Like most aspirants, Sushant moved to Mumbai to carve a destiny in Bollywood in 1996. He was to be launched in Chetan Anand's film but the latter passed away. Ram Gopal Varma noticed him and cast him in a small role in his celebrated 'Satya'. Impressed with his work, Ramu repeated him in two of his most talked about movies, 'Kaun' and 'Jungle'. Ever since, there was no looking back for Sushant. He had established himself as a character actor of substance and filmmakers began queuing outside his door. Gradually inching his way up in Bollywood, he repeated his magic in Raj Kumar Santoshi's much-acclaimed 'The Legend of Bhagat Singh', in which he played the role of the firebrand revolutionary, Sukhdev. Expectedly, he bagged encomiums and nominations unlimited. Recently, he was seen in a pivotal role in E.Niwas' 'Dum', Manisha Koirala's home-production, 'Paisa Vasool', Ram Gopal Varma's 'Darna Mana Hai', iDream Production's '16th December' (with Milind Soman and Dipannita) and in iDream's 'Samay' with Sushmita Sen. He will now be seen in a stellar role alongside Hrithik Roshan in Farhan Akhtar's 'Lakshya' releasing this week. | |
