The serial Pratigya is number one on the TRP list and it's not surprising that the makers decided to have a party to celebrate their success.

The party, however, turned out to be quite eventful. Actor Yuvraj Malhotra (remember he was in Smriti Irani's serial Waaris) who's in a relationship with producer Pearl Gray lost his cool when actor Anupam Shyam, who plays Sajjan Singh in the show, hugged Pearl.

He fired Singh, who was also a few drinks down, and asked him to behave himself. Yuvraj is said to be very possessive of his girlfriend, but one didn't expect him to make it so obvious that too during a celebration. However, when we called him, he denied the incident. "There was no such unpleasant incident involving me and Anupam. These are just lies being spread," he laughed.

What we did like about Yuvraj though is the fact that he didn't try to maintain the 'we are just friends' line. "Yes, I am seeing Pearl and we've been together for the past three-and-a-half years."

On the work front, the young man is hoping to make it in movies. "I'm also currently in talks for some shows, but I can't confirm anything yet."

All my scenes are challenging. I usually do my homework before coming to work. However, I remember my first day of shooting at Allahabad. My stomach was churning. It was challenging as a newcomer.

Male bonding on TV

Krishna-Sajjan- Krishna (Arhaan Behll) and Sajjan Singh (Anupam Shyam) the father-son duo of Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya on STAR Plus are more like friends. They keep teasing each other and pulling each others leg. Their excellent rapport and witty dialogues never fail to amuse viewers. The age gap between Krishna and Sajjan does not even matter when it comes to this lovable duo bonding.

Mink Brar to perform in Pratigya

Pratigya's kid-sister, Aarushi Saxena's engagement with Aman Mathur calls for a grand celebration and STAR Plus along with the production house is leaving no stone unturned to make it special for the couple-to-be and the viewers.

This special episode will feature the Bollywood actress famous for her item numbers and of course the mellifluous chuckle, Mink Brar. The actress will play herself in this special episode and perform to a popular item number. Brar as she claims was scared to try new things in life and so kept refusing television.

We caught the girl while she was busy getting her make-up done. She says, "You fear to try anything that is alien to you. I was scared to do television though I kept receiving offers. I am a little choosy when it comes to project which justifies my fear. Also I have been misunderstood a lot in the industry. When I ask extra questions and request the producers to give me time to decide on a project, they end up thinking that I am not interested in the project, which may not be the case. I remember when I had just entered in the industry and appeared on Shekhar Suman's chat show, he asked me if I am a 'no girl' as I am famous for refusing offers. He also said that I have been the toughest to be brought on the show. It is not true at all. I think my opinion changed post my stint at Dancing Queen on television. The response and acknowledgment on TV is immediate. You shoot today and it airs the following week. Feedback and responses from viewers is quick here."

So what prompted her to do the show? "Primarily, its because of my friend Umesh Yamgarr (head of casting department, Walkwaters) who approached me for this and also after speaking to the creative head of the show, I was sure that this is a special and prestigious occasion for Saxenas and Mathurs. I also like the fact that I will play myself on the show and will do an item number which is my forte."

Mink claims that becoming a part of the show means that she is open to doing TV now but wouldn't just jump at anything that comes her way. Quips she, "I am open to doing soaps but has to be a nice concept. I would love to be a part of historical show like Jhansi Ki Rani."

A spectacular performance by the Parul Chauhan aka Ragini of Bidaai and Pooja Gor aka Pratigya that will leave the viewers awed as the two artists do this traditional Charkula Act. Seeing the experts face accidents is not really encouraging for the freshers, but kudos to the courage shown by our veteran actors who managed to complete the act with such brilliance.

Tell us something about yourself? "I am from Ajmer, Rajasthan. Later, I moved to Noida where I did my 11th and 12th Standard. In Noida itself, I did my graduation in Commerce. I always wanted to pursue acting and I did some plays during my school days, but I never did theatre and I joined Kishore Namit Kapoor's acting institute."

How did you bag the role of Krishna?
"It's through auditions only. I came to Mumbai from Noida to audition for this role and through my hard work I got the part which has now become popular among the youth of India, especially in northern India."

How did your parents react with your decision of turning an actor?
"They were slightly worried about my decision because it is not easy for a new comer to stay in Mumbai and now they are happy to see my progress and my show's success."

What kind of feedback are you getting from this show?
"It is positive as all seem to like my character Krishna and his love towards Pratigya. You can see the change in the Northern parts of India, especially in Allahabad and other adjoining areas. The college goers are dressing up like Krishna, which feels great, that my acting is being appreciated by the audiences."

What do you like about Mumbai city? "It has a busy life and the spirit to work hard. Currently I am staying in Bandra, Mumbai and I really love the lifestyle of the city. Now, I am a Mumbaikar." So then in Mumbai, where do you go for shopping? "I am not a shopping freak but I usually I go to town side especially, Pheonix Mills excites me..."
