| A few days ago, Tusshar Kapoor and Rohit Roy joined hands to play a prank on Viveik Oberoi while shooting for Sanjay Gupta's Shootout At Lokhandwala.
After leaving him red-faced with embarrassment, Viveik tried to get back at Rohit day before yesterday but failed!
Faux pas
The first incident happened at Kamalistan Studio (Jogeshwari, suburban Mumbai), where director Apoorva Lakhia was shooting a bar song.
Viveik was supposed to flirt with co-star Aarti Chhabria in the song, when Tusshar and Rohit decided to divert Viveik's advances and make him do a dance sequence that was not part of the original choreography.
Says Lakhia, "Since Viveik was dancing in front of them in that fabricated dance sequence, he didn't know what was going on behind him."
So what exactly was going on behind Viveik's back? Laughs Lakhia, "Tusshar and Rohit did just one or two steps behind him and then quietly slipped away, leaving Viveik as the sole dancer in the frame.
Viveik didn't know that Tusshar and Rohit were not dancing behind him, as he wasn't aware that the scene had been fabricated. As the director, I had to join the gag too else it would have failed.
So, I had actually called for a take on that scene and kept the camera rolling so that Viveik didn't figure out that we were fooling him."
Unaware of the gag or how silly he looked, Viveik kept dancing for quite some time. But when he realised the truth, he was embarrassed no end! Says Rohit, "Eventually, Viveik took the gag very sportingly.
The day before yesterday, he tried to get back at me by trying to make me do a step that wasn't there in the song, but I sensed that something was amiss. I guess my sixth sense has been working overtime ever since Tusshar and I had fooled Viveik!"
Rohit adds that even though Shootout At Lokhandwala is based on a true story, shooting for it has been all fun and games.
"Viveik, Tusshar, Shabbir (Ahluwalia), Apu (Lakhia) and I gelled and are now like one big gang, that's why we can take the liberty of pulling a fast one on each other.
There have been many instances where we've had fun at each other's expense and this is just one of them," says Rohit.
