8 Bollywood Films of 2013 That Should Never Have Been Made

Because for every Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, there are ten Himmatwalas that transport us right back to the Neanderthal Ages.

Pardon us for making the grave mistake of ranking mundane stuff like a plausible plot and a gripping climax high on our priorities before watching a Bollywood film. With the start of December officially signaling the start of the year-end lists, here are eight movies that should have been canned before being made:

Zanjeer

1

Offence: Messing with the no-remakes rule. And if there wasn't such a rule before, then Zanjeer definitely ensured that it was created. One reviewer wrote, "If Salim-Javed do watch this film, one wouldn't be surprised if they decided to give the money and 'core story' credit back and disassociate themselves from this embarrassment of a remake.' We concur.

Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbaai Dobara

2

Offence: Imran Khan for trying to pull off the rogue act, Akshay Kumar for the corny dialogues and Ekta Kapoor for hoping it to all to work. Please do us all a favor and don't make a sequel; we can't put up with this mess dobara.

Rangrezz

3

Offence: Vashu Bhagnani for continuing to produce movies for his son and Jackky Bhagnani for not having the good sense to tell his father to invest in a more worthy cause.

Boss

4

Offence: Trotting out the masala-action formula that we've seen in a minimum of fifty films at least, this year alone. And for throwing in jarring remixes that made us want to pull out each strand of our hair individually.

Issaq

5

Offence: Destroying what little Prateik Babbar had going for him post-Ekk Deewana Tha. Which wasn't much to begin with, in the first place. There are romantic films and there are dramatic films; this sorry excuse for a Romeo and Juliet adaptation falls under neither.

Shortcut Romeo

6

Offence: The vote is split on this one, actually. Cheers to Shortcut Romeo for reminding us that Neil Nitin Mukesh exists and jeers for reminding us why we forgot him in the first place.

Himmatwala

7

Offence: The fact that it was ever made. Period.

Nasha

8

Offence: Permanently ruining the teacher-student dynamic and for ensuring that self-proclaimed celebs like Poonam Pandey never run out of work. A special shoutout to Veena Malik whose shoddy flick Supermodel is sailing in the same boat. Yes, the very same one which is soon going to dock at No One Cares land.

Chennai Express? Worst movie of all time in Bollywood, Sitting through that movie was absolute torture, I honestly couldn't believe how terrible it was. Fortunately, I left during the interval.

I didn't think that movie was that bad. I thought the love story was kinda cute. And the songs were great. The actress and Vivek had great chemistry!
