Sources say that Rohit Roy has been approached for a special role in Diya Aur Baati Hum. "Since Sandhya (Deepika Singh) is training for IPS, they are looking at casting a popular actor for the role of an officer who will motivate and guide her. It will be like Shah Rukh Khan's role in Chak De India!," says the source.

Producer Sumeet Mittal confirms that they are approaching known actors for the role. "In fact, we will be roping in several established actors for special roles duing the IPS track. However, it's a taking a little time because it's difficult to match the dates with these busy actors, especially since we are shooting in Karnal, Haryana," he says. When contacted, Rohit said that he had been approached for the role and he would love to be a part of the show.

"My entire household loves the show, but the only hitch is they want to shoot immediately so dates may be an issue. Let's see," says Rohit. Other actors approached for special cameos are Sonu Sood and Manoj Bajpayee.
