Hi Guys! It's Hinal, and I'm back again with an AR OS.

This is the first time I'm attempting a songfic. The song is Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai female version. It's a very sweet song, and I hope that you guys enjoy this OS as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Although you will figure it out soon, just for clarification:

Text in:
Italics = past

So here it goes:

Naa Kuch Poocha
Naa Kuch Manga
Tune Dil Se Diya Jo Diya

Rid - Kya karu yaar Nikki. Tujhe pata hai I don't have that kind of money right now. I mean haan mujhe woh competition mein participate karna hai, lekin 10,000 rupees is too much naa. Abhi tak maine sirf 2,000 rupees save kiye hai.

Nik - Toh tum tumhaare pati se kyun nahi puunchti?

Riddhima snorts - As if woh mujhe paise denge. Ulta mujhe hi mana kar denge. Dekha hai na tune woh kaise seedhe-saadhe hai? Unhe yeh sab kuch samajh nahi aayega. Rehne de, I'll find a way.

Nik - Okay, but remember fees ki deadline kal shaam ko hai. I have 5,000 rupees saved, lekin usme se main sirf tumhe 1,000 de sakti hu. Actually mujhe college ki fees bharni hai so...

Rid - Arrey no Nikki. It's okay. I'll find a way, aur agar nahi hua toh it's okay, next year karungi. Accha chal, ab woh aa rahe honge, main rakhti hun.

Nik - Chal toh, milte hai. Bye Ridzy!

Rid - Bye!

After putting the phone down, she turned around just to see Armaan standing at the doorway.

Arm - Aapne kyun iss baare mein mujhe nahi bataya? Woh locker mein 30,000 rupees always mein rakhta hun, aur (digging in his pocket, and removing a key from the bundle of keys he had) yeh chaabi aap rakhiye. Jab chahiye tab le lijiye ga.

Rid - Aap dikhaana kya chahte hai yeh kar ke? (Her voice loudening with each word spoken by her) Dikhaana kya chahte hai? Ki aap bahot acche insaan and all that hai right? Ek toh yeh shaadi mujhe karni hi nahi thi lekin Papa ki aakhri iccha puuri karne ki wajeh se shaadi karni padi. Lekin yeh yaad rakhna aap, yeh sab paison se mera dil nahi jeet sakte aap. I'm never going to love you, and you better get that clear.

Arm - Jee mera yeh matlab nahi tha! (Still maintaining a calm voice)

But before he could say anything else, she stormed off upstairs and slammed her room doors shut.

Armaan went to the kitchen to make some poha for both of them. He finished his dinner, and left some for Riddhima in a plate for her to eat.

The next morning, Riddhima had received some mail from a company. They had sent her a cheque for 10,000 rupees. At first, confusion struck her but then she found a letter attached to the cheque which claimed that her father was a stock holder in the company and that after his death, she was the one who would receive the share profits on his behalf. She realized what that meant for her participation in the competition, and smiled widely after a long time.

She found Armaan behind her and she didn't know what came over her, but she couldn't let go of the opportunity to taunt him.

Rid - See, I don't need your money! I have the amount I need to do what I want without your help!

Armaan smiled - Accha hai aapko paise mil gaye. Good luck for the competition ji. Accha ab main jaa raha hun, office mein late hoga overtime hai, toh aap mera intezaar mat kijiye ga raat ko.

Rid - Suniye, ek second.

She ran to the kitchen and came back with his lunch packed.

Rid - Aapke liye bhindi baanayi hai.

He thanked her and smiled, after which he left.

Riddhima knew she was too mean to Armaan at times, but nevertheless, she could not deny that he was a good man and never forced her to do anything. Despite really loathing him sometimes, she never stepped back from her duties as a good wife. She knew he deserved someone better, and it was mainly that guilt which compelled her to do all these things for him, though she was also genuinely concerned knowing how good of a man he really was.

---

The competition was over, and even her college was over. Having nothing to do, she began watching TV. Flipping through the channels, she watched the business news which was a report on the same company through which she was able to participate in the competition. But that letter and the news did not fit the jigsaw. The company was dealing with huge losses since the past 6 months now, and had just declared bankruptcy.

"It was... Armaan?" But she knew that was more of a statement than a question

Naa Kuch Bola
Naa Kuch Tola
Muskura Ke Diya Jo Diya

Riddhima had fallen down in her rehearsals, bruising her arm. She was in pain but did not want to tell Armaan knowing he would worry unnecessarily. She was getting used to him nowadays and did not mind him as much as she did in the beginning. Right after coming home, she had tea with Armaan as he was home early, and then washed the dishes. Without saying anything, she then went upstairs for a quick shower.

When she finally did come out of the bathroom, she noticed Armaan was standing across the room with a painkiller in his hand. His hair was wet, his usually perfect tucked-in shirt was crinkled, and his glasses had droplets of water on them.

Arm - Yeh le lijiye ga (handing her the painkiller), isse dard thoda kam ho jaayega.

Rid - Aapko kaise pata chala?

Arm - Woh aap chai bana rahe the tab dekha tha issi liye.

For the first time, she gave him a smile, a whole-hearted and genuine smile.

Coming downstairs, she also noticed two boxes of noodles with some fried rice in a bowl, all set up on the table.

He smiled at her as he took the chair out for her to sit.

---

It was raining outside and she wanted to go for a walk, but Armaan had refused. So she went in the balcony and stood there feeling the raindrops, when Armaan's refusal replayed in her head

Arm - Woh mujhe baarish mein bheegna accha nahi lagta iss liye.

"Why did he do it that time then? Why did he do it? The painkiller? The food? Why?"

She recalled his smile that night, the smile he always gives her when she accepts his help. His smile brought a smile on her face, and maybe, just maybe she started believing in a second shot at life.

Tu Hi Dhoop
Tu Hi Chaaya

Dr - I'm sorry Riddhima. Your father's heart attack was so major that we cannot say anything now.

Riddhima felt her world crumble into pieces. Her beautiful world with her father by her side seemed to shatter by each passing second. First her fianc died in an accident, due to which her father ended up in this condition.

Rid - May I... see him doctor?

Dr - Yes of course, follow the nurse, she will take you there.

Walking into the room with a face full of tears, she felt her throat begin to choke up with emotions. She couldn't bear the thought of losing her father too. She cleared up her tears as she approached him.

Dad - Riddhima beta (in a weak voice). I'm sorry main tumhe aisi... aisi haalat mein chod ke jaa raha hu.

Rid - Aapko kuch nahi hoga papa. Aap bilkul theek ho jaayega. Aapko kuch, kuch nahi hoga. Main kuch hone nahi dungi aapko.

Tears began to stream down her face as she heard her father speak of his death. She was a strong woman, but the thought that she would lose the most important person in her life after already losing one on the same day was unbearable.

Her father stroked her hair gently, as he asked for a favour, or rather asked for her to fulfill his last wishes.

Dad - Beta, tum Armaan se shaadi karlo. Woh hi mujhe hospital le aaya tha, aur tum aayi uske pehle hi usne mujhse vaada kiya ki woh tumhaara dhyaan rakhega.

She tried to refuse and get her father to understand that she couldn't love anyone and that he deserved someone who loved him, but her father didn't give up. Even though she wasn't up for this whole thing, she did not have the heart to disagree with her father for long. She knew his soul would go in peace if he knew she was going to be taken care of.

They had gotten married then right in front of her father, and then completed the formalities at the court after taking her father's blessings. When they returned, her father had already died.

And as Armaan promised, Riddhima was the one who lit the fire for the cremation of her father's body.

Collecting the ashes, both of them went to the Ganges where the ashes were dispersed.

---

Recalling the fateful day, she remembered how everyone was not allowing her to go with her father's body to the cremation site. She remembered screaming out that it was her right, that she would be with her father till the very end no matter what. That was when Armaan came out of nowhere, took her hand and walked with her to the body, giving her one of the pillars of the stretcher upon which her father now lay.

He walked beside her and supported her throughout.

Even on the cremation grounds, he did not accept the clay pot but asked the priest to give it to Riddhima. She remembered feeling a great sense of respect for Armaan because she knew that if she was not able to do this, she would have lived with regret forever.

Thinking back, even her father's elder sister had not permitted Riddhima to go to the cremation site. But Armaan understood her, he understood why she needed to do this.

"He has always understood me."

Tu Hi Apna Paraya

He was a stranger whom she had just met in the morning, but in that moment, everyone except for him seemed like a stranger to her.

Aur Kuch Naa Jaanu
Bas Itna Hi Jaanu
Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai
Yaara Mein Kya Karoon

Arm - Aapke dance competition ke final bahot acchi tarah jaaye iss liye abhi naashta karke hum gurudware jaayege. Aap tayaar ho jaaye, main naashta bana leta hu.

After breakfast, both took off on his bike to the Golden Temple

They entered the Golden Temple, and as she sat there, she saw him on the other side with his eyes closed and his hands folded. Her belief in religion wasn't strong, but seeing him made her want to believe.

Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai
Yaara Mein Kya Karoon

She could see her God in him. His selfless love, his unconditional love, his patience, his caring nature; everything in him seemed divine to her. He had always done what he could for her, protecting her, supporting her, helping her through the obstacles.

Sajde Sar Jhukta Hai
Yaara Mein Kya Karun

Right before the dance competition, she touched his feet. She had never felt so strongly about any person before. As much as she hated him in the beginning, he had slowly gained so much respect in her eyes.

Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai
Yaara Mein Kya Karun

She looked at him standing in the audience, clapping the loudest as she was announced as the winner. When handed the microphone, she knew exactly what she wanted to say.

Rid - All this would not have been possible without my husband's love and support. Armaan, main aapse bahot pyaar karti hu!

As tears formed in her eyes, she rushed off the stage and made her way through the audience, taking Armaan in a tight embrace.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi

And that day, I knew that we both were, and will always be, a "Rab Ne Bana Di" Jodi

Hinal 😳
