Sonam Kapoor Ahuja is soaking in every moment of her second pregnancy. As she and husband Anand Ahuja prepare to welcome their second child after son Vayu, the actor treated fans to a beautiful glimpse of her Godh Bharai ceremony held at their Mumbai home. The video she shared is filled with laughter, rituals, tight hugs and a whole lot of love.

A Celebration Surrounded By Love

The ceremony turned into a warm family affair with cousins Arjun Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor and Shanaya Kapoor by her side. Kareena Kapoor Khan, Masaba, Bhumi Pednekar and several close friends were also present to bless the mom-to-be.

The video captures adorable moments, Kareena and Arjun hugging Sonam with wide smiles, Khushi and Shanaya taking part in the rituals, and Shabana Azmi seen laughing in the background. Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor looked overjoyed as they enjoyed every second of the celebration.

The Meaning Behind The Ritual

Along with the video, Sonam penned a heartfelt note describing the importance of the ceremony. She explained that Seemantonnayan is the third of the sixteen sacred sanskars in Sanatan Dharma. Often referred to as the hair-parting ritual, it honours the mother and the life growing within her.

She also mentioned how the ceremony is known by different names across India, Godh Bharai, Shrimant, Dohale Jevan, Shaad, Seemantham, Valaikappu and more, but the intention remains the same: to bless and protect both mother and child.

Expressing gratitude, Sonam shared how special the day felt because her closest friends and family showed up for her. She thanked her mother, Sunita Kapoor, her mother-in-law and her sister for organising the celebration and making her feel cherished and supported.

For the occasion, Anand kept it classic in a white kurta pajama with subtle gold details. But all eyes were on Sonam. She chose a hand-printed lime yellow ethnic outfit that beautifully highlighted her baby bump. With minimal styling and her signature grace, she looked radiant and calm. Here’s wishing the Kapoor-Ahuja family endless happiness as they wait to welcome their newest member.
