After smashing all previous with each of his last three Christmas releases, Aamir Khan has locked the Christmas 2014 weekend for his next film directed by Rajkumar Hirani - the director of classics like Munnabhai MBBS, Lage Raho Munnabhai and 3 Idiots.

Sources say the film could release on 19th December 2014, allowing the film to take advantage of the extended Christmas - New Year holiday season.

Aamir made the announcement on Twitter, without announcing a final date "Hey guys, PK release date is finally locked... this Christmas... my lucky date!!! Jai Ho!!!"

Soon after the announcement, there are murmurs within the industry that Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead, could be postponed to a later date. There are also reports that Yash Raj Films' is targeting a December release for Manish Sharma's Fan starring Shahrukh Khan.

It'll be interesting to see if any film would go on to clash with PK and Aamir Khan during Christmas.

Isn't any Friday a good Friday for a good movie? 🤔

But knowing how the industry operates, BV wont be left with any screens if it has to release with an SRK or Aamir film😆We'l have an Ajay vs. YRF or Ekta vs. SRK all over again😆If only things were that fair, competition would have been more than welcome😆
