I think you're spot on with the blank canvas analogy. Paro is someone who has known grief in her life yes but it has still been a very sheltered life; she's yet to experience so much of love and life and often it's our experiences that shape us as a person.

All the things you mentioned will help shape her character and the hurdles she'll face in the (most likely near) future will force her to make choices which will affect her life. I feel like we're still yet to see who Paro is exactly, we have all that to look forward to😉
