I don't think the normal viewer even gets to hear about these statistics and comparisons about career graphs. It's only if you get on these kind of forums when you start noticing all of this stuff. Otherwise hardly anyone knows or tends to care.

I think it's safe to say that Shahrukh Khan has consistently been the most popular Khan among the three. Salman has only recently risen up and gotten noticed. He did get popularity for most of his career, but it was always behind SRK. It's only now that he's compared to the level of SRK. (which I think is completely silly, and I'll explain why later) And no offense to Aamir fans, but he's never had the kind of popularity and star power that SRK and Salman have enjoyed. Even now, he's noticed and hyped because of the good cinema he tends to act in. Otherwise, he really doesn't have the star power to carry a film just coz he's in it. Nor do you see too many fans being passionate about him as a celebrity.

Now I may be wrong, but doesn't Salman mostly get the love in India? I can see that he's gotten insane amounts of support and love in India, but is there such a frenzy for him outside of India? His efforts and achievements are mostly applauded in India. For Aamir, it seems to be the opposite. While he's not particularly a huge star, his achievements are recognized a lot by both India and international institutions. (I might have gotten facts wrong in this paragraph since I hardly know anything about Aamir or Salman as global stars...so forgive me if the reality is otherwise)

Now I have come to realize that SRK is not maybe the hugest star in India right now. I believe that he was until 2010. (for almost all of his career) And by hugest star, I don't just mean the box office. But like someone mentioned, SRK's cinema and his aura were always looked upon to be the most popular. It was just normal to KNOW that SRK was the next big thing to have happened to Bollywood after Big B.

Now that was India. Globally, nobody can match SRK's popularity. It borders on mania. And I'm not only talking about fans going crazy and showing their love. He has international governments, institutions and press recognize his achievements. Did you know they make stamps with SRK's face in Paris? That Germany has coins with his face and name on it? That every year in Vienna, professors from different countries fly in to take part in a conference wholly dedicated to SRK Khan's career? I can honestly write a spiel😆 No Bollywood actor can match SRK as a global actor.

So all in all, combining SRK's start power in India and internationally, he's by far much bigger than Salman Khan in terms of popularity, recognition and achievements.

Overall career wise SRK is the biggest Khan, Salman is close second,Aamir is distant third.

Lol nice to know I wasn't the only one thinking Sharukh is the most popular outside India. I've always had the impression that Salman is the biggest in India, and Sharukh pretty much everywhere else.
Where I'm from it was always Sharukh everyone spoke about, it was always his movies everyone went crazy over. Probably because international audiences are majorly drawn to those big flashy melo-dramatic love-stories/dramas/tragedies which Sharukh is really famous for. Followed by Sharukh everyone raves about Aamir (where I'm from), and then most people didn't care about Salman at all, until Dabangg happened.


The dynamic has shifted from what it was a decade ago, however. I remember in the millenium there was that vote to decide who would be the first indian actor to get a madamme tassauds statue, in the final it was between Amitabh and Shahrukh. That's a testament to Sharukh being the most popular universally back then. However if that vote took place now Salman would probably give Sharukh a run for his money.

Aamir is clearly the sohnar...the King and Bhai can keep fighting for these petty hits...Aamir har do saal baad ayega aur record bana ke jaayega!
