"Another Case, you coming?"
"Yeah, I'll be right behind you."
As one of my colleagues' left through the door I picked up my gun and batch, followed him to the black SUV.
"Are you sure you'll be able to find the route?"
"Yup. Don't worry"
"Okay then meet you at the crime spot"
He sat and inside the car and zoomed out the gates towards another call of duty. And I was doing the same. I sat in the black SUV, put the seat belt on, started the ignition and started driving towards my destination.
The sun streaked the sky with rays of light and I couldn't help but wonder hoe my life had changed since... well the day I joined the police force.
I was a mere trainee in the academy who had come with same purpose as all the others had. To serve the country. To protect those innocent souls. To wipe out crime. People usually saw me as the well built, strong and muscular bodyguard types man who could do anything for his country. But no one knew that his bodyguard types man was actually a sentimental soul from the inside. A man who was strong physically yet soft hearted emotionally and mentally. And the perfect phrase that to describe him was "Dil to bacchha hai ji, thoda kaccha hai ji"
I was accepted into the force after all those years of hard work. They posted me in one of the best column I could have ever imagined. ETF. Emergency Task Force. Working there was one of the best experiences I've ever had in my life. I got one of the best gifts...Friends and Family!
One of them was Shree...
An mein Shree ke bare mein kya kahoon...he was like the chocolate boy of the team. Always with his laptop and tab! Khabhi khabhi lagta tha ki apni laptop se hi shaadi karlega! Laughs Bilkul pagal tha! But mera sabse achhaa dost tha... I miss him.
Then comes Riya...
She was the life of ETF. Jab wo thi to lagta tha ki you were in wonderland literally! Her dimples smile always brightened your day like the sun lit up the sky. Everything about her was so...pure. From her smile to her childish antics. From her coffee to her being the hygienic freak. Me, her and Shree made the perfect trio! Giggles . But fate can be cruel. She... sacrificed herself for the country. That day it felt like she had taken a part of us with her. I miss her.
Aur phir the Rathore sir...
He was the best leader/chief I had ever met. He had always handled every situation very easily. I still didn't get how he could do it. Unke trade mark dialogue "Damit"
I miss it now! Haan khahi kabar gusse hojate the but unke gusse mein bhi ek apna pan hota tha...jaise koi guru apne student ko daant raha ho. Hum unki baat ka bura maan hi nahi sakte the. Cause we knew he did for our benefit. But he left us too. Without saying anything he just left. Not even caring to say goodbye.
And then comes Arjun sir...
Unke barein me to jobhi bolo kam hai. He was the 2nd in command of the team. He was a no-nonsense cop with a kind of attitude I've never seen in anybody. He had a slang to the way he talked. He walked or did anything. Be it his trade markl dialogue "Samjhe ya Smajhaoun" to his cutting chai. His pen twirling style or the way rotates his gun. His anger or the way he say "Kuch to choot raha hai". All of this defined the real him. On the outside he was ruthless, i-don't-care attitude cop but in the inside he was a broken man with a lost cause. He had lost his wife and his best friend. Yet his only goal was to take revenge from the monster who killed her.
Ayesha...
Well she was known as the Lady dabang of ETF! Smiles The girl had beauty and brains almost like the color black. Bold and beautiful. She was the most mature person I had met till now. Criminals ke sath ruthless and doston ke saath sodt ban kar rah thi thi! Sachi dosti nibhana koi use sikhe.
Aur Sakshi..
Puri ki puri Drama queen thi ye ladki. Arjun sir ke saath flirt karna, Hamra saath choti bathon pad ladna aur cause ke jab silly se joke marna! Sach me care free bana koi isse sikhe! She was a trouble magnet aur wo bhi filmy waali! Laughs But use dekh kar khabhi khabhi mein jealous feel karta tha..because..She was the definition of living life to the fullest! But she was a great friend as well!
Aakhir mein Liza...
Well she was the forensic expert of the team. Aur jab dekho jab Shree ka sath ladti rehti thi! Tom and Jerry!! She was a little mischievous too! Aur ham khoob masti kiya karte the! She was a great friend too!!
I came out of my thoughts as I hear a car honking behind me. I realized I had reached the crime spot. I quickly got out joined the others. Another innocent mercilessly murdered. Couldn't help but wonder what my team would have done if they were here. Rathore sir and Arjun sir jaan laga dete ye case solve karne mein aur hum bhi poori koshish karte.
To be honest I never moved on from them..how could I? they were the most important part of my life. Whenever I look at my new team members can't help but remember them. Can't help but think what they would have done if they were here. I miss them. I miss them so much that sometimes I forget to breath for a second. But I guess life goes on...and the worst part is...we can't stop it from moving one.
As the new chief briefed us about our roles on finding out the criminal I knew that one day I'll meet them all somewhere...somewhere where things wouldn't be so complicated and Life would just freeze for a moment.
I, Chandrakant patil aka Chotu will move on. I know it won't be easy but hey who said anything would be easy. Plus if this is what makes them happy I am willing to do it.
