Bebo opted out Shuddhi bcz of Hrithik Martial Status

Director Karan Malhotra has quashed rumours of actress Deepika Padukone replacing Kareena Kapoor Khan in his mega project 'Shuddhi'.

"Kareena is very much part of the film. It (rumours of Deepika Padukone doing the film) is not true. We have not approached anyone. It is one hero-heroine project... So it's only Kareena in the film," the 'Agneepath' director told PTI.

Starring Hrithik Roshan in the lead, the film is being produced by Karan Johar.

The shooting will commence from next year and the film will hit cinema houses in 2015.

The price that actors have to pay for being in the spotlight is huge. Hrithik Roshan's much hyped separation from wife Sussanne Roshan, seems to have triggered off a series of speculations. The one that is currently doing the rounds is about his 'Shuddhi' co-star Kareena Kapoor backing out of the film. The reason touted for Kareena's developing cold feet is Hrithik's current martial status.

More than a decade ago, there were rumours about their liaison. Now that Kareena is happily married, she and her husband Saif Ali Khan don't want unnecessary rumours to cause any stress. A certain section of the media has been insinuating that Dharma Productions has approached Deepika Padukone to play the lead in 'Shuddhi'. "There is no truth to it," says sources close to Karan Johar. "There is no change in the star cast of the film. Kareena was and is the leading lady in the film," says a source close to Dharma productions.

In the past, Kareena had opted out of 'Ram-Leela' to make way for Deepika. The success of the film turned out to be Kareena's loss and Deepika's gain. We hope Bebo doesn't repeat the same mistake yet again.
