that something had gone wrong with their girl until the shot got okayed and their daughter ran to them with a smile on her face and explained it was just work

Pooja Gor

Pooja Gor, famously known as Pratigya of Star Plus' 'Pratigya', before becoming an actress was aspiring to be a branch manager of Axis Bank and is still, even after pursuing a career in acting, the model turned actor is stuck to her dream to work in Axis Bank one day. Sounds surprising? Read more.

In a recent conversation with Pooja, she says, "Since my childhood, I had a dream to be a branch manager of Axis Bank one day. I always dreamt of working in my separate cabin with a laptop in my hand, with formal dresses. The dream was so intense that after my S.S.C, I took commerce stream and decided to put as much efforts needed for me to reach my goal. But later on I realized that it really takes a lot of effort to be in that position."

The thinking was really not strange as every child has its own dream destination for which they strive. But why Pooja wants to work in Axis Bank and not any other bank was a big question for us and so we asked her to specify "Actually when I was a kid, my parents use to send me to Axis bank to deposit some cheque or to do some other small activities. During that time, I liked the cabin where the branch manager always sits; I fell for the cabin and made a decision that one day I want to be on that chair. So it became my dream which remained unfulfilled."

So will you try to fulfill your dream? "Yes, Of course as the branch manager is my father's friend and he knows me too. So not officially but I will once sit on the chair and at least have a picture clicked in that cabin or else I will take up such role to essay in my future."

Hope the Branch manager of Ahmedabad Axis Bank is listening!

Pooja Gor

Pooja Gor (Star Plus' 'Pratigya') needs no introduction as she has reached the heights from where each and every person could recognize her as Pratigya. She has made a different identity through the show. As per the recent track of the show, love is blooming between Pratigya and Krishna (Arhaan Behl). And now we come to know that not only on screen but also off screen, the girl has met with her Prince Charming.

A few months ago, the buzz was around that Pooja Gor is dating Raj Singh Arora who was associated with her in 'Koi Aane Ko Hai', though she never confirmed the rumours. But in a tet-a-tete with TellyCafe.com, Pooja confessed!

She did not divulge the more private details about her blossoming love affair, but taking a serious note she confirmed, "Yes, I am seeing some one." When prodded about who the lucky guy is, she revealed, "He is an actor, his name is Raj Singh Arora, who was seen as Yuvi of 'Remix' and was with me in 'Koi Aane Ko Hai'."

Naturally, we had to ask her how long they've been seeing each other, and Pooja shyly told us that they've only been dating for the past 2 or 3 months. And hey, we're not ones to let the girl off the hotseat so fast! We asked her the next obvious question, to which she replied, "Yes, we will get married, but not now. There are more 6-7 years to go before we can start thinking on that line!"

Pooja Gor

Pooja Gor might not be known by everyone, but Pratigya is someone that each and every person these days can identify. The show 'Pratigya' on Star Plus has given Pooja's fame a whole new dimension. TellyCafe.com caught up with the hottest new name in town and got her to share a few thoughts.

Pratigya is a strong character, is Pooja the same in real life?

Pooja in real life is not like Pratigya. There are many differences and similarities between my onscreen and off screen persona. Pooja is very lazy at times, a total chatterbox who enjoys life to the fullest, a happy go lucky person, bold yet kiddish. Obviously, that is not how Pratigya behaves. But once I get into the character of Pratigya, I totally get into it. I get the maturity and strength to deal with different situations, and I think this happens just because I believe in the character. I never ever simply essay a character; I live it. And that is the reason why people are so convinced with the role. I honestly follow the morals and principals of Pratigya.

How you were approached for the role of Pratigya?

Ekta Kapoor has chosen me at first for 'Kitani Mohabbat Hai' through a social networking site and that became my first ever debut into television. After that, I did a few cameos, followed by 'Pratigya' which became my calling card.

Every actor has to go through the "struggling" phase in his or her life. Have you faced such hardships till now?

By god's grace, I have not at all faced any hard ship in my acting career so far. I have never sat home with depression without any work. I started working with "Kitani…" on 16th December 2008 and it came to an end by September 2009; immediately after which, in October 2009, I started working with 'Pratigya'. So, touchwood, so far I haven't experienced such down time from acting.

Why acting as a career and nothing else?

Actually, I was never decided upon what to do in my life. I had no ambition in my life till I was in 10th standard. Someday I used to think I want to be a doctor, someday a lawyer, and some days I even wanted to become a teacher. But since my childhood I have always dreamt about being a branch manager of Axis Bank. (Yeah, that's a long story). But life took a turn and I was tipped by Ekta Kapoor on a social networking site to become an actor. So how can I reject goddess Laxmi that had come to my doorstep?

'Pratigya' is doing well these days. Did you ever think the show would reach these heights one day?

Yes, I had a feeling that this show would do really well right from the time I met the producer, Pearl, for the first time. I was highly impressed by her confidence in the show. And the most important thing was the concept of the show. It was the first time on Indian television such kind of story was taken up. Now, looking back, I can happily say that my gut feeling was so true.

Whom will you credit for the success of show? How will you rate yourself as an actor?

Daily soap is team work. I will give credit to all those who have supported and contributed to the show; including the writers, the creative team, the producers, the crew that works relentlessly day in and day out. And when it comes to rate me from 1 to 10, I think 8 is the best one for me because still I have to learn many things in my life. This is just a start.

Who is your role model in acting?

Priyanka Chopra; I am a big fan of hers. I admire the way she carries herself; her style, her charm. And the most important thing is that the way she loves her dad. I think we both share the same story and I can relate to her. I want to be like her one day.

How is your experience with your co actors?

I don't mix with any one. On set, I am by myself. I come on time, get into my green room, do my make up, when any one calls me for the shot, I go and deliver my best after which, again I come back to my room. But yes, after working for so many years, we all are quite comfortable with each other.

What is your final goal to achieve?

I have a very crucial aim to achieve, but I can't reveal it now. You will come to know as I fulfill it. But I think this just my start and I am in a learning process, still I have to grow and apply what I have learned so far. Miles to go ahead. Still many things are pending in life. I have just turned 19 now, so the journey has just begun.

Message to your audience!

Keep loving and watching 'Pratigya' if you want the show to continue. Thanks for the love and support for the show. Thanks a lot.

Kesar goes against Pratigya

Pratigya on STAR Plus took a shocking twist this week as Kesar withdraws her case against her husband Shakti and mother-in-law Thakurain (Asmita) and frees them from jail.

More on Pratigya : Discuss here | Watch full episodes | Official Website

All this inspite of the way both had ill-treated her in the past. Shakti had forced her to undergo abortion several times against her wishes. All the efforts that Pratigya had put in to help Kesar get justice went in vain due to Kesar's actions. We spoke to Pratigya and Kesar and found out what they had to say about the issue.

Kesar said "I was very confused about whether I should support Pratigya or my husband and mother-in-law. Shakti has now changed his behavior towards me and he loves me a lot. I feel that everyone deserves a chance to improve themselves and so do my husband and mother-in-law." "I also believe that it is against our culture to fight with your elders and to land them in trouble "she adds.

"I know that Pratigya has done a lot for me and fought so that I get justice but now that my husband and mother-in-law have changed, I just want to forget the past and live peacefully with my family."

Shakti says "I was very sure that Kesar would support me and my mother because she is not bold enough to go against the family. Even Komal helped us by emotionally blackmailing her."

A disappointed Pratigya says "I felt bad when Kesar didi withdrew her case. Shakti and Thakurain deserved to be punished but then I cannot blame her completely. She thinks that Shakti and Thakurain have mended their ways, but it is not true. "I am scared that they may try to torture Kesar didi again" she says. "I wish Kesar didi was as strong as me." she says sadly.

Will Pratigya be successful in making Kesar realize that Shakti and Thakurain have not changed their ways? Keep watch Pratigya every Monday-Friday at 10.30 PM on STAR Plus to find out.

Pooja Gor more famously known as Pratigya of 'Pratigya' is waiting for her serial 'Kitni Mohabbat Hai', to go on the floor, so that she can go on the sets and mingle around with her friends

"I don't mingle around much with every body, but that doesn't mean I don't have friends. I do have friends, I am very close to them, they are Karan Kundra and Kritika Kamra and all other unit members from 'Kitni Mohabbat Hai'." says Pooja

She further adds, "During KMH, I had spent quality time with them and they are the people whom I can call as my family. I really hope that KMH starts at the earliest so that at least once I can visit the sets and meet all my family members. Or else I am hoping that some day we share the same shooting venue, at least then I can catch up with them and spend some good time."

On being apart of KMH2, she commented, "I so want to but unfortunately I can't because the whole storyline, cast, the look of the show is different except the two leads and their names. I have my own show which I can't leave mid way."

Well we are all waiting for the show to start. Wishing the entire cast and crew of KMH all the best!
